Does anyone else get the funny feeling that this Mr. Swim is actually one of the AMT crew, trying to put some side-spin on this, while not coming out directly as being associated with AMT.  gag order prevents any further explanation/communication from AMT on this forum, and this Swim guy is just plain puzzling.  is it Jim or Josh, trying to make excuses and/or leak info, to buy time?  Alyssa turn on them?  the packaging guy got fed up with is $10/hr job and turned whistle blower?

doesn't make any sense at all.

also, this one is for Phinn, notice the order #333.  33 being the magic masonic number.  maybe its not a coincidence that it is a previously silent customer, with order #333, finally speaking out.

odd, very odd indeed.

Duh.... likely AMT is disguise... why?  What kind of customer deletes peoples comments in a moderated thread?

Here's an example of a post that was deleted:

Do you happen to know why they had even chosen to reply to people in a forum and not directly to their customers via email? I have an order with 2 1.2th miners. Gee if they even send me some competitor's hardware which is cheaper now id be happy.

A forum is a public arena, it seems that here they get a better understand of who's order is what and who's order they can fulfill directly without offering up settlement options via their website. It seems that if they were to email all their clients (some in the class action) then again it would result in a problem, because again that would be settling outside of the class which the other lawyers don't seem to like.  Sad  <-  Frowny face.

I am only a client of AMT, but my suggestion is to email AMT with what you'd propose as a form of settlement for your order, from the above options which I overheard while sitting in their office.

Again - my name is Mr. Swim, my order # is 333.

It is AMT's fiduciary duty to send an email to each and every customer about their current situation.

The fact that they are all communicating with this board about their issues is a complete breach of that duty.

Only a small percentage of customers monitor Bitcointalk.  In fact, even less are monitoring this thread because it is so new.

what a trainwreck and a half.  glad i had my wits about me, and decided to try them out with the purchase of a smaller miner, instead of going whole hog on one of the TH rigs.  my experience was bad enough with the $1500 purchase.

dodged a bullet for sure.

"Why?" is the million dollar question.  what do they hope to achieve in continuing to post?  still trying to explain their way out of it?  anything beyond refunds or working miners is a waste of time.

The posts seem to claim that IMET is responsible for their problems.

Which of course is very strange since they just went back to them 2 weeks ago to manufacture the Technobit boards.

So I see it as: AMT goes bankrupt and forced to liquidate whatever assets they have.  Everybody gets a settlement out of earnings from the action, that I'm sure was priced accordingly and openly.

FIN

Thank you for attending Bruno's Barn Wood Liquidation Auction.

Item #1: A seldom used hammer.
I bid $1.

Thank you for attending the auction. For those who love bolts, screws and what nuts, please attend next week's AMT auction.

Hi guys im back been a while since my last post here, you may remember that i did finally recieve a 520ghs miner from amt order number #1450,
you may also remember the poor condition it arrived in and the fact that it didnt even mine, 1 chip even burnt out on 1 card, well since then i have been promised time and time again a replacement product by joshua himself, it has been several weeks now and i have not received anything from amt, i was promised a shipping label to send the faulty miner back this was nearly 2 weeks ago, still nothing, so i would like to make everybody aware that they need to stay the hell away from amt and do not purchase a miner from them, they have no customer service and can certainly not handle returns.
ive basically been robbed over $3999 or £2800 have been wasted on this miner, i cannot believe it, i could seriously do with that money and instead its sat in amts pocket while i got sent a pile of junk, BE WARNED GUYS LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE, OH AND I ALSO HAVE MR JOSHUAS PERSONAL SKYPE IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO GET HOLD OF HIM PM ME
I HOPE YOU GUYS GET TO READ THIS BEFORE ITS CENSORED AWAY BY AMT#

Also does anyone have the details of this law firm that are dealing with amt?

We're in the process of changing our business model completely, which will only be an immediate delivery option upon receipt of payment.

That's a great plan for getting new customers, but why are you wasting effort on that? You should be focusing 120% on making restitution to your existing customers. Anyone who buys from you in the future is an idiot. You fail to ship products. You fail to adequately package products. You fail to repair broken products. You fail to give refunds. You fail at everything!

And if you think the market is too competitive at this point, we'll just have to think of new creative ideas to trump the competitors.

You've done an excellent job of taking pre-order money and delivering nothing. I suggest you continue in the same business. Offer some Scrypt miners for sale, rake in a ton of sales, and then fail to deliver them.

What are they even thinking?  'trump the competitors'?

Customers expect one of two things at the minimum:

(1) $6,000 refund
(2) 6 TH/s of working hardware

It appears that AMT has no intention of providing a refund or 6 TH/s worth of hardware.

Don't tell me that they think folks will settle with 1.2 TH/s?

