@Hueristic
Thanks.
I think some folks don't spend the extra brain cell on this one.
Think of it this way...
Premining is like the wheel...
If the person who invented the wheel said "hey, dudes, I've figured out a way to make things role really well...and well, I'll let you use my idea, if, and I'm saying this nicely, from now on you will give me 10% of all the stuff you roll. Forever. Ad infinitum.
Pardon me Zcash?
That's why Monero just works.

@CryptoRambler:
I've noticed plenty of folks here from other countries.
If you really understood me, then you should already know the basics of premining.
Zcash is not about the trust, it's about the premine -- to me. And the lack of assured privacy.
Premining is akin to centralization at that equals risk. Dump risk. Bye-Bye Risk. Diluted Zcash with good intentions, risk.
Invest away and good luck.
As I understand it, even if you mask your Zcash sends, the receiver can unmask you, if say, Uncle Sammy wants to know if you are a terrorist.
And in the U.S. every Granny is a potential terrorist these days.
what % of ZEC was premined and what is the the distribution problem, particular to ZEC? Why mention it, unless you are simply parroting someone else and don't have a clue about the premine? The receiver cannot unmask the ZEC sender, but can make unmasking easier - not that it is. The transactional amount is not hidden, and neither is the sender IP address or node transactional data. Those particular problems make ZEC unmask-able, but it is still very difficult to do. There is no direct coin history for each coin, but the protocol needs work to be as unlinkable / untraceable as XMR

Go to the Zcash website.
Click "Buzz" in upper menu bar.
Read article from The Economist.

Evidently you are not here to do anyone's homework, as you do not know the difference between a premine and an ongoing development tax included on mined coins.

Really?
If I withhold 10% of all coins you mine, that's a premine. Okay...a post mine. Whoops.
Call it a tax, withholding, or a fee. Same difference.
And given that information, plus the lack of privacy of Zcash, I choose not to buy or mine ZEC.
Why not open a fresh mine, given the tools like Monero and get all of my XMR?
The incentive to use/mine ZEC is dulled by its development tax. It's like an impact fee. Why build in a county with high impact fees, if two miles away there are lower impact fees? Cheaper lots with a better water, better views, and lower taxes?
The ZEC developers might want to earn money based upon the product itself, the machine that makes ZEC -- not rake in the proceeds from the miners. They (the miners) will just chafe.
In the end, we all choose.
And that's the point.
I choose not to pay the Zcash tax, but to enrich the Monero Dev's instead.

Dudes, the title of this thread is very specific and not meant for your personal cat fights. Get a motel room or something...or go find yourselves a boxing or an MMA gym and satisfy your macho-ness in the ring or octagon. I dont really care but please, don't derail this thread with your drama which nobody cares about. However, people do care about useful info on XMR which this thread is meant for.
To moderator: please clean out these garbage posts.

Dude... Since ZEC is a competitor to Monero, discussion about it is pretty relevant here. Monero does not exist in a vacuum. Your post does not lend to the discussion at all.

More like, people that really consider ZEC a real, discuss-worthy competitor have a vacuum in their brain.

Disagree. If you allow a poster to go unchallenged, you lose by default. If ZEC eats Monero's lunch and I don't think it will, we will be eating crow.

Monero is time tested and will keep dominating the anonymous market. There were many coins which appeared and disappeared after some period. Just see how strong and resistant to current pump. It is kicking back timely that is by itself is showing the true strength of the XMR.

IMO XMR will be the best anon coin and will last for many years, if zcash has been mined 13 million supply like monero, te price will definitely 0.01-0.02 like monero, they are tough to keep 0.05 right now, and next dump will crash the price to 0.01, monero is the best anon tech coin

The one missing pool (in this list - moneropools.com) is Minergate...
About dwarfpool - it is very unreliable (last evidence is from today - wrong stats, down for some time, at the end - half of coins are missing, at least mine). BUT, there is a big BUT - this is the only Monero pool that offers 2 very important, very simple (and yet, suprisingly for me, very hard to find) features: workername (well only digits, but still something) and worker monitoring (incl. mail notifications)... Now I am trying Minergate, but it is very difficult for me to get used to less information and less ability to control my rigs (and thus be sure that they work 24/7). I don't even see some estimation for my 24h earnings - WTF, is this real?!?! Guys, pool owners, please - this is 2017, not 2012-2014!!!
