Nice solar back yard array, I love it!  Do you use it for growing primarily?  Do you get any other mining or home use out of it?

CB radio, ham radio, same thing.
Uh, no, they're completely different frequency bands.

And most certainly different range and capabilities...
Hmm, Forum is starting to wander a bit... First Audiophile gear gets brought up in the Community miner thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368507.msg13996678#msg13996678 (but DAMN those turntables I linked a search to are works of Art. Priced the same as well...Now CB/Ham radio...  Grin

Haha, i seen the huge solar setup, and then i know that guy must have a CB ham radio. Probably some huge antenna to.

All people whit chaotic solar farms have cb/ham radio`s  Cheesy

CB radio anyone can use without a license.   Ham Radio you have to pass a test and has multiple tiers.   Ham radio you have a lot more legal bands, but a LOT of rules and regulations to follow.  CB is like a long range 2 way radio.  HAM you can bounce around the world, or even off satellites if you know what your doing.

Also CB radio vs HAM gear.. no comparison in price.  And once you get into antenna's .... it can get crazy expensive.  It's a fun hobby though.

It must be nice to have space to do all of these cool projects. Colour me jelly.

Space is a nice thing to have.  I have a few project areas.... that all have projects waiting on me.  That is my issue with space is I tend to find projects.... and have a few going at once.

Eventually I will get around to all of them someday.

Same here on the little stuff. I get so sidetracked after I get going.
Phil always knocks it out of the park though and that rules.

Yea mine keeps expanding more and more.  Recently I have gotten decently into drones..... have been spending a lot of hours there.  But it's been a fun project.

I am lucky that my mining area stays pretty well.  At this point no babysitting it's pretty well fined tuned.   Only ones that require messing with is lotto mining.  I still need to take a picture.  I got rid of my U3's and some compacs.  But kept a few for fun lotto mining.  I just have a hard time remaining excited on small hashing amounts.

Most stuff is plug and play now which is nice. I do have fun too messing with the little stuff but yeah it is hard to get excited about a few g/h now.
Drones are something I want to do just have not taken the plunge yet.

It's something fun to do.   I enjoy it as my mining is becoming less and less hands on.   Once I got my mining area fine tuned, there is not much for me to do.  And with cool weather still... very easy mining.

Some day I might start a thread about it.  Took me a while to finally drop enough for my DJI.

Ok these are good: When your miner burns it's power connectors so badly it destroys the board connections:

Don't junk it, just build a new bypass circuit!

Yep, it works. Yep, I'm pleased with myself. More here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1283859.new#new

I finally upgraded my solo lottery machine from an S3+ to an S5, the trade of 50% more power for 200%+ time the hash was well worth it.  My friend is 3D printing my fan ducts and upper and lower covers, but I did a few things in the mean time to hold me over.  It is in my laundry room that isn't being used right now, so noise really isn't too much of a concern, but I lowered the fan to 60% and it dropped 4dB (70dB to 66dB) and runs at a steady 1.15TH @ 53.5*C.

I folded up some tin foil and closed off the bottom of the unit.

I ordered a fan duct off ebay so that I could focus the exhaust out my dryer duct.

I'll adjust the height of my shelf better for the final setup, but for now I just angled the S5 slightly to get the ducts to line up.

All buttoned up.  The final setup will probably use the insulated tubing to connect the S5 to the vent and see if that makes it quieter as well.

I also have an brand new Delta AFB1212VHE in a drawer that I can use as a pull fan and lower the fan speed further for a few more dB as long as I don't oc it.

compared to the s7 heat output the output from the s5 is like a warm summer breeze.

i got 4 of those fan shrouds for the s7s i have and added an 8foot ac/heat pipe to them to remove the heat from the immediate area. the outputs dump right next to a fan to further move the hot air away.

will post a few pics tonight when i get home of the setup.

And that's why I dont have antminer s7s. Sure, my fan mod sucks and the s5s I have run hot, but I can't imagine how hot s7s run. How hot is the back of it? I hear its REEEALY hot Smiley
Of course, if it isnt I may consider buying one and adding to my rig- Mining is only a hobby for me.
