According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

this is funny how some people are always putting scams in their messages just for the sake of create fear
and doubts in mind of people .... the fact is that those people have always an agenda in mind...
and this is certainly not for the benefit and the safety of others interested in the project.... sad

Seems that MAID never had any idea how to deliver on the promises so they have decided to delay until other projects figure out how to solve their problems. When that happens MAID will just copy-paste the solutions and avoid lawsuits that way.

MAID promised blockchainless tokens long time ago yet for some reason Byteball delivered first. It's as if MAID even didn't try. This substratum thing seems cool, I'd rather buy into it than an old and proven vapurware project.
they never delivered and i it surprising that they managed to stay up in price all this time.

Alpha 2 is live and well with support for self_encryption and a decentralized DNS. They have their own browser, email app, and way more stuff. It's not in beta though, but they have delivered quite some stuff already. No other project allows you to log in to a decentralized network but MaidSafe provides exactly that. You can also use Decorum to create a coin (without blockchain) and issue 100 million Murgut-tokens and send others 0.0000000034 of them.

https://safenetforum.org/t/project-decorum-wallet-release/18254

So don't fall for all the troll-fud in this topic. MaidSafe is currently opening an office in India where even more devs will work for the company. But creating a fully antonymous network where miners nor any other have to set any prices and limits is quite a thing to do. It's like creating a BitTorrent version without any trackers where all chunks are encrypted and no one knows who downloaded what. And by the way: next to this BitTorrent function they also support accounts and the hosting and browsing of websites. No one has ever done something before with a decentralized P2P-network. All other projects give away your IP-adres and even identity.

10 years still in alpha test, people lose faith on your project, please dump it to 1000 sat.

Most of the time was not programming or building the project but R&D and looking for funding. It was only after their crowdfund in 2014 that they could form a real team to build this thing. And only in 2015 that they decided to move from over 500K lines of code in C++ to the Rust programming language using a new architecture.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/maidsafecoin/

You say people lost faith in the project well.... they sold their MAID-tokens in 2014 for around 0.9 cent (usd) per maid. Currently they're around 70 cent which is 77 times more. They have a marketcap of 320 million usd right now so I guess it's fair to say that there's enough faith in the project. MaidSafe is opening an office today in India. They already have around 20 people working for them from all over the globe. lot of great things to come but it takes time. The development of Windows took over 6 years with way more programmers and funding. MaidSafe will surprise a lot of people when they reach beta. If you think that's taking too long now..... Feel free to follow one of the hundreds of blockchain projects out there.

You can't make such comparisons that team X did something, so team Y must do the same. They are fundamentally quite different.

Just a question - I am non-technical but really like the concept from all that I've read. I think there could be something big here. I have a few questions though -

If an enterprise or an entity does not care about all of Maidsafe UI tools, peruse browser and all the other front end stuff - can they just use the Maidsafe storage layer using the safecoin just like Storj or siacoin and use only maidsafe's decentralized, secure storage system?

Substratum looks like they are going to deliver. I'm getting very worried about Maidsafe now...

I am a long term HODL'er of MaidSAFE - bought at ICO.  I have hopes they can execute.   Substratum is a real threat in my view.
