Maid and any coins based on the Bitcoin blockchain are the easiest and safest to store offline.  Just deal with it as if you were dealing with Bitcoin.  Create a bitcoin paper wallet and send your Maids to this wallet.  That's it.
Later, to redeem them, use Omni Wallet.  Yep, that's it.

Yes. Until Maidsafe coins can be turned into the actual Safe coins, that the Maidsafe network will use, one needs to learn how to securely store Bitcoin.

Community Engagement Program v0.4

We are happy to announce the CEP (Community Engagement Program). The purpose of this process is to match developers with immediate and fundamental SAFE Network requirements. This will take the form of a community funded ‘kickstarter’ like process to encourage developers, designer, animators, content creators and others to bid for projects, either as teams or as individuals. MaidSafe has set aside a significant amount of MaidSafeCoin to contribute toward these projects.

Any plans for a Ledger Nano S integration for the Maidsafe token? Nowadays the only way to store the token is quite weird and not very comfortable.

Exactly this !

There should be much easier ways made available to store made off of exchanges.
For me, MAID is about the only coin that I still keep on exchanges because I have no idea how to store them offline and no confidence I will be able to access them again if I do.
Creating a simple wallet or a Ledger add on shouldn't be too much work right ?
And it might also boost interest in MAID a bit.

I have stored my MAID ina cold wallet made with omniwallet. The point is that now I don't remember at all how to get it out of there.

Yep, that's my worry exactly...
Keeping them on Polo for now

Basically the paper wallet is the best option. As long as you have the private key , there will be always a way to retrieve your coins, or correct me If I am wrong.

This is yet another red flag indicating MAID is a scam.

Using an obnoxious euphemism like "community engagement" for what is functionally just plain old-fashioned marketing is the hallmark of crypto scams.

Why not have a working product that people want to use instead of misleading them with hype for vaporware?

You know who else markets (oh sorry meant to say "community engages") vaporware to noobs?  Dash.

Dash's Evolution and MAID are the two biggest vaporware scams in crypto.  At least Tezos and IOTA have real communities and devs with demonstrated competence.

Seems that MAID never had any idea how to deliver on the promises so they have decided to delay until other projects figure out how to solve their problems. When that happens MAID will just copy-paste the solutions and avoid lawsuits that way.

MAID promised blockchainless tokens long time ago yet for some reason Byteball delivered first. It's as if MAID even didn't try. This substratum thing seems cool, I'd rather buy into it than an old and proven vapurware project.

I guess the Maidsafe/Safe project is one of the most long term projects in cryptoland - let's hope it will deliver before we are too old to enjoy the fruits of our investment!  Cheesy

Well, there are people who would disagree, there is an entire thread dedicated to the suspect that Substratum may just be a scam:

I start to suspect the same. Gave a quick look at it, they were created as an ICO (first red flag) and just in last Summer (second red flag), and they want to do something MAID has failed to do in 10 years. Not going to invest. With these kind of overly ambitious projects the best bet is to invest when they have delivered the minimum viable product and proven to the world that they can actually pull this off.

Exactly. MAID at least is really working on its project and is releasing regular technical statements about their progress - why by the way are far too slow for the standards of the cryptospace - but that's another matter. Substratum looks like a parody of this all, big red flags.

i dont care about what people say when they are talking. do you think its easy to creat such thing who will be the next internet without someone who control everything as we live today? you are not serious when you want this could be happen in ONLY 3 or 4 years. i believe in this project. if i could have 10k$ to invest in i'll do without fear. and what is a red flag for you, doest our democratie is not a huge scam? our humans right are so real, we walk on them earch time god made. what is a scam? a scam is something who turn wrong, what is a succes, its something who have only meeted luck on its way.

Again, They have a weekly update on their progress (Maybe it's little slow). It take time to deliver a revolutionary project.

I agree on both statements - it's good they have a weekly update, but progress is indeed a bit slow in such a fast moving world. They should perhaps try to hire more devs to speed it up.

I am very happy because now MAID price has reached $ 1 and I expect the price to go up and no dump so it can reach at least $ 10 in March.

don't you get it?! every single fucking shitcoin is going up these days. it means literally nothing if MAID is going up. this is a global bull market, the only sensible thing to do is to diversify into other asset classes.

I don't think MAID is a scam (it is a stupidly overused word anyways, endlessly thrown around by people who know nothing about software development and it pitfalls), but at this rate Maidsafe may only benefit my descendants Smiley
