FUD FUD
Thanks for the link scambust. Even Buterin is joining the discussion. Well, so Via is interesting enough for 1st rate devs. He links to his blog mentioning ungoing research needs to be done concerning slow(btc) and fast(example: via/dgb) blocktimes. https://blog.ethereum.org/2015/09/14/on-slow-and-fast-block-times/Buterin: 'fast block times are a fast block time solution, not a scalability solution.' The questions asked: - What is the Via-blocksize? - what is the TPS-capacity? (what is TPS?)

Just wondering. What is the viacoin blocksize?
He asked about the viacoin blockSIZE
WTF IS THE VIACOIN BLOCKSIZE??

Via has passed 1971001 blocks. Instead of generating 5 Via per block, it has halved to 2,5 Via Amount of Via generated: 19,894,545

@drak,
Two questions: - When will be the next maintainance release? - There is a guy named "Soliury" who is reaching out to you on twitter, github, etc. He likes to help. Can you give him a reply?

Hardfork coming. Check drak post on December 26 i thought hardfork already smoothly passed by without a glitch few days ago (already over 10 000 new blocks since then) new subsidy halving algorithm brings: -change in total coins supply: 23 m (down from initial 92 m, which means 90% of coins already mined and distributed, and the rest will be mined over the next 10 or so years) -subsidy halving block reward for next 6 months: 2.5 coins (down from 5 coins in previous range)

Drak seems to have lost interest in this project and instead is focusing on his Core Dev work. The Clearinghouse website is a mess and Viacoin.org looks like it's not been updated in ages. Maybe he will do better with his bitcoincore website. Somebody remind me, what was the reason for reducing the total supply?

I remember why the supply was reduced , last ditch effort to pump the price. such a sham. You know what will follow, delisting of XCH there's already no block explorer.

Hi, As some of you may know I have started Viacoin Planet to discuss and create opportunities for Viacoin from business perspective. Some connections have good plans and will be worked out on Viacoin Planet soon, but before I want to continue with that, I like to know where we stand with Viacoin from technical perspective.
What is the plan with Viacoin the upcoming year? o Is there a detailed plan to move forward on technical perspective? - If not, why? - If yes, what is that plan? - Are there (extra) developers needed? And with what kind of skills?
Will Clearinghouse be further developed? o If not, why? o If yes, what are the plans? - Are there (extra) developers needed? With what kind of skills?
Will the Viacoin.org website being updated? o If not, why? o If yes, what are the plans for this? o Is there help needed? - If yes, What kind of help is needed? o Could be an idea to make a website like bitcoincore.org?
From promotion/marketing/business perspective it is also important to know the answers on the above questions.
Hopefully Drak can answer these questions. From there we can move further with eachother, make Viacoin stronger and build up the community.

thats a question only dev can answer if you cant contribute anything meaningful, if you are dissatisfied you can always "hearn" it

It's good that you've tried with Via and Clearinghouse... but it doesn't look to be going anywhere. It was kind of summed up in a recent interview, I'll try find you the link and you can hear for yourself what a joke it has become. Edit: Here you go Ted, an interview with Adam Back at Miami Bitcoin Hackathon at 6:55 Interviewer asks the question about Altcoins Interviewer "are they testnet scams or out of consensus bitcoin forks" Back "err well I mean they are experiments" Interviewer "haha testnet scams it is" https://soundcloud.com/bitcoinuncensored/adam-back-interview-bitcoin-uncensored-at-miami-bitcoin-hackathon-012316#t=6:55So, there we have it and what's funny... is although they are not specifically talking about Viacoin, with all that happened with Todd the burned /forged coins etc ... do you see how the "testnet scam" label could be seen as fitting, specifically in the case of Viacoin?

Thanks for the link, but I do not hear it specifically for Viacoin. There are more than 500 altcoins, so to me your comments are very speculative. I like to stay on topic and stick to the facts. I hope it will be answered.

Yep, and of those 500 altcoins it's a fact that Viacoin has been singled out lately by the big blocker/classic people, coincidence maybe but there are also people that have had issue since the Viacoin / Clearinghouse launch. It was pointed out to me over a year ago. I'm not saying I agree or that Viacoin is a testnet scam but when you consider the lack of development and even maintenance in regard to Clearinghouse... it all looks very much like an experiment that although fun at times... didn't end too well. I hope Drak is honest enough to shed some light on the future direction for you and if that is a continued hands off approach, what would you decide to do in regards to Viacoin Planet ?

How do you guys feel about VIA being used as a guinea pig for segwit?
It worked out for CLTV, and testing segwit in a live production alt seems like a good idea.
Plus Peter The Todd already knows VIA's codebase!
