Today I first time heard about the FCN. Can you tell me competitive advantages of this coin
Is not that enough? Specifications:
- PoW algorithm: CryptoNight (64-bit CPU-only); - 60 sec blocks; - emission curve 22 => 50% coins will be emitted in 6 years; - block reward decreases according to the formula (264 - 1 - A)*2-22*10-12 where A = supply mined to date; - difficulty retargets every block; - merged mining with Bytecoin (BCN), Monero (BMR, MRO), QuazarCoin or any CN based coin. New blockchain needs no additional hashpower - it uses Bytecoin/BCN, Monero/BMR, QuazarCoin/QCN blocks or shares as PoW. Miners are free to choose "donor" chain they like. In case other chains based on CryptoNote will appear they also can be used as "donor" chains. PS You should read the first post in the topic before asking such questions

Why you want to buy coins if you can mine? I think this is a much better option

In addition to what the other posters said, other advantages include: - Anonymous transactions using cryptonote technology
- CPU-based. I see that as an advantage because many people are not doing this, giving you a greater potential to getting coins
- Can be merged mined (MM) with other coins

Errr, I get 7h/s with the fantom miner and 80+ with the monero miner. No contest.

Hey guys!
Please update your binaries - new version is released - introducing faster hash function (MRO like)
THANKS!!!! Working great on Ubuntu 14.04 and Xubuntu 14.04. You rock!

@ amphibian
Hi there. I want to try to solo mine FCN with BCN/QCN.
FCN+BCN I managed to start hashing, but hash is rather low for old Intel E5200 (2 cores, no HT) 2,6 H/s... I didn't run a daemon at background. After it, I tried to star FCN+QCN and got the message "no donor block..." again no any daemon in background. Returne to the first case which I managed to start hashing but this time, the same message...
After it I tried QCN and none with quazarcoind running in background and hashing started. Then I tried FCN+QCN and both corresponding daemons running in the background and it started. Didn't want to start FCN+BCN cause as we all know BCN is memory killer...
So, what's the proper way? Could you tell me do I need to place SoloMiner in specific diretctory like in donor's or acceptor's? Do I need to run daemons of any in the background?
From what I've read here, I guess the answers are no on both questions, right?
Pasted from GUI miner thread... On top of this, I tried to solo mine FCN and QCN using daemon and opening a wallet then used a command and just 1 thread to see hash-rate... FCN gives around 10 H/s and QCN around 15 H/s... Much more than solo miner. With two threads everything gets too slow. Memory problem, however I belive the hash-rate doubles. The finding corresponds to using the minergates client which gives around 15 H/s for QCN. Think there's more room for optimization. Used the latest binaries ofc. Just want to help. And would be really grateful for your answer, very interested in this project.

Regarding the hashing speed - as I stated earlier - today (or super early tomorrow) I will release SoloMiner with a new hash function (similar to FCN daemon) which will increase the hashrate drastically. Thanks for your interest. Cheers.

Also, can confirm the new binaries are doing great! Little less older CPU is doing great on them giving 75 H/s stable with 7 threads (Core i7 920). As for solo mining using the binaries - I start the daemon, let it sync then the wallet, load my wallet .bin and I type in the start_mining X (x being the number of threads) and it will mine for my address?

Whoohoo! QCN+FCN, thread count is 7 on the mentioned Core i7 920 and hashrate is around 70 H/s... The quazarcoind.exe runs in the background, no insane memory impact changed the node for FCN from 127 to 90 and it started hashing! That's just 5 hash less than 75 H/s I get if I mine only FCN using it's daemon. But that's the small price to pay for doubling the chances to find the block on one of the networks. Yep, it works flawlessly! Thanks. Cheers mate!

Somewhat around 18.4m coins. Don't recall the exact amount.
