That Dogecoin payout seems rather gimmicky, like fractions of fractions of pennies, but that's Doge for you, it doesn't always have to make sense to be supporting the community...it's kinda like a paid advertisement for it.

Please add more BTC here (my son will apprecciate it when he's older): 14WsxbeRcgsSYZyNSRJqEAmB1MKAzHhsCT

I have two I am unable to login via web or ssh.
These were purchased via Ebay as well.

If you can't access the S3 or S3+ control PCB due to someone changing the password and unable to reset, please return the control PCB to the following address.  We will restore it to the factory default for you.

Bitmain Warranty

Unit 100-239
Denver, Colorado 80207
USA

Tel: 844-248-6246

Please include Printed version of this post, to use as pre-approved RMA (control PCB reset)

Also, please include the printed original order confirmation from Bitmaintech.com that shows original UPS tracking number.

Thank you

hey dog1965 my last stat was not a full day session:) notice the time stamps on that post (just wanted to throw some live stats out there for you)
..... it ended up paying
Time: 2015-01-16 08:20:10 Total Amount: 0.03508044 (Payout: 0.03473311 + Bonus: 0.00034733) Donation: 0 Shares: 61090894 Avg Hashrate from last payment: 2,461.02 GH/s

74455fc507f916c8cacdf1362392a95eddfd997b3339edeaa8e04c42c9600ddd confirmations.

plus the dogie and namecoin ofcourse

Feel free to share your last payout stats i would like to compare Smiley I set mine to payout every 24hrs so i can track them.

And to anwser the question about obtainging a scrypt coin
Yes some pools give out scrypt coins for hashing BTC most offer atleast namecoin
CEX.io gives out Devcoin and IXC both pretty much worthless i would rather have namecoin and doge Doge was actually up a little bit this week and namecoin does okay in general

Feel like I am late to this party. I just bought a 3 - S3s and 3 - S1s.

I underclocked and voltage modified the S1s to make them more effiecient.
Getting 140gH for 221W at the wall. (0.63GH/w) stock they run more like 0.42GH/w

I am currently running at two pool sites Triplemining.com and Ghash.io.

Not sure if I should devore purely to one, or is there a better site out there?

Peace,
J

Not if you're Antminers are still under warranty. Are you sure you've followed the correct setup instructions? [See my sig for S3 guide and alternative subnet instructions].

They're all roughly the same, although the larger ones tend to give more even earnings.

These are not under warranty
I am trying to use putty at the moment to ssh:
I tried admin as the pass in upper and lower case
I tried root as the pass in upper and lower case
I tried holding the rest button for 10 - 15 - 20 seconds - no activity change
I have setup many S3s

I wonder if he could use http://download.cnet.com/Tftpd32-64-bit/3000-2085_4-75446930.html to copy over the files from another S3?
Anyone know which file it uses for login ?

The preferred option would be to contact your ebay seller and see whats going on. Likely its got pre 1219 firmware on so reset button won't work. If you can't resolve with the seller, then PM BitmainWarranty to arrange an RMA. Be sure to link to your post describing the issues, what type and how many miners you wish to have repaired/replaced and your bitmaintech.com order number. They'll give you a quote - which hopefully is reasonable.

No, I cannot work it out with the ebay seller. The guy is a jerk and I have special place in my heart for people like him and Josh Garza.

Dogie, aren't there posts how someone connected to the board via serial?
Isn't that what Bitmain will do? Does Bitmain share these steps? Are they documented?
I have the skills and tools to do this, I do not have the instructions if you have seen some or know a thread. I searched serial S3.
I will keep looking but I know I saw such.
We used to do everything with DB25s and DB9s, swap 2 and 3 and either 5 or 9 is ground if you need it with 2 and 3 being rcv and xmt.

Any help is appreciated and if someone can help me get it going I will certainly tip.

Here's how you can flash your rig via serial

EDIT: The only thing you need to do (aside from that one post), is find the serial connector on the S3 control board, and also getting a CP210x type dongle .... those are real cheap.

When I boot the unit the red LED is flashing on and off. It looks like other units and the network kicks in and yellow with green alternate on - off.
I tried press and hold the reset before the network kicks in, and it never does, the red led keeps flashing on / off indefinitely.
I tried waiting until after the network kicks in and nothing. It flashes yellow and green back and forth. I held the button in for a good 5 minutes.

I will try this one more time as I didn't press, hold when it was still flashing red on and off for a minute or so and then let it sit there flashing the red on - off, maybe it is writing something at that point idk. Last shot on the reset button Smiley

I can't get the usb to uart until Monday. I'm in the U?S so it is Sunday.

Thank you for the words, at least I know not to think 5 or 6 seconds will do anything.

I am in the US.
I do not have a problem diving in these things, but I certainly have plenty to work on at the moment around the house. I haven't done much but troubleshoot miners for the past few evenings and the clutter is catching me.

I appreciate you offering to handle this. I will take you up on it and send them on Monday.
If there are other options for a couple of complete units, trade ins? trade ups, or anything along those lines please PM me and I will send complete units.

Thanks again.
