I use BTER
And why?
It is easy to use Has a nice range of coins to trade in Deposits withdrawals go smooth 2 password to protect your account
Only backdraw is no trade to EUR
I just read that BTER has got hacked => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740147.0I don't think the hack has anything to do with 2FA. It is not the user accounts getting hacked, but bter's hot NXT wallet.

I use Bitstamp mainly because I like the GUI, it's easy to use and it works. You can also use two factor authentication aswell which is a bonus. Although I have not compared the fee's with any other exchanges.

Bitstamp is my favorite, I had some issues in the past with them but their customer support was fast and solved my problems. Even if I trust it and I think that BitStamp is one of the safest exchanges, I prefer to store my savings in some cold wallets.

BTC-e and Cryptsy are the ones I use primarily, but if I'm dumping coins that aren't on those sites, I have to go where they're traded. Cryptsy has a massive amount of coins to trade with and is the most practical, but sometimes having BTC-e's lower Bitcoin value or the like is favorable. BTC-e and BitFinex are actually lower than most trading sites because of the fact that they offer their traders leverage. This makes it so that someone with a leverage of x2 can trade with $200 instead of $100. While this sounds like a good deal, if you loose the $200, you have to pay back the $100 leverage. That makes for the value to be usually lower than other sites. I hate Cryptsy for many reasons, one of them is that they allways seam to pump value to useless coins and then dump afterwards. Over and over again, it alse happens that certain sh*tcoin that i have is getting pumped, and when i transfer it there, it doesnt get credited until the dump is over, even tho it has more than enough confirmations. Responses from support are allways useless, they resolve issues, but only after loss is certain. On the other hand, btc-e has shown me nothing but good experience, im only sad they removed skrill (ex moneybookers) withdraw It was so handy..

Is ot possible for an exchange to just pump & dump coins ? Are not they just a platform ? Traders can do that I believe...

At the moment I'm pretty much just using Bittrex, BTC-e, Localbitcoin and Cryptsy.
Localbitcoin is the quickest way for me to buy / sell btc, Cryptsy used to be ok back in the day though I don't use them much anymore. Mintpal probably deserves a mention.

Theoretically, the exchange can "fake" some buy or sell orders to push the price up or down. For example, there was a willy bot on mtgox and some people suggested it was the reason for bitcoin price to hit $1200.

If an exchange bot is buying at a higher margin, then wont the exchange lose itself ? If the exchange successfully create an illusion that there are lots of new buyers, it could possibly create a "fake" good news and drive the price up. And the exchange could sell the bitcoin slowly then.

its crazy how btc-e still stands. only based on the cheap rates and I remember hearing so many bad stories with them about deposits.
I`d recommend bitstamp out of everything.

I mostly use Bitstamp, it's a decent exchange for people located in Europe, they've got fast SEPA transfers, reasonable fees and the order book is deep enough even for bigger trades. I do trust them for the most part, I guess. There's also Kraken, but they're putting up so many verification hurdles that don't seem to work and their new fee structure is meh. It's not that bad, but still...

Given the ease of trading they are offering, I think a lot of people will now switch to Circle. Does anyone know whether they are showing any standard Buy/Sell rate in dashboard ? Unlike coinbase there is no API by Circle.
