Hi everyone, new to this. I am wondering how I can go about mining this? Can it be mined on CPU, AMD and Nvidia?
We are currently at the POS stages. It will go back to POW at 50k block. You can mine it then as per normal =) It has 2 stages of POW for a fairer distribution. Maybe less then 10 day? Welcome to Silkcommunity =D Put down your SC add on your Sig too

Hey guys, my silkcoin wallet still crashes on launch. i checked the roaming folder and it doesn't seem to be creating any files in the roaming directory. anyone have a solution? tried restarting.
First of all always back up your wallet.dat file. I use a batch file to launch my wallets... Make a file like silkcoin.bat... start silkcoin-qt -datadir=.\ Make sure your wallet.dat is in the directory... Run it... let me know The wallet has never actually successfully run so i don't even have a wallet.dat Your bat is just a shortcut. I'm running win7 ultimate x64. tried disabling antivirus/firewall. is there some sort of stupid dependency needed? like some sort of .net framework, or C+ library, etc? All I get is the silkcoin splash window and then it disappears.

I bought in at 3000 SAT... This will be a dream price in a week... once this baby hits mintpal... there will be no leftovers for the newcomers
We need to spread the word on this coin so as many people get the opportunity to get some early. I know what its like to miss out on a popular coin, i missed out on BC, XC and DRK. Im happy i invested in time for this coin, its looking great!

I'll be waiting with you Anyone know when POS phase will be over? any estimates? The current Proof of Stake ends in about 12 days. It will be followed by a 7 day PoW/PoS phase before switching to PoS. If you download the wallet you can go to statistics and see the current phase information. On the technical side the second PoW starts at block 50,000. We are on block 32,254... 50,000-32,254=17,746 Blocks left... We do about 1440 blocks per day (24*60). So 17,746/1440 = 12.32 days. Hope this helps! Judge Crypto

Hi everyone, new to this. I am wondering how I can go about mining this? Can it be mined on CPU, AMD and Nvidia?
The second proof of work stage starts in about 12 days... Last PoW I mined at IPOMiner.com. For now you can mine at www.hashco.ws When you login go to account settings and set your payout address to SC. Then you will be rolling in Silk! Judge Crypto

I've tried, compatibility mode, placing it on the C drive (god knows why that would matter), redownloading, adding exceptions to firewall/AV, deleting boost directory. Oddly enough, that boost directory is not recreated when I try to open the wallet. As I mentioned before, there are no files created in the roaming directory in the silkcoin folder. (no dat, blockchain, nada)

Have you tried booting Windows into Safe Mode & running the SilkCoin Wallet? If that works, reboot & try running the wallet in normal Windows mode. If it doesn't work, it may be a software conflict that needs trouble shooting. Are you running any specialist database or network software? I have seen issues before with a wallet conflicting with a running ODBC Service. It could be something similar in your case. Also, which wallet are you trying? The original wallet or the updated wallet recently released?

Your error is quite weird, there's one last thing you can try : Delete the whole content of appdata/roaming/silkcoin folder and relaunch. (Keep your wallet.dat if you have one!) Tell me if it works, if not send me your Debug.log file by MP I'll continue to assist you.
