I have rx480, windows non-whql-16.9.1-Sep7 driver and nicehash 5.5.0
Did anyone manage to accomplish such simple thing as: sgminer --gpu-fan 50
I was also unable to set clocks and voltage with this. Is it supported?

Well, thanks. However, I am still looking for neat command line utility, capable of setting fans, clocks and voltages. Sgminer worked like a charm with R9 2xx cards, I really liked that and kinda got used to it. So is there a fork of sg/cg/whatever miner, that supports calls to the driver of Polaris' cards?

Can someone tell me if sgminer supports scrypt algorithm?
I have rx480 rigs and it is the only one that supports rx480 for other algorithms.

Do not mine scrypt with RX 480. It is not profitable. The Scrypt is only profitable to mine with ASIC.

Isn't EthOS a linux based thing? How this program will help under Windows?  Huh

I would suggest WattTool:

Hello,

Would I be able to effectively use sgminer on a x11 algo with a rx 480 gpu in windows?

I tried a few things but the hash rate is almost nothing.

Thanks for your input

X11, and all the X algos except x17, are for ASICs only.

This is not true, I used to mine X11 with a gpu up until a few moths ago when the asic's came out... it won't be profitable, but it's possible

you can still mine x11 with GPU's i tried the other day on nicehash to see if you could but like others say there is no point in it sense there is a X11 ASIC miner.

this site still has x11 software miners for AMD Cards if want to give it a try .

think about it: you can even mine bitcoin with cpu
it won't be profitable, but it's possible :-D

sgminer with the widest range of supported algorithms is maintained by NiceHash, see here: https://github.com/nicehash/sgminer/releases

Trying to use SGMINER 5.5 latest release on any Neoscrypt coin I get the following error:

Error in hsa_operand section, at offset 3384:
Address offset exceeds variable size
LLVM ERROR:
Brig container validation has failed in BRIGAsmPrinter.cpp

Press any key to continue . . .

This on 290X's. The same miner runs fine on any other coin algo.

I'd like to ask what is the current status of qubit algo support?
As far as I know the stock version supports it, but the implementation is lacking optimisation and thus mining is an energy waste.
There is an optimised version here http://cryptomining-blog.com/4819-new-sgminer-with-optimized-quark-and-qubit-kernels/ but this is Windows® only.
There is something at nicehash, but linux version points out to stock sgminer.
Wolf0 has something https://ottrbutt.com/miner/qubitwolf-03162015.png
but will not give out
No, SGMiner must be modified. CL files are sources for bins, which I do NOT give out.

My question is: did things get changed since March 2015? Does it make any sense to use AMD cards on Linux to mine qubit?

No, it doesn't. There are ASICs for that.
