P2Pool compatibility?  Possible?  Yes? If so, any idea why BFGMiner/CGMiner all get banned shortly after their start with the RK-BOK?  No?  If not, any word on compatibility in the works?  Anybody?

I think they should first work on those 10%+ rejects we all are dealing with,
it's nice to see a better unit, but it still has these rejects as seen on the pics....

agreed. its unfair to advertise unit such as the rk-box to be running 450-480GH when the actual accepted hashrate is only 390-425GH considering the 9-13% reject rates ive seen

Yeah i agree. I also found excessive thermal paste on some units that was interfering with the chips. Is it necessary to use that much?

But not all RK-Box units are running at 430 GH. Here is one nice unit i am running:

This one is averaging at 450+ now

R3 is suppose to be a lot more stable, will post pictures tonight.

klintay, what is your cgminer command line?

cgminer.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 -o stratum.d7.lt:3333 -u iloveppcoin.2 -p 12345 --rmu-freq=320

Using the modified fork of cgminer as well that was provided by Rockminer. It is actually hashing at 460 average now. I think it just depends from unit to unit.

Thanks, where did you get that version of CGMiner? I can't remember where I got it, but the one I download from the main site seems to be different.

UPDATE: Think I found it: https://github.com/rockminerinc/cgminer-for-R-BOX/blob/master/cgminer-win0.3.1.zip

If you bought from Minersource.net, they normally warranty whatever they sell.

Yeah that is the one mate. It seems to work better than the proper cgminer for me at least.

WHEN IS THE 10-15% REJECT RATE ON THE RK-BOXES GOING TO BE ADDRESSED???

Also this 10-15% issue. Is it a case of the cgminer not being properly configured to work with these chips? Can it be fixed with software patch...

My fan speed controller wasn't PWM so I didn't implement it, but I did replace the fan with a 12V 0.6A fan I had lying around (powered from the PS) and it is much quieter. It doesn't move as much air but the noise levels are tolerable. I did order the PWM controller linked above by Klintay and will use it when it arrives, but for now this is needed for my sanity. The blades are running at 58C or lower when clocked to 320Mhz. Also at 320Mhz after running over 8 hours:

Also at this configuration with a Bronze rated PS I am drawing 505W at the wall.

Update: It ran great all night but the temps kept climbing. I have re-installed the original fan.

Ok, so I'm still having my miners crash out. I did have 2 PSUs die, so I replaced them and I was hoping that that was the issue but it does not look like it will be that easy. I re-flashed my sd card, I'm using a known good USB hub, but I'm still having issues. The 6 R-Box miners are the only mining devices running.

Here are some screen shots. In the first one you can see that they were working fine until I got my new PSUs in and hooked up the 2 that I suspect are bad.

Then see that not one failed and does not report in the system check. (shortly more will go off line)

On the devices page it shows so many devices that I don't have. The number keeps growing.

Just got my R3 miners and they are hashing beautifully. Simply plug and play and within minutes we are getting 500+ GH!!!

THANK YOU ROCKMINER!!!!

Here are some pictures:

Screenshot of cgminer in webUI:

infact i think these will top 500+ GH no problem. I will post an update after leaving it hashing overnight...so we can see the true speed of this beast  Wink

What alternatives to cgminer are there for the R-Box? I mine other sha256 currencies, and the new versions of cgminer (the ones that support the R-Box) are Bitcoin only.
We only support mining bitcoin, but cgminer can't really tell apart an altcoin mining sha256 from mining bitcoin so there really is nothing stopping you using it.

Unfortunately when mining solo, cgminer now requires the --btc-address flag, which restricts it to Bitcoin (or so I was told). I mine most alt-coins solo.

It's just the name of a command line parameter. cgminer doesn't check it's actually bitcoin, it just asks whatever the *coin daemon is you're connected to if it's a valid address.

One more note... The "special" version of CGMiner doesn't work well with both an R-Box and an RK-Box attached, as the R-Box doesn't like frequencies higher than 290. So if you try to run both boxes at over 290, it automatically kicks everything back down to 270. Now I gotta figure out what to do with my R-Box since running at 330 yields about the same as running both boxes at 270.
