Cryptocoin team looks good.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

To anyone who thinks this coin wasn't premined - of course it was, they just didn't call it that.  The first couple thousand blocks had a 500 coin reward, then 400, then 300, if I remember correctly.  And since no one really knew of CRYPT in its first few days, the early developers got it all.  So it is in effect a premine without technically being one.

If I ever started a coin, you can believe I would scam the hell out of it and pump it and dump it like no one has ever pumped and dumped before.

And furthermore, if the developers really wanted to have a fair and honest release, they would put the block reward for the first 5000 blocks or so down low, to something like 10-20 coins per block, and raise the starting difficulty a bit, maybe to 100 or 200.

But they didn't do that here.

[17:42] <@cryptowest> whales move slowly... they dont care about a tiny price drop over 2 or 3 days
[17:42] <@cryptowest> its them that have to OK the announcement
[17:42] <@cryptowest> investor backing etc blah blahb blah

So the whale investors are deciding when the coin thread gets updated, and they "move slowly". That is a strange path for the technical development of a coin to be taking, delaying technical updates so that whales can "OK" the announcement. Im surprised cryptowest even admits that on IRC..

Quote
[17:32] <@cryptowest> we have a professional media studio that already finished a really nice video for crypt commander, and are now working on a video for anon

lol, now they working on a "video", what a load of BS, how about actually working on the coin features that you guys announced months ago and not working on releasing 2 BS videos. what a joke. The time for promotional videos is long gone. Wink

Quote
[17:46] <@cryptowest> ill do my best to speed it up
[17:46] <@cryptowest> as im also losing a bit on this slump

things might actually really get sped up now, as cryptowest is also losing now on this slump, and that's not on at all.

Quote
[17:43] <@cryptowest> moosa has been AWOL for weeks

I bet hes off spending his "biggest ROI ever" , that's what id be doing after all the FUD attacks. Smiley

According to the comments, one of the team members (mr_projects) runs a video production studio. There's no reason to assume he's a coder, so this is a way he can contribute to PR once they release, and there's no reason to assume that takes effort away from stuff he can't contribute to anyway.

Why is that weird? If they're the one putting up the money, then it's natural they want to line everything up the way they want it before going ahead. Ever run a startup with VC money? I have. Largest company I co-founded took in about USD 30 million from VC's. You can bet your ass they insisted on having a finger in every major launch decision, but you know which investors are always the most troublesome?

Not the VC firms investing $10 mill each, but the guy who put in $10k. That's the guy that will be calling you to yell if you don't do things exactly how he thinks it should be done (the reason is for most "$10k guys", $10k matters; for most VC fund partners, a $10 mill investment will be one of a long list where they expect 90%+ to become worth 0, and it's not their own money)

I'd imagine any whales involved in this will be "$10k guys", not people investing other peoples money. So they will want to be heard.

As pointed out: mr_project - one of the team members - works at or runs a studio. So why not? If the commander and anon features are worthwhile, then getting the word out fast and wide will matter, and presumably it's cheap and not taking time away from the guys actually doin the coding.

Yeah. And was thinking. There's this Crypt project. And there are guys involved that don't live with each other, and maybe have jobs/commitments and a life outside of it, or something. Maybe they are cleaning their computers out, and looking for breaches. And maybe a bunch of people spam them saying"are you done yet" or "where's my money?" or "any news?"
 "why don't you say anything?"

Then you do say something, and people paste it and use it to say the coin is mooning or to say it sucks and the devs are scammers or whatever, and people keep bugging you. And you still have another job, or a family, and the other dev hasn't gotten back to you yet. Eventually you would just get quiet.

Imagine you suddenly are on "the team" As soon as you are, you will get flooded with requests for hints as to what's going on. And a lot of hate or love.

But meanwhile you still need to work on problems like "are we secure" and "are we ready to release" And someone that just bought some is bugging you about what you should do next. Cryptowest's position imo was that they have lockdown on announcements as they do damage control, and he was letting us know what he was doing, and he tried to answer peoples questions.

And everyone is
any news
any news
any news
any news

I do think as Crypt gets ready to make a statement, they should start a new thread to start the new chapter.

Maybe we could have some constructive dialogue.

And Im holding

New Update!!
7/23/2014

Announcement: In light of the recent events that took place, there were accusations that the team behind Cryptcoin has abandoned the community. These accusations are completely false and have no base to them. The Cryptcoin team has been working very hard to get new and innovative features implemented but FUD attacks slow down our progress but it will not stop us from implementing our innovative tech. Thanks for your patience and support and sorry to those who were harmed by the FUD attacks.

Are you joking with this? If you were working hard this whole time, why did you stay quiet and let the price panic dump to what it is right now...or did you get those orders from chief Pr0metheus too? You guys didnt even log in for a month, and actually Attious was the first person to log in, which is still baffling.

"Why is that weird?"  = because moosanyc has already claimed this is his own personal project not linked to anyone else, but now everything is being delayed by "whales" " investor backing etc blah blahb blah" , so for whales to be holding back an announcement that would increase the price then you must be saying they WANT the price to fall more, or am I misunderstanding you?

So why not make a video? = because we have already seen demos and crap like that, yes release a video, a video of some actually working and released features, not more "wait and see" , if they really want to release something cool the best way to shut up the fudders would be to stop talking about stuff for months and actually release something..if they were months off releasing anything why announce it so long ago, a much better plan would have been for moosanyc to pay for something to be created that works , THEN announce it. then he would have some trust. but instead he talk and talks and uses different accounts, then keeps talking about whats coming, then shuts up completely, and now we hear that they might be releasing a video, months later after announcing anon, nice one, that's the way to gain some trust 250 pages later!!
