Just for fun - lets have a contest!

Its like this............

Guess the day that UTC hits 2000 ea (0.00002 BTC per UTC) - on Bittrex

Win 5,000 UTC = 10 million Satoshi = 0.1 BTC

Guesses in UTC time of course. UTC = Coordinated Universal Time.

Guesses must be date/hour/minute in UTC time.

Closest guess wins.

To claim - just re-post your guess on this forum when you think you have won. Include your UTC deposit address.  If you don't claim (re-post your guess) - you won't be considered for the prize.

I will check claims and make plump the wallet of the winner from my own funds.

Discussion not entered into and my decision will be final. Trolls excluded from entry.  Those are the terms and conditions that you accept on entry.

May the best guess win.

Cheers - usukan

I totally agree with you Paul.

@Steven; Thanks for your actions for the ultracoin community. It wasn't easy to stay strong in the UTC storm! As far as I can say; you're still welcome on this forum.

@Paul: thanks for interrupting in a positive way!

@Usukan: Thanks a lot for taking action and the lead for now!

...
Please don’t forget that Steven did very much for UTC, maybe not always the right things, but at least he did his best and invested a lot of private time and private money to the UTC project.
So to all : Because we don’t know the reasons why Steven left let’s not judge or condemn.

Let us forget the past and look to the future !

NICE ACTION and NICE CONTEST !

CAN I QUADRUPLE THE PRICE POT Huh

SO I PUT AN EXTRA 20.000 UTC TO THE PRICE POT !
(time of deposit to the price pot 01-03-2016)

Please make a deposit adress Usukan, and i will deposit this 20.000 UTC directly to that pot .

So,  then we have a price pot of 25.000 UTC

Hi CosaNostra - Cryptochainer blockchain should be OK (others have used it successfully up until recently) - maybe some other wallet issue.  No other bootstrap blockchain sources as far as I know.

Current wallet UTC
v0.7.4.1-g-9-g23ef1a4-beta

download here
http://ultracoin.net/dl/UltraCoinQT_win32_v7.4.1-9.zip

If you are patient it will sync after about 48 hrs - if it stalls just restart the wallet.

Sorry cant be more help until we get things tidied up.

Cheers usukan

Hi tsjaar

You obviously have not heard that Cryptsy is gone - never to return.  They are insolvent and under investigation on theft, fraud and money laundering maybe more.
Its extremely unlikely that anyone will get some or any of their coins back - including UTC, even if Cryptsy updated the UTC wallet.

Big Vern has disappeared in China - everyone else who works for Cryptsy has dissolved so they don't get caught up in "assisting the authorities with enquiries".

Its just another Gox.

http://www.coindesk.com/cryptsy-bankruptcy-millions-bitcoin-stolen/

http://www.coindesk.com/court-cryptsy-ceo-predicted-exchange-failure/

lot of bullshit on this thread below but there is some useful info - its been running for 6 months now and follows Cryptsy developments.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173703.0

Cryptsy will never update the UTC wallet - but the UTC has probably gone to China to be sold on their Chinese clone site.
https://twitter.com/bitebi9exchange
https://www.bitebi9.com/

Sorry for the bad news.

Cheers usukan

As much fun this price pot sounds it's basically a pump scheme. And there isn't any actual improvements happened yet so price shouldn't be a focus. Not a big fan of it but that's just me.

Thanks a lot! Seems I had an old client running...

UPD: Blockchain is pretty big! Tried to download it from here: http://cryptochainer.com/dir/, but it seems broken or something. Anymore places to download the whole blockchain? Thanks!

Cryptochainer worked perfectly for me just a few days ago.

Hi bathrobehero

Of course you are entitled to your opinion on the contest.  Yes nothing has been fixed yet - we are working in the background to arrange this but its no small task.  It will take a while and I will report any action and setbacks as they occur. Please check the updated DRAFT roadmap with timeframes I posted a couple of days ago.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=727023.msg14033800#msg14033800
Comment on it if you wish and you are more than welcome to assist in any area where your skills fit.

The contest is purely for FUN.  Its a chance to generate some community spirit around here so we don't all get bored.  The community has been ravished and spirits are not high. Of course some lucky member will get a nice reward. My idea came from CK-Kano where they have monthly competitions for a new Avalon6. They are not pumping anything - they are encouraging more users and community spirit on the pool - and they ARE having lots of fun.  Its working rather well.

Thats more the spirit of the competition.

Fun and community rebuilding - and of course to have a vision to steer towards.

Thanks for the nodes too.

Feel free to put in a guess.

Cheers - usukan

As much fun this price pot sounds it's basically a pump scheme. And there isn't any actual improvements happened yet so price shouldn't be a focus. Not a big fan of it but that's just me.

Thanks a lot! Seems I had an old client running...

UPD: Blockchain is pretty big! Tried to download it from here: http://cryptochainer.com/dir/, but it seems broken or something. Anymore places to download the whole blockchain? Thanks!

Cryptochainer worked perfectly for me just a few days ago.

RE - ANNOUNCING

The Ultracoin Contest

(new and improved thanks to the generosity of PaulR1)

Just for fun - lets have a contest!

Its like this............

Guess the day that UTC hits 2000 ea (0.00002 BTC per UTC) - on Bittrex

Win 25,000 UTC = 50 million Satoshi = 0.5 BTC

Guesses in UTC time of course. UTC = Coordinated Universal Time.

Guesses must be date/hour/minute in UTC time.

Only 1 (one) "guess" per registered forum member.

No votes after price hits 1500 (0.000015 BTC per UTC).  I will call the cut off time on this forum to avoid any unnecessary confusion.

The closest guess wins.

To claim - just re-post your guess on this forum when you think you have won. Include your UTC deposit address.  If you don't claim (re-post your guess) - you won't be considered for the prize.

I will check claims and make plump the wallet of the winner from the UTC pot funds.

Discussion not entered into and my decision will be final. Trolls excluded from entry.  Those are the terms and conditions that you accept on entry.

May the best guess win.

Cheers - usukan

The pot has been deposited into this virgin and dedicated UTC address

An urgent priority is a block explorer for Ultracoin.

there are a number of options:

By far the easiest might be re-instating the Ultrabex Abe Search block explorer.  Paul or anyone do we know who held this?  Maybe it was Kracko? I seem to remember mining funds disappearing here at Tumblingblock?
http://ultrabex.tumblingblock.com/

also - we could build one from the open source resources here:
https://github.com/bitcoin-abe/bitcoin-abe
https://coinmarket.wordpress.com/2013/12/27/how-to-build-a-cryptocoin-blockexplorer/
https://github.com/stolendata/rpc-ace (I like this lite version) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=686177.msg13169545#msg13169545 (reduced hosting resource)

but we need someone to build/setup and to host with hardware and maintain (reboot/resync etc)

We could get one set up by a volunteer - OR PAY
but we still need a hosting resource

Of course we could pay to get one set up and pay for hosting/maintenance - but I think thats not realistic at present.

Emerge - are you possibly able to provide a hosting resource? Is anyone else in the community able to provide the hosting hardware etc and maintain?

Does anyone in the community know enough coding to set up a block explorer from the Githubs above?

I think the option we need to look at is:
  • Volunteer setting up block explorer
    Volunteer hosting and maintaining
Any community members have any ideas or offers?

Thanks usukan

Chainz which I think is the best block explorer costs $55 for 6 months or $100 for a year AFAIK.

But of course repairing tumblingblock is probably the best option.

When is the deadline submitting entries for the Ultracoin guess contest? Is it tied to a date or a price maybe (e.g. no more entries after 1000 sats)?

I edited my previous post and added a bunch more active nodes.
