Just checked - that port is closed. Looks like I can't run NCC on my university WiFi then... -_-
You can run the software. It just means you are not fully supporting the network. Or do you experience problems sending or receiving transactions? Yes I do... I've been sent test NEM and nothing has arrived. Will you be able to make the 3 week deadline?

So long as I have access to and store those keys. I just won't necessarily be able to access it on this WiFi... Correct me if I'm wrong!

Same in on every public WiFi. You will need to use a private WiFi. In order to make any tx's It's a very bad idea to be messing with private keys or accessing any crypto on a public network.. Try to avoided that at if possible.

Yeah I know, unfortunately I have no choice! :/ Is there any possibility you can get your machine plugged into an Ethernet jack somewhere on your campus? Even if it's only temporary just to try things out. I think that might help solve your problem.

You can run the software. It just means you are not fully supporting the network. Or do you experience problems sending or receiving transactions? It is Very difficult to configure. I put my ip and change the firewall, try to find the problem with static wifi.... I have experience in repairing computers and i want to have a 24h / 7 node in full swing. I'll keep trying. If I have problems to connect to nem node, it is best to format windows and perform a backup with acronis true image. Also install adblock plus complement and avira browser safety with a great avira antivirus free. To encrypt and hide your secret document, is good Folder vault, even better to have the minimun secret document in your hdd. And Do not use your computer to download porn!

This isn't NXT. Your private key / secret phrase isn't transmitted over the network, so it doesn't really matter what type of network you use.

Rockethead, I doubt it's bad drive. It's an SSD and I checked it a few weeks ago and it worked fine. The important thing is that it worked many times and it looks like it will work sufficiently enough in the future. I lack the will to pinpoint it right now and it looks like it will require some more heavy pinpointing. Smaragda's proposal worked somehow and that's cool for now. Thanks for the help to all.
OK. If it is SSD, there is no mechanical problem. If it fails, it will fail altogether. Sorry, can't help you.

Yeah I know, unfortunately I have no choice! :/ Best is try this outside or on your mobile data line. If it works, then the uni has blocked some traffic. I am not sure if they block p2P traffic. NCC is independent of Wifi settings. NIS needs connectivity to start.

What's the last day to redeem AE? No clear answer was posted except "three weeks". That's not an answer.

I know that you will say "that sucks" but there is no date yet. "at least three weeks" is the best answer we can give right now.

Here is an image of node Alice's neighborhood: If you see your node in orange color, you should check if your node is well configured by visiting http://chain.nem.ninja/checknis

Wow... The 27 from 55 - one half of nodes don't work properly... How whole system works at all?

@jor27: orange nodes work too, but they are kind of passive. They can sync with the network, receive and send transaction and harvest blocks. They just don't help distributing the new transactions and blocks.