I ran a calculation with a spreadsheet I was given by a very generous forum member who wants to help (I am going to ask his permission to redistribute). It covers our exact losses for the miners since the time we were expected to get them. If you placed an order...count 3 weeks from that time (as that is what they originally stated) or to be on the written side of things 6 weeks. I actually saw a -%24 ROI on my hardware over the last 2.5 months.....IF it were running. I would have actually broken even at the end the year. This is based on difficulty going up and projected bitcoin average. But in this case I based it on the current and historical prices. If I get permission I will respost it for others to use as its not my work to repost.

I don't know why AMT is so actively trying to delete posts.

What point do they have trying to 'manage the message' when they aren't communicating.

I suspect that AMT will offer four (not five) Technobit boards in compensation.

They can shove their products. The only time they do anything is when they are forced by a court.

Well the entire fiasco is spirally completely out of control.   The more they delay,  the higher customers demand on what needs to be delivered.

You can't offer $1,600 worth of equipment when a customer has paid $6,000.

It doesn't matter if its the same specs,  AMT advertised a MPP and they have better satisfy it!

I'm not concerned. I posted up a number of things last night. They opted to delete it. Its all @ https://bitcointa.lk/threads/new-official-amt-thread-2.298777/page-108 All of our deleted info is there. Actions speak louder than words. I had their back for a while with the expectation they would do right by all of us not just a select few. They are keenly aware that they might get sued more based on a number of other things so they do know to make things right...they really do not have an option in this. BUT like any business they are going to try to limit their liability as much as possible. This is a common tactic of most if not all businesses. There are a few with exceptional customer service that are the exception. Considering past behavior and comments it's hard to expect them to do otherwise.

I was told to "stop flipping out" Josh's words in an email I got this morning. I don't care if they are moving, a 2 minute email/SMS is all it takes to say hey things are hectic.... He has ALL of my contact info...address, phone, emails....if it were possible I would have given him smoke signal codes....At any rate all it took was a message (since NotfuzzyWarm, ISAWHIM and I were helping AMT with engineering issues) saying hey tried to contact you or something that stated yea we need a bit of time we are moving. In this day and age of technology and communication there is next to no excuse for not sending out a quick update.

I am pretty much beyond the point of trying to make nice here. He has not posted anything of value or anything that will make us say ok....yea if thats the case we will wait it out. No its just alot of marketing hype. I think AMT needs to understand that those of us who are techies do not respond to marketing BS and fluff. We deal with enough of it with the likes of Microsoft and other vendors who oversell and underdeliver. We are interested in solid results, evidence of product performance. My mistake was not researching that ahead of time. Now I understand this product well. I know it does not work, it was underengineered with various voltage issues. They have owned up to that.....but what will we get for it? the equivalent hardware we were supposed to get (which is now outdated for the price/performance?) In the tech world this is not how things go. Time obsoletes tech QUICK. 6 months is an eternity and an entire research cycle for many companies. They are spending the next 6 months producing product and releasing it. Sometimes even sooner. This is the case with ALL tech companies mining companies included. Moores law still applies here. If they cant compensate us to the equivalent hash rate to out perform the difficulty and get an ROI, then we lost out and in the end so will they.

That's a sad state of affairs when the one guy that went outta his way to help out Joshua Zipkin's AMT has his posts deleted by same. That's the mentality you're dealin' with here, all.

How about a mineral oil cooled server case with modular slots. Possible or no?

These will only and ONLY work with a viable design. Considering the experience we have already with the existing cooling (meaning dead spots and fried cards), what can we expect with this hardware that would make it better than previous implementations? There are alot of pieces to that.

This will take a considerable amount of proper engineering effort that has not been shown before....what has changed that would make a mineral cooled system viable here? Or even workable? You want to blow the competition out of the water, you need to start by rebuilding your reputation with those who you have wronged. SHOW us you mean all these words....THEN show off the product.....EVEN if the court surprisingly rules in your favor, the court of public opinion will ensure you don't get that chance to make anything else until you make things right. I am not a religious person but Karma applies here in a big way.

Hell if you can pull something off a prototype that works with mineral cooling I will take back all the things I said, I am man enough to admit when I am wrong. But so far with everything happening it's hard to think I am. Its just more words. If you have a prototype show us. Why ask us if mineral cooling is an option? Everyone knows its a viable path. Noone has implemented it yet in miners. Show us something workable. I don't want to wait a year for it. I wanted to be hashing 3 months ago. We all did. And still just want working hardware.
Fuck it, you're wasting your breath and under the general assumption that AMT wants whats best for their customers. They are trying to do anything possible to avoid refunds, what makes you think their 'mineral oil cooled' rig won't be riddled with issues.

It's apparent there is little to no QC/QA at AMT - they've pissed away their chances at proving they are technically inclined and trying to  do what's best for the customer at the end of the day, in terms of delivering a miner that can be run 24/7/365.

The notion of QC/QA is likely alien to AMT.  You don't learn that kind of stuff in college with a degree in Marketing.
$100 bet that there is no "marketing degree" from Penn State. Just sayin'.

I'll go one better, bud: If Joshua Zipkin produces ANY legitimate degree that he personally obtained via attending Penn State, I will send him 20 BTC.
