What exchange do you recommend I use for buying nLG?

which is popular and have good volume

I almost exclusively use Bittrex for NLG trades.  Just be warned that the NLG wallet often updates on it's own schedule.  Specifically when you deposit 100k+.  The wallet will say it hasn't synced in 30-40 minutes and then all of a sudden it's good again.  Don't expect to do lightning fast deposits/withdrawals there.

swisscex having problems again? can't login no market are being showed hope they solve there problems.

Swisscex is "watch your steps" to say it politely. Very strange trading paterns, bots trading against themselves, stats totally off and whats most important, the wrong trades that were executed weeks ago were never resolved / reimbursed and support does not respond in any way...

Yes, the main website (port 80) at dutchpool.org also seems to be down. Looks like their entire server has a hickup, not just the explorer.
Sadly a coincidence yes. I know some other people are working on an explorer too, but thats not live yet.

This is live, but doesn't have all features abe (mycryptoco.in) provides (yet): http://guldencointrader.nl/

I am very proud to be a part of this and extremely proud to see how far we've come in little over 4 months. Once we get an iOS wallet and mobile payments will be available to allmost everyone we can really start to grow!

Looking at that list I just say; wow.

Regarding the lack of blockexplorers for Guldencoin, I've been trying to get abe (https://github.com/bitcoin-abe/bitcoin-abe) running and pointed to the GuldenCoind blockchain on linux and am guessing I'm close to being succesful.  It parses through the entire blockchain, uploads to database, but some fields in the database aren't populating correctly.  Probably missing something.  Not sure if we want to clog up this thread with a lot of technical troubleshooting, (maybe developer forum?) but I'm more than willing to share whatever I've learned so far.  With an easy to follow 'how-to' on getting a block explorer such as abe running against the NLG blockchain, perhaps more people will host a public blockchain explorer, which would be a good thing?

my abe.conf key lines for NLG is below:

datadir = [{
        "dirname": "/home/guldencoin/.guldencoin",
        "chain":   "GuldenCoin",
        "policy": "LtcScryptChain",
        "decimals": 8,
        "conf": "guldencoin.conf",
        "code3" : "NLG",
        "address_version" : "u0026",
        "magic" : "u00fbu00c0u00b6u00db"
}]

Cheers --Mark

I notice the block reward for NLG is not going to change for over 3 years. Do you think we can maintain current price levels when there is close to a billion coins in 3 and half years time?

Fortunately price isn't just determined by the amount of coins out there, but also by the amount of coins used to pay with and the amount of coins held by spenders, miners, buyers etc. 840 million coins is a lot of moolah so it will certainly be a challenge to keep a steady price at that time. Although, in 3,5 years. You can probably pay at nearly every restaurant and shop in NL with Guldencoin Cheesy That's the goal anyway.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Netherlands was worth 800.17 billion US dollars in 2013.

Even if NLG participates in 0.1% of the Dutch economy, in time people will be like "Holy moly imagine you were one of those guys who bought a 100 sat" Smiley

I agree with you. A coin can be devided in many cents aswell, so that's not really working.  We need to attract more people (fans) into GuldenCoin and possibilities to pay with, so more online and offline Merchants. More marketing, both online and offline in the Netherlands will help to increase the value too as I expect the demands for this coin will rise.

That would be great. I'm one of the many who wasn't an early adopter of BTC. I hope being an early adopter of GuldenCoin makes my life easier hehe.  I'll keep stacking up my GuldenCoins. I can't wait for the moment that they're worth quite a lot and that we can use it very often here in the Netherlands Smiley

Honestly, I believe the higher coin supply will work in NLGs favour as cryptos become a lot more popular. Right now a tiny % of the worlds population are even using bitcoin but the growth rate of bitcoin is incredible. The price of NLG is holding between 80 - 100 and I think there is less then 3000 people that own it. What happens when it becomes 10k, 20k and so on. It will spread like wildfire.

Also NLG has one of the best chances of working alongside bitcoin. Bitcoin is like the store of value global currency where every other coin is trying to compete with that and will lose.
NLG can work alongside bitcoin and euro and will have a completely different market.

Very positive signs I am seeing is that merchants who don't accept bitcoin are taking on NLG and this what will make people want to use it.

Other alt coin prices have been dropping over 300% from a month ago. Blackcoin which is considered one of the better ones has gone from just under 30 000 to under 10 000. Same with many other alts atm. Litecoin down to USD 5.7 from 8 2 weeks ago. For the most part NLG has been very stable. When things turn around later this year it's going to be interesting times!
The fact our hash rate has gone up when NLG price has dropped slightly, shows how bad other coins are doing.
