I just did the drop down and chose S3 default, I saw S3+ voltage settings, but assume that won't work, especially I am only using 2 PCI-E in the miner.

OK, I fixed the 0Gh/s problem. No matter how many times I rebooted or what I did to my S3, I only got 0Gh/s. The fix was that I needed to physically reboot it. Now, its running fine on the 0103 firmware with the S3 voltage settings.

What voltage settings are you running?

I think you selected the frequency setting and not the voltage setting. The voltage setting is the box right underneath that it says "VOLTAGE" then next to it is the setting which is "0000" which you can change if you look at the bm1382 spec sheet. I think the 0000 might mean automatic but don't hold me to it and no sarc , stupid or senseless comments please those are not needed.

That's what I like to KNOW the voltage ? Because when I physically Rebooted it did not work for me. Still the same amount of MASS HW ERRORS!!! JAN 03 AND 08 THE ARE REAL GARBAGE!!!   Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

I use the Fri Oct 24 19:46:59 CST 2014 firmware which came installed on my S3+. Reset button does not work but this firmware works very well otherwise.

I am using the 0103 on my S3+, it works but just don't lose power because it wont hash right until you do a reboot in the web interface.

I purchased an ID-Cooling No. 14025 140mm fan to replace my S3 fans. While they match the screw positions for the S3 and mount fine the connector that attached to the S3 control board has a plastic tab on it, that prevents the connector from sliding onto the control board connector without damaging it.  Do I need to modify the connector to make it fit or do something else? Any help would be appreciated. Photo of connectors attached.

http://s24.postimg.org/5bqombaxx/42159.jpg

Thanks.

People usually just shave off the tab (I have).  Just make sure to plug it in the correct orientation/polarity.

That is what I suspected I would have to do. Just wanted some confirmation. Thanks.

No problem.  But a 14025 (140mm) fan?  Are you able to actually fit 140mm fans onto the S3's 120mm fan screw holes?

I'm aware that Bitmain's site states on its S3 spec page, "Two 14038 fans mounted on both front and back ends".  I thought that's just a typo because the S3 fans don't look like 140mm fans to me and certainly didn't measure 140mm; it's 120mm x 38mm and therefore 12038 fans.  I've also seen posts on other threads referring to it as 14038 fans and again, I dismissed it as a typo or a perpetuation of a typo initiated by Bitmain's S3 specs.

Am I experiencing a Twilight Zone moment here?

They are 140mm fans with mounting holes in the 120mm position. They block the ethernet port on the front but are fine on the back.

I was referring to the stock S3 fans being 12038 (I actually measured them again just now to be sure) in spite of Bitmain's info on their spec page which is 14038.  I'm sure you have your own reason to replace them with 140mm fans.

It isn't new it is used.
Is there another way to login? ssh?
Do you hold the reset while powered on or off?

Did you ask the seller? Where did you buy it? Also does it appear to be hashing? (eg.. leds flashing, generating heat)

I emailed them about it and this is what I got...

Hi,

Here is the MD5 for the latest firmware, please double check if you use the correct:

 MD5: 841787772894659804603C02F0E3212B

We have upgraded thousands of S3+ and our tech also double check the testing results. It is no problem.

Sincerely

Janet

I always check md5.  Please keep contacting them  I give up for now

Anyone who does not have the 10/24/2014 firmware, here it is. I had to go back to this firmware to get my units working correctly.

As above, the simplest way is going to be to ask the reseller. You'd know if the reset button was going to work or not, which it doesn't sound like it is. Fixing things via SSH is not an easy task.

Contact your seller and let us know how you get on.

You're free to use whatever firmware you feel comfortable on. If you're stable and have acceptable hash rate on one firmware, there isn't a rush to update to new releases.

and 1219 is here = 1024 but with working reset button

Can I get some beta testers for a new S3 firmware please? Download link is here, it *should* be good to go but as you know....

Rolls back to the last good patch in Oct (1024), but fixes voltage adjustment and the important reset button. Hopefully.... let me know.

I am remote and had to answer so I hope I could get help with this today. I can't ask the seller because there was more than one and I don't know which I bought this particular unit from.
Will Bitmain US support help me in any way?

I have a problem with my Antminer S3+ hoping that someone has an idea:
The miner can not be accessed, neither via WebIF nore via Ping. I bought just bought it used and did not access it yet.
I already tried to reset it, but after powering it only the (upper) red led is blinking regularly. When trying to reset it pushing the button does not change anything at all, the red light keeps blinking in the same intervall all time. Fans are not running.
What can I do? Does anyone have an idea?
Kind regards

That can be caused by not enough power. What psu are you using and how many watts on the 12 volt rail?

That PSU should work. Maybe the seller had a failed firmware update?

swap around your psu's, to eliminate any fault there.

He said he had a firmware from december when he received it, but after having trouble with it he downgraded to a firmware from July.
WTF?!? I thought that S3+ support started in firmware from August? I am afraid this might be the problem....
Is there a chance to resurrect it?

I think you can fix it via the serial header on the controller board but it is not an easy task. I have never done it so I would suggest Googling for the info.
