what is stingray?

Stingray is basically a mini-cell phone tower/network/access point in a box... or it can be more advanced with a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) (for example, at a stadium, sporting event, etc)

It does a man in the middle attack, picking up your text (as clear as day btw)... your data and your calls (metadata on this is captured real-time, who you called, how long you talked, etc)

XC will play a key part in protecting against this intrusion with its 2 way encrypted protocol
nice..people are just waiting for this kinda stuff, i know i am.

good to know. I can't wait for XC to be 100% ready with Android app, we all could use this technology to the fullest.  Grin

XC TRADING ON BTER!

June 6, 2014 JP Buntinx
It looks like the big exchanges are looking to add “smaller” coins lately. While this is a very interesting development, it also poses the question “why now?”. Regardless of that, it’s good to see XC on BTER!

A lot of XC community members had contacted bigger exchanges, including BTER, and asked if they could add XC to their trading pairs. Apparently, this worked out quite well  which is refreshing to say the least.

Most of us have realised that there is more money flowing into Crypto coming from Asia, or more specifically, China. While the US is still being considered to be the “Crypto Hub”, they are steadily losing ground.

What also piqued my interest, is the fact that BTER gives a 1% deposit bonus. I’m not entirely sure if this is just for XC or other coins as well, but it’s still a very nice gesture to have more people coming in and depositing some coins.

Definitely a big feather in the cap of the XC team and community. It will be interesting to see how much interest this will bring to the coin, not just on BTER, but on other exchanges as well. We will keep you updated on any further developments.

XC donations are welcome to : XKjAHTgN3hKTBGNKRsVJiQM2AMGR3R23Et

thanks, we make this happen.

so next step is another Chinese exchange platform  btc38.com

I'm starting to think that a way to get a beat on other coins would be to make the code open source.  Does cloning really have a negative impact on the coin being cloned?  Look at Litecoin for example. There's nothing innovative about it and it's cloned all the time, yet it's still the number 2 coin.

Cloning won't work right now anyway because it's constantly being updated and improved.
Maybe in time, after there was time to build a solid base, name & related infrastructure.
I would already be really happy with a serious peer review. If someone with the reputation of Gmaxwell says it is good, who needs open source?

But the code is owned by ATC, only he can decide.

A peer review is always suspect no matter what the reputation of the reviewer is.  In the crypto world every one has an agenda.  Kickbacks and payoffs are part of any industry, and crypto is probably much worse.
Think the same applies to Open Source, how many here are skilled enough to read, understand & predict the outcome of code like this?
For most there comes a time you need to trust the experts, good or bad, there arent many around

Yep, those who can't read need the experts, that's the way it is in everything.

I fail to see how peer review is suspicious... is it better not to have peer reviews? The more the better, and from reputable people even better...

You fail to see how a review of something that is closed to the public would be suspicious?  I don't even know how to answer that.
I do want to learn and by no means attack you or anyone else. I you can think of any 'starting point' i will try to educate myself more before continuing this.
But you are right with your conclusion, yes at the moment i do put trust in reviews by others if they have the right (in my eyes) trackrecord.

dev you mean the innovative XC encrypted protocol? i am interested in this.

Mobile communication use OFDM technology, they also have some encrypted protocol?

seems really great.

then nobody can wiretap your cell phone....

How long b4 android wallets Dev???

I don't think this should be a priority, imo.  Yes, I think mobile is the future, but right now mobile wallets are irrelevant.  Until I can walk to RiteAid and pick up my legal drugs with crypto, I don't need a mobile wallet.  Unless I'm missing something.  The core infrastructure is the most important at this point.

the android wallet will be annon like the other wallets so when he finishes the annon i'm guessing, baby steps, do it right the first time and you dn't have to do it again, if your worried about the price dn't, this is a long term investment.

yes, the most important thing is still the fully functional Anonymous XC wallet....

but we should wait more time for this big thing.

also if we want huge success, then we can release the source code(with some vital bug just as NXT coin, people then can find the bugs)+ Professional white paper.

but this should not happen until XC is strong enough... Smiley

Hi, help requested.

It looks like avast killed QTcore4.dll.

When I launched the client it said it was missing.

I put the dll again and then I had "missing entry point".

I can't launch the client.

I tried to uninstal/install again i deleted the roaming folder but wallet still not working.

I almost launched once and avast killed it again.

Every other client are fine

Thanks.

Put file/folder on exclusion list in antivirus and no problem.

Is there a rollout plan with approximate dates for the enhancements planned?

I think it would really help investors choosing this coin if this was made public knowledge along with regular updates from the development team with their current progress. A weekly progress report and updated plan should be the minimum.

Is the development team working full time on this or is it just a hobby for one guy? No disrespect - just trying to find out what is actually happening.
