Microsoft is acquiring GitHub!

Well this sucks, where is the official source going to reside now?

Maybe something like Gogs, Gittea or GitLab could be hosted like some of the Monero infrastructure (build server, Mattermost...)

Isn’t it better to buy private bitcoin since it’s the real crypto? I think monero is just a scam and used by bad guys? Just my opinion.

Isn’t it better to buy private bitcoin since it’s the real crypto? I think monero is just a scam and used by bad guys? Just my opinion.

1. Bitcoin Private is much newer project than Monero, their people are not time-verified, so Bitcoin Private has most chance to be scam. Monero devs team has been proven they work very accurately since 2012. Furthermore, unlike other cryptocurrency teams, Monero devs don't promise anything, even more, Fluffypony, the Monero devs leader once said like "consider Monero is a scientific experiment and it has been already failed". Never else I have met such a self-criticism in pair with excellent quality job.

2. Bitcoin Private uses previously unknown to science, so called "zk-snarks" algorithm to hide payments on the blockchain. For decades there were no scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals that analyze, verify or proof this algorithm. Also "zk-snarks" need to rely on some kind of "initialization trust" - that's exactly because ZCash devs team (uses "zk-snarks" too) made a PR meeting "to fire off initial private keys". There were pictures, videos etc. from the meeting to show ZCash devs are honest.. Are they in fact?.. From the other hand, Monero relies on well-proven CryptoNote algorithm that is known to scientific society since year 2000, when first CriptoNote articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals come to the scene. Furthermore, Monero team goes up and created "Monero Research Lab" to study scientific aspects of Monero blockchain and its privacy. https://getmonero.org/resources/research-lab/

3. This year we wait for Kovri alpha release according to the roadmap, and first mass tests of Monero over i2p (Kovri is C++ i2p implementation from scratch). https://getmonero.org/resources/roadmap/

4. Find my HUGE post few days ago where I argue why absence of anonymity is Total Huge Vulnerability for world's financial system. Transparent blockchains like Ethereum offer smart contracts on a public blockchain, adding one more layer of Total Huge Vulnerability. Opposite that, Monero devs introduces Tari, the Private Smart Contracts. Fluffypony will lead Tari, decentralizing Monero development itself from himself. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/8lgvw4/introducing_tari_a_decentralised_assets_protocol/

It seems like you was not sync with Mainnet during transaction sending. Did you know about April 6 hardfork? If no, you have to read info about it, unwind your blockchain copy to any pre-April 6 date, and start sync with Mainnet using the latest tools  found at https://getmonero.org/downloads/.

Yes this why they’re banning this coin, it’s a scam and criminals try to use it. Just use the private version of bitcoin! It’s the real thing. 😊

Webwallets are unsafe so no-one here uses it for less than pocket change. Many people have been burned for small fortunes.

If you're not sure about Monero then, go and do not come back here. Do not act as though you know the details of Monero. And if one day it is proven that monero is not a scam "You will be ashamed of your own words". We can judge for ourselves.

Now you need to be careful with investing in data. coin. Many exchanges that want to be regulated by the order will delisting this coin, which will lead to a drop in its value

No i didnt know about hardfork.. As far as i know, wallet was synced atm when i sent the funds, 2 days ago. I already installed and synced latest moner wallet gui. It shows transaction and the Prove/Check tool also show, that the coins arrived at the correct address. Over 1000 conf till now.

Unwinding would help? Blockchain is 48GB in size and its packaged in 1 file, so i cant delete just some newer files/blocks.
