You guys have incredible mining rigs... WOW really......... You must earn a lot for beeing able to buy all those antminers....!!! And i have a question: Is it profitable to have all those antminers you have, considering power costs and that every time difficulty changes(and that happens i think every 2 weeks or so, right??), you earn less money?? For example, lets suppose i had i dont know, 10 S1 overclocked, that would be 10 x 200 = 2000 GH/s (2 TH/s). Ok, according to that, i could earn: but... in 6.7 days, i would just earn 1,121.96 $ vs 1,368.47$ right now / month. So, as you have a lot of hash power, more than 2 TH/s... is it profitable for you, to pay power costs for all your hardware, considering every 2 weeks difficulty changes and you earn less bitcoins??? Because the guy that has 50TH/s right now can earn 34,211,78 $ / month but in 6.7 days he will earn 28,039,87 $ / month so.... if every difficulty change = -6.000$.... i dont know if thats profitable

Making about .017 BTC per day (on a bad day) with altcoins of my choice (have about 8 I choose from). BTC mining at home will be done by late this year due to the power cost.........UNLESS BTC hits $1000-1500 & stays there Best of luck guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

so if its not profitable why all these guys have those mining rigs? xD

I'm curious to see some pictures of those mining rigs. Share your pictures of your rig and then details of build and mhash/sec. Let's get a frame of reference up here with some visuals. I will use this first post as a place holder and take a picture of my own rig later today.
I am fortunate enough to have a shop with space for me to setup my mining rigs. So far I've just gone with the open "bench" setup to save on costs and to make cooling easy. In the photo you can see the bench with three rigs (a mix of 5870, 5970 and one older 5840) on the floor is the Bitcoin solo server running in -server mode, which also has 2 5870's. There are a couple of other machines in my office with 5870's elsewhere. I am at 3.8G/hash and adding about 1/g/hash per week buying up cheap used cards via craigslist. I am working on building a good Ubuntu Live ATI ISO file today in an attempt to eliminate all of the hard drives by using USB thumb drives, that'll save on electricity as well as hardware costs going forward. you are really lucky friend, I really want to like you, have such mining tools, but only a dream for me to be like you maybe one day, this thread is good to be an inspiration

i currently have 6th/s online...2 th/s hosted for bout 260/mth...I just choose to mine whether or not i make a profit on the coin..i pay the power bill with my hard earned money and save coin in hopes of one day bitcoin takes off and i'm rich a poor man can dream can't he? hehe and i get to help the network n try and decentralize it abit...but i fear KNC and big other mega farms will centralize it and it'll all come crashing down oh well...i got my profit outta btc so this is all play money i guess...could go either way...won't hurt me none

Never "buy" hashpower,it's a losing proposition 2 Gridseed 5.2mh blades,8 Gridseed 360mh little miners & 7970 vid card @ 575mh=14450 mh.Got 5 1.3mh fury's coming,so 14450+6.5= 20+mh I didn't say BTC mining is not profitable now,it soon will be,unless your power is .06 cents per kwh or less & BTC hits that almighty $1000-1500 mark............... I'm paying my electric bill with earnings from my miners,my job doesn't pay well enough to supplement that Or as crashoveride54902 says,mine & hold & hope for a massive rise in BTC price & your correct on the megahuge mining farms,crashoveride54902 They will be in control very soon,not sure how that is going work in BTCland..........

I built the rig at the end of January, mining Scrypt on multipools autocoverting to bitcoins, mostly for experimenting. Then changed to X11 in the last period, as profits for Scrypt were going lower and lower. Checking for example Wafflepool, the BTC/MHs/day of X11 are now about 1/3 of Scrypt, but in X11 I get 4x the hash rate and halve the power consumption, so it's definitely more convenient now, at least for me.

how is that possible, lower power consumption? I am assuming you are running your cards at full speed.

Yes, speed of the card is the same: moderate overclock, and undervolted. X11 is a different algorithm, so a different workload that's less stressful for the card.

how is that possible, lower power consumption? I am assuming you are running your cards at full speed. Different algorithms result in different GPU utilization. Utilization != % Load Those of us who were around when bitcoin was mined on GPU, already know that different algorithms have different card utilization. SHA-256 always used less power than scrypt, which is relatively memory-intensive. More power consumed, more heat, more noise, etc. X11/X13 coins take it to the other extreme, and result in very low GPU utilization (approx half of the normal power consumption of the card). I have 9 GPU on X13 getting about 15 MH/s for 600 watts.

This is most of my farm.
32 S1s 9 S2s 2 Dragons 2 Jupiters 2 SP10s
Total = ~22 TH/s
Holy shit! How old that farm is? i bet u got pretty high amount of coins from it? Just big WOW If you pay what I pay every month for colo, you would be making a killing! How much you pay for colo for those 22 Ths? That is proprietary information, so I'll never tell. I am very happy with the cost and quality of this co-location facility, and it's close to where I live. I know, but i won't tell:)

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

I had an issue with one Antminer S2 power supply failure, and one Jupiter hashing board failure, but otherwise it has been rock solid. I've had a lot of the equipment for months, so most of it is already paid off, and the setup earns many times what it costs in monthly hosting fees. Even the S1s are still fairly profitable, and when they are no longer profitable, I will sell them on ebay and replace them with S3s. It's funny how people are speculating about how much I pay per month for hosting when they have no clue. Rest assured that I can do basic math and am confident that I'm sitting in a fairly good position right now...
