So they "lowered" hashlet display prices but you still can't buy them except in the Market, not sure what's the purpose of this move.

Edited 2020-11-28 to fix a broken image

Much lower on the Market - between ~$5 and ~$13.

The end of the year is coming and I've been thinking about taxes. This could effect everyone in here, too, if you are rolling over your profits.

I'm starting to guess that the hashlets I've purchased with BTC are all going to be taxed at 25% (my taxable income percentage.)
The words that come to mind when I think about that are quite unsettling. Especially since I can't prove that these are even real.
So I paid for something questionably real with what some people think is "questionably" real currency. AND GET CHARGED 25%.

If it is real, then seriously no big deal.          Thoughts???

The hashlets arnt taxable but the profits u admit to are. You could say the BTC you have is over a year old and it would be taxed with capital gains tax at 15.

Just FYI for those looking to mine HP with Zens: pool drag'n'drop doesn't work, click on the gear icon on your hashlet and you'll see "Mine HashPoint Pool".

Yes I am in the US to everyone asking. Other countries are very lucky they are not taxed. Like Canada's "We'll look at it in 5 years plan."

What under the IRS makes these hashlets not taxable? Are other purchases for tangible goods taxable? And if you purchase another commodity like silver or gold how does that get handled?

Obviously they don´t have thousands of hashlets sitting in a warehouse.

It´s just another contract to mine.

One way Man in the Middle Attacks, this is one of the public examples of how they do it with ToR. But these whiz kiddies are behind the times, this tactic has been around for at least a year, there is new and improved ways... so you can only imagine what the govs can do, that the public will never know about.

Same principal applies to many other ways you have in question.

Looks like GAW/Zen still haven't grasped the concept of distributing important information to their customers via their official website and/or e-mail. A bunch of stuff today again buried in the cesspit they call HashTalk Smiley

ZenHashlets can now Mine to HashPool

Its Live, Enjoy!

Also, for Prime Owners, I know there is concern about ZenHahslets being able to mine this pool and how it effects the value of Primes. To address that concern:

Only Prime Hashlets will be able to mine HashCoins in the future
All amps are coming with HashBase, and they are free to all Primes
Primes will have a Pre-Mining phase before the Coin goes public
You will be able to DD to two HashPools soon
Edit: To point your ZenHashlet to HashPool, click the cogwheel on the hashlet and you will see the option to mine HashPool. Enjoy!

https://hashtalk.org/topic/15028/hashpoints-via-upvotes
Forum upvotes not translating to HP was apparently intentional but they forgot to tell the users about that. Not sure why it says "some users" - if the plug in was removed this surely affects ALL users? And there seems to be another issue, cutting of letters in forum posts? Weird. No official word on that one.

HashPoints via Upvotes

We are aware that some users aren't receiving hashpoints from hashtalk upvotes. The forum admins removed the plugin temporarily to make sure this was not the cause of some of the issues the forum has been having. We will be re enabling this plugin in the forum as soon as we have determined this is not the cause of recent issues.

Thanks!

Still avoiding the question of why HPs can't be redeemed for hashlets or anything at all.

Matching Market Pricing

As you have seen, we lowered the Hashlet Pricing on our website to match the marketing pricing.

I did this because the free market chooses the price, and it has spoken. I want to make sure we give those that only have credit cards a fair chance. I felt like it was the right thing to do.

@actionslacks said:

when can we see the white paper for the coin we're investing in?
I have reviewed dozens and dozens of white papers in the past few weeks.

Its VERY clear why most coins have not done well. Technical innovation does not make a coin popular. Marketing, business strategy, adoption, and scale do.

White papers are great (and I mean that), but you should be asking for the "go to market strategy". Thats what matters.

I'm actually curious how much sales are really happening at the moment in the hashmarket. Mine don't get sold but I don't have the time to monitor all the time what the latest rates are Wink

Yeah I noticed i didn't get close to what i should have especially since i DD'd HP. I am sure Gaw will figure something out or at minimum correct the payouts for the future.

You can DD HP with primary as HP? Or how did you do that?
