If I struck a nerve with some of you then maybe that's a good thing.  If you earn the money, yet let your wife tell you what to do with it, then maybe you should grow a pair and tell her it's none of her business.  If she doesn't like the answer then she can go out and earn her own money.

Sad.

BTW for a period of time my wife made more than I did.  I guess under that logic I should have had no say in the household finances.  Lucky for me even with her masters degree I finally make more than her so I can finally keep her in the kitchen where she belongs (barefoot of course).

Yeah it's sad alright.  Rampant feminism has pussified men in the US.

(If you weren't working and she was then absolutely you have no say.  It's her money.  Make your own money.)

I think that's a fine way to look at things when you're not married.  But IMO, once married, it should all be shared equally.  Just as I might be working full time, my wife is working part time at another job, and full time (more than full time, really) as a house cleaner/maintainer and a child care giver for our daughter.  No, she doesn't make any money doing those things, but she works just as hard as I do getting things done that need to be done.  I'm not going to laugh in her face and say "haha, make your OWN money!"  That's just a terrible way to view a relationship, IMO, and I can't see any relationship like that lasting very long.

It has nothing to do with feminism, and everything to do with married people sharing the workload and benefits with each other in a loving way.  If you don't understand that, then I feel sorry for you, because it's highly unlikely you'll find a woman compatible with that point of view.

I just want to point myself out here as being the exception to the rule (as usual).

I'm an American, but I believe in a mutual relationship where all matters are discussed and decided on maturely, and when the significant other is not at a point in their life experiences that they can have a mature argument, you help them in educating themselves to the point that they can. That is a loving relationship. When such a situation cannot be possible, I would never consider the relationship.

What kind of girls are these "American pussies" dating? I guess I can happily say I am not an American pussy. I'm an American dick.  Grin

Hey whatever works for you.  My point is if the Rig Box ever comes to fruition, and I want to buy one, I will.  I don't have to get "permission".  Permission with my own money?

Now THAT's sad.

So become libertarian. That way, even when you have someone you love and want to care for, you don't have to have any responsibilities for them and can be reckless and carefree with your money everyday!

No seriously though, you're talking about dating, and no, I don't think anyone is arguing that you don't need permission from your girlfriend. But wife? Well... marraige is kind of a complicated contract based on balance and management of resources, and I don't think you can argue that "my money" is the only parameter to take into consideration.

What if your daughter has a disease that needs medicine and you only have enough to buy the medicine, but you want to buy a rig instead? Doesn't your wife have a right (through marraige and the sharing of responsibilities) to take a stand against your ignorant spendthrifting?

That said, if you're RICH and all the bills are paid, that's a different story. I'll never let a girlfriend or wife convince me to stop flying planes solo, riding motorcycles, or skateboarding. I don't try to stop them from having periods.

Let's keep the relationship/financial discussions out of here; this isn't the place. If you guys want to start a new thread (not in Mining>Hardware, if this needs to be spelled out) where it belongs, go crazy.

BFL has already adjusted their original estimates on the Rig box based on their finding from the single and are quite confident this time around.

Why?
The OP hasn't said so - and no this thread wasn't created by a BFL representative (or you Tongue)
Also if you look back at the OP's posts he's asked a few reasonable questions, a couple that BFL haven't even bothered to answer ...

GPUs are off. Also, took the time to unplug the delta case fans,  It's so quiet.  I didn't realize how loud those 5970's were.

So happy  Smiley

You should sell those obsolete 5970s.  Better hurry though before word gets out how noisy and ancient they are.

Well, I only have two, but with the delta fans it was noisier than I like it. Now with the singles, it's the sound of silence.

If interested in the 5970's PM me.

Are people expecting the secondary market to be flooded with GPU's once singles are being easily accessible?

And all the miners with free power and cooling. I'm surprised at how many there seem to be.

Eventually, most people's momfare checks run out eventually. I really think these singles are game changers for building up mining clusters, curious what other people's thoughts are.
