Something around twenty five  should be enough. But it depends on many  factors, such as the  country and the costs of  living there.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

i think like 5 bitcoins will be enough, as you should have like 500k$ then
Such a small amount i can not retire if made only 5 btc.. its not enough for me. maybe in other country that you can live long with that amount of money..
For me 50 plus is enough for me to retire in 20 years because i can start my own business and be a boss.
the best option is as much as possible, for me if i can have 100bitcoin for retirementday i will very happy with it.

best option is always to have as much as possible considering that new features are up for next year expect that if we have 100 btc in that time we will want to have more
cuz no matter now much we have it not good enough
I respect your opinion but I can tell your frankly that I would be happy to have at least 100 BTC for my retirement, I am not ambitious enough to live a luxurious life because all I want is a simple life living in a peaceful place, and I know with 100 BTC I could live a decent life already.

Not only that but having 100BTC doesn’t mean that the coins sit idly, you could invest those coins, I am not an expert so this should not be taken as advice but if a person were to invest in several bitcoin casinos you could earn BTC while doing nothing, I think the amount you can earn is something like 2% to 4%.

you are right, i think 100 bitcoins would be not enough because bitcoins is not going to be that huge, you would need at least a thousand

It depends on when you retire. If you retire in 20 years, the 100 bitcoin will be a few million US dollars.

Or nothing  if a new coin with incredible characteristics is created and everyone flocks to it, or if quantum computing has a major breakthrough and instead of 20 or 30 years arrives in just 5 years, etc.

This is difficult to predict, and  no one can actually predict  the next twenty years. However, I could say  a hundred btcs, may be enough  to have a good life.

You just said that it would be hard to predict for the next twenty years and yet you come out with a hundred btc prediction. Grin

Yes it is indeed hard to predict how many bitcoins should you have to retire in the next 20 years.  Until you have time just keep on making bitcoins.  We will never know how much each bitcoin could value in the next 20 years.  It could be higher or lower than its price today.

In 20 years you can't really imagine what will have become of bitcoin. Maybe bitcoin will be the main currency and one will be enough.
But maybe bitcoin wont exist anymore by that time, I think it's either one of those and no inbetween.

I hope so, and if we invest we do not need to sell all our investment in 20 years, it is good to save bitcoin for a long period of time but once we see there is already a substantial increase of the price that if we are going to sell we can make profit, we should grab the chance to sell.

If to retire today you'd be satisfied with $2,000,000 you'll need around 200 BTC in 20 years IMO. Of course there are some predictions that Bitcoin will cost $100k or even $500k in 20 years, but I think $10k per coin is much closer to reality.

iam retired from work offline
if iam get bitcoin, and i have bitcoin to 1000 bitcoin
i think with 1000 bitcoin can get for living with bitcoin
I think to get 1000 BTC is not easy you need a method or full-time jobs and provide a great income for you, and it will probably take many years to get 1000 BTC, I think this is a long-term plan that is quite difficult, but if you've got 1000 BTC, you will live with ease

yeah right, I think it is very difficult to get 1000 BTC, but 1000 BTC is eligible to retire within 20 years.
but for me, 100 BTC is a realistic amount for retirement. I can reach 100 BTC, and it looks it's enough for me. depending on how I can manage it and grow with the real business.

Yes, without having any idea on how much bitcoin will worth after 20 years would be harder to predict how many bitcoins we will be needing for our retirement life. Still, the idea of having some few bitcoin will encourage ourselves right now to save them as everybody believe that bitcoin will worth more in 20 years.

It depends on the country  in which you live and the  local currency. The cost of living  in the region will  make the difference.
I thought you did not need to see where you live, I think wherever you are I'm sure 1000 BTC will be enough to pay all your purposes as long as you live. so I think try to work hard and collect bitcoin as much as you can. I'm sure you can get a lot of bitcoin and live comfortably

I agree with you, before calculate how many bitcoins you need, you also need to thing about this. In my country is a bit cheap for living. So, i thing i will need around 100-200 bitcoins to retire in 20 years.

As many as possible, I suggest.  Many financial experts are predicting  that bitcoin price will rise significantly  in the nearest future, and I believe that bitcoin is one of  the best investment opportunities  available at the time.

You would be good with something like 15, but of course, the more, the better Smiley .

I think alot more then that I don't think prices will even reach 10k so 15 bitcoins would be 150k if it would be 10k each.
I think you will need atleast 40 bitcoin if you want to retire later by bitcoin but maybe it will even die out who knows.

You would probably need around 10 Bitcoin at the rate that it is going, 10 Bitcoin will be worth a lot in 20 years.

I guess 10 BTC was very little for the next 20 years. BTC maybe we should have more than that. bitcoin prices are likely in the next 20 years will be very high, so if you can collect a minimum of 100 BTC at the time, maybe you can build a business that is promising and could make you enjoy their old age

how much do you think it is going to worth in 20 years? many say $4000-5000 so only if that happens you will have 40K-50K dollar and that is not such a big amount to retire now with especially with the inflation rate in 20 years.

so assuming the price is not going there and the inflation is still there i say you need a lot more than 10 bitcoin.
