Bitcoin price is unpredictable. We can set a time for it. It may goes down,or goes up quickly. By the way, keep that 2BTC now,maybe gonna give you a high price for incoming 20 years. the bitcoin price is very unpredictable, in next 20years bitcoin price can rise +9999% or -9999%i think use "only bitcoin" for retirement day is bad idea, we must have other currency like U.S. dollar , other invest ment like gold, to preparation for the worst situation (bitcoin price fail) . No one can predict what will be the best amount to hold after 20 years as no one is sure whether bitcoin will be alive till then or not. |

I think you must have not less than 5k btc but we never know what happen to bitcoin price in the next 20 year could be back to $0.001 or more high than $1000 and if may i to suggest don't keep bitcoin for the next 20 year and you better keep the real money for you life... |

It depends on what the price per Bitcoin is at that moment and with how much money you want to retire with. Lets say the price is $5000 with in 20 years, that means that with 100 you would have $500,000 which is not bad at all.
$5000 seems to be the price that is difficult to achieve, you have to imagine the next 20 years the price of at least $1000, so you need more bitcoin, 1000 bitcoin very decent. $5000, i think he is not talking about 5000 BTC. But if he is telling that 5000 BTC, so it is too much biggest amount. i think no one have this amount of bitcoins in Bitcointalk. For me reasonable bitcoin 1000 Bitcoin is enough but we are saving for 20 years, it is long time period, if we save now 100 Bitcoin in this time i m sure it is also enough amount for 20 years. yes I know, they not talking about 5000 BTC, and you can see my reply, did I say about 5000 BTC? I mean you have to think about the smallest price in the next 20 years, say $1000, so you must have 1000 bitcoin in the future. because $5000 is the price that is difficult to achieve. but if you are talking about someone in this forum has 5000 BTC, I think there must be, the number of members in this forum very much, and it's very possible. We cannot afford to think of that long, as we don't know how long is the life of bitcoin, and whether it will be alive after next 20 years or not. Yes but you can that say about any prediction. If you think of it long enough it becomes a philosophical question, but still we can make some predictions just for the fun of it IMO. So my prediction is around 100 BTC will be more than enough to retire in 20 years if you are not going to live a life of a billionaire of course. |

for me i just need 20 BTC , but btc price must be 1000$/BTC before i consider retiring, with that 20BTC i can live in far remote place where i can just relax , do fishing and enjoy bonding with my family
