XC is first by volume in mintpal now, but price isnt going up still.. i think we should see nice pump (~300k) before monday like we saw before July 7th. And I hope that we wont back to same level (130k).
LOL, May god bless us. Can someone link the release details?

If you're worrying about the short term price so much, you aren't seeing the bigger picture. Change your life. Change the world. All in the same day. One REV at a time. #XC

Here's the gist of it, as far as physical infrastructure is concerned: Meshnets: "Laying cable lines is rather expensive; we would have to unearth concrete and pavement each time someone moved and lines needed to be moved or upgraded. As wireless technology advances, however, the price of powerful WiFi routers will reach a point where they can effectively replace copper wires for the middle class in relatively urban areas. Instead of connecting to a modem installed by your Internet service provider, these routers connect directly to each other, or to long-range routers designed to reach past unpopulated terrain where no users live."

In the updated OP it now says 1000XC is the requirement for trustless mixing all the time. Is this final?
1000 XC for xnode do make sense because you will earn XC if run as a xnode. Yup, it's 1000 XC. This amount is still somewhat provisional. Also, if XC's value increases, it's very likely that the required balance will decrease.

I think you should keep it constant mate.. 1000 makes sense to me, keep it a round number and incentivise holding a reasonable number of coins...
Liking the OP.

Indeed. My guess is that it'll stay 1000 for a while. There's no obvious reason to change it. Glad you like the OP. :-)

Glad you like the OP. :-) I know all nodes mix based on volume and that mixers only are backups in case of low volume but I still don't think the communication around this is sharp enough. Could the team make a diagram or a cartoon that everyone easily can understand? Just as not to get confused with DRK Master Nodes.

It's great to see new OP Synechist, would it be possible to update the op every time as new wallet releases come available with the new features? Would be nice to see those yellow balloons pop into green phase in real time during releases and progress It's really nice to see mobile wallets released before rev 3 too, has the work on those already begun?

If only an altcoin project was working on an app that targeted a service everyone use their phone for, making that service free to ensure wide adoption and then used that adoption to create a platform where each phone in a network could broadcast content. Making the app connect to wifi where available by a blockchain based protocol that with encryption protected the owner of the wifi-router against knowing what content users were looking at and broadcasting, thus legally shielding him. The developer of such app should preferably be someone who has experience within the field of loss-less wireless data transfer and mobile broadcast with military security. But who could that be?

Yeah that should be possible. When things get delayed is when larger changes are necessary, because then I have to re-slice everything and hand-write the bbcode. And Bitcointalk is idiosyncratic at best in handling hyperlinked images, so it takes ages. Small changes like that should be easy. You can expect updates on mobile wallet development before too long. ;-)

You're right, it would allow more people to run a mixer node. On the other hand, putting the minimum balance at 1000 effectively means: Buy XC now while you can afford it!In addition, I reckon that the factor that'll drive the setting up of more nodes is primarily the renumeration they provide, not the minimum balance. If the income is worth it, then since people generally have the ability to buy 1000 XC, they'll do so. And the higher minimum is good for XC's price, so I reckon 1000 XC is a good bet for now. We will, of course, gauge the response. The amount isn't final.

We will, of course, gauge the response. The amount isn't final. The size of the pool must support that the fee charged will cover the electrical bill of keeping it running 24/7. Therefore especially in the early years this barrier to entry will create a oligopolistic market situation that incentives or in plain English keeps running a mixer profitable. Over time the cap can be loosened to let the market adjust this, maybe even at some point rather than a minimum cap a maximum cap should be placed to keep the mixers decentralized but the price would have to go up substantially first.

You need mixers with that much coins so that # of input can be within a reasonable size if you want send a large amount of XC around. Can you imagine if you want to send say 100k XC and all the nodes are only at 500? The transaction will need a HUGE # of inputs to mix that many coins I would think.... Each input in the blockchain will take up around 100 bytes... Most of the times, the # of out output is greater than the input, so... we might need some mixers that have larger amounts of XC in there to help with moving large transactions. Maybe bonus fees for mixers with higher XC in there.
