A dump of a few million coins. Incredible but true.

yet nobody wants to sell me their coins here... lol

well it seems I really need to buy BTC if I want to get more gulden in my hands..

I suggest you put a big order in the buy book at Bittrex:

1. You buy cheap
2. You support the value

The current pricedrop is something that was unevitable with the sell pressure the coin withstands. It's nothing to worry about and is only a glitch in the coins lifetime. If the price is 10 sat you can but a sandwich and if the price is 1000 sat you also can buy goods. I mentioned before that sudden movements are not good because it scares people off, so it's better to settle at a lower rate first. This tactic has two advantages; the sellers don't get any value so dumping is not profitable and the market is more able to absorb large quantities at a low price because of the lower btc value until the amount of coins in circulation is enough to be self regulatory.

For who's interested there are at least two constant sellers. One is a miner with 120 or something Mhs starting 22 may and autoselling at intervals of 10 mins round figures of 1000 (the .00x figures are the transaction fees) this person does not sell everything and still has 2.something milion in a wallet. This person is still dumping despite the low price.
The second is probably a pool or a miner from a pool thats somehow autoselling, these amounts are always fractional.
The dump of 2.3 mil this evening is done from other wallets but because the way exchanges work it's very hard to follow money whenever it hits an exchange. I guess this dump is caused by someone who got scared about the pricedrop.

One thing I will share with you and thats - besides the risk of exchanges going offline - that there are signs with other coins that the value of the dumps does not match the transactions on the blockchain. This can happen if the exchange is starting it's own bussiness and selling coins from the peoples wallets ( going short) with the intention to buy back at a lower value. This action is probably what caused a couple exchanges to tell people "beeing robbed or hacked" the truth is they gambled with your money and shot their foot because the price went up instead of down. So to prevent this behaviour, I will urge again: keep the amount of coins on any exchange as minimal as possible!!

Moar updates!

As some of you might have seen, we've created a top bar for common services such as the docs and seeds overview. This top-bar was recently updated; more items have been added.
Because this bar now contains too many items to display on a mobile phone I made a small static site that links to the most important NLG community resources/services. The top-bar on a mobile phone now links to that site, which also works for desktops of course. Give it a try: https://services.guldencoin.com/

Did you spot it!? Yes yes yes! We are now hosting a webchat interface for the #guldencoin IRC channel at the irc.tweaker.net servers!
Of course you can join this chat using your favorite IRC chat client. The server is irc.tweakers.net and the channel is #guldencoin
The webchat doesn't work that well on a mobile phone so you should use an app to connect to the IRC channel, as described above.

More items will be added to the services.guldencoin.com site as we move along.

The sources are on github:
github.com/nlgcoin/services.guldencoin.com
github.com/nlgcoin/nlg-top

Let me just finish by saying that we are an awesome community. I feel blessed to be a part of this movement.

edit: add links

So, if the network hashrate is now 221 Mhz (guldencoin seeds) our beloved dumper has more than 51% of the network hash?

Yes indeed, there were days our misterious seller had way over 50% of the nethash and I expressed my concern about this with the devteam. They monitor the blockchain and had no reason to believe this person committed a 51% attack. It's very easy to see the hash distribution by counting the blocks found by a wallet address whitin an hour.
With those heavy asics it's a piece of cake to blow a coin into dozens of forks. It's happened before and gona happen much more, it's about the same game as the DDOSing that has become common practise on websites and datacenters. When such attack happens, counter measures are being develloped and at a certain moment the technology withstands the attacks so new attacks are being developed. Thats called evolution! It's a completely natural priciple and nothing to worry about.

I have done some investigating and noticed it was 1 big miner that has pretty much sold most of there coins. I don't see this as a bad thing as we don't want people to hoard NLG , we really want NLG spread to as many people as possible.
On another note we will not be switching algos

One idea which I think would help people see the "adoption" of Guldencoin, would be a easy to see volume of all the NLG's used in the retail outlets, day by day.....

This way, we can see how NLG is really being adopted by people on the street - in comparison to the transactions between traders / miners.

I would assume this not to be too difficult, assuming the DEV's have the addresses of the merchants already signed up? :-)

I'm not sure how the software works on the merchant side, but I would think that it would generate a random address for each transaction.  It might be difficult to track the coin amounts.

Additionally, merchants could be taking fiat as the end payment.  I think tracking the fiat amount is a better representation of the adoption.  However, that would require asking the merchants to divulge financial info.  That might be a bit tricky.

Not knocking the idea... I'd love to see the numbers as well if it were possible.

They haven't really done much publicity for NLG,so it's being adopted slowly by people on the streets...Wink And they don't have to ask for financial info, merchant can give them aprox number of people who pay with NLG each day,I would assume it's not that many yet anyway..Wink And how's the premine being distributed, can you give us a number of dutch people who reqeusted it already?

I noticed this figure was the same about a week ago, so I ping'd the team and they told me it's not up to date and the figure is now 1181. So climbing slowly but surely. Smiley
