My wallet is running for a day and a half syncing and it hasn't passed 40 000 blocks remaining

What's the problem?

It was synced a couple of days ago I believe, and for the whole day and a half hasn't passed the 40k mark. It was 40ish k for this whole day.

Looking for a signature campaign.

Perhaps it has something to do with this:

Why pump? Nice to see it, any good news of XMR?
XMR is a currency that will soon reach values never seen before! If you have questions about the ability of Monero, remember that in the top 10 encryption, the only one that didn't rise, take this chance and buy more!

"MONERO PRICE" wall sculpture, original and unique artwork

oh wow, nice job. what is that made of? how long did it take you to create it?

is this some specific timeframe in the artwork? it would be interesting if it were the moment when you decided to buy in or something... probably a unique idea for custom art, having people tell you when they struck gold and you make the money chart for them.

if you succeed, i want my piece Wink (just kidding, i enjoy great art)

If it's stuck on a certain block, please try this:

I have the same thinking. But what is the reason that it did not rise recently?

I think the reason in part may be that Monero GUI is still in beta and there are no light wallets available. Maybe its a good thing as it allows to buy Monero cheaper, I think its a long term coin. Association with dark net might have an effect too, but what some people dont realize is how useful privacy by default coin can be for legitimate uses. Maybe a company wants to send money without competitors spying, maybe someone wants to buy a pizza without revealing their wallet size together with their real address etc.

This is a very good point. I have been struggling with good explanations of the fungibility aspect, for someone new. And this is a perfect non-illicit reason. And very sound.

[...] maybe someone wants to buy a pizza without revealing their wallet size together with their real address etc.

If Bitcoin would have had an opaque blockchain, transparent blockchains would have been ridiculed for the exact scenario you are describing. Nobody wants to reveal their balance to everyone they spent their money with, but when paying in bitcoin it is somehow not considered an issue. It must be ignorance and unfortunately people will learn the hard way.

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.

If they dont get their act together I do think though there could be some mismanagement in such a complex project.  In some other ICOs there has been trouble starting out because of team differences, I hope thats not the case here.

the biggest difference between those and monero is the fact that monero is not a start-up company. It's an open source project, in the same way that bitcoin is.

So the problems it could face would be those of disagreement in terms of development down the road, like we see with segwit and blocksize in the bitcoin community.

Why did you even bother to respond to that nonsensical post? I doubt he even checks if he gets answered, looks like he's just shooting for post count after looking at his history.

I dunno. I guess I couldn't help myself Smiley I just like the fact that after months of reading up all these coins I'm finally in a position where I can at least pretend I know what I'm talking about haha Smiley

My thoughts exactly. [quickly scribbles the thought down]

Still, even the fact that I see the mountain ahead of the anthill I just climbed, is enough for me at this point.

One thing I do know? Monero is king.
