Fork Update

PressTab, Steven and Alenevaa have had a few other commitments crop up over the last week.  This has unfortunately made the fork date of 14th May a bit too tight to follow through without rushing things.

We all want this to be done once - and properly.

As such Steven has made the call to move the fork date to approx 25th May.

PressTab and Steven are working on this now and Steven will update the community shortly. Alenevaa is back now and will set up the pool according to this new schedule.

Try the following settings and report back your results:

yacminer --scrypt-chacha --worksize 128 -g 1 --lookup-gap 8 --buffer-size 3532 -R 3456 -o stratum+tcp://<pool address>:<port> -u <username> -p <password> --nfmin 4 --nfmax 30 --starttime 1388361600

Thanks. I cant go for some reason buffer size more than 2860, more than that i receive error in yacminer. If i use  suggested NF 4-30 by default yacminer recognize NF 17 and the hasharate is about 450 h.

You don't need --starttime option after fork to NF14. All you need is to set Nfactor=14 with --nfmin=14 --nfmax=14

Fork Update

There is nothing to update really

Steven and PressTab are  working on the fork and testing.

New wallet will be released soon after further testing especially the retargetting.

Fork still scheduled for approx 25 May.

Alenevaa busy but will be onto the pool and testing shortly.

Steven will update us all when everything is ready.

Ah how fun it is to look back at the time when Ultracoin was created! When I reflect back I remember allot of the hype came from that Bumface was "working" at the exchange BTC-e and that by doing so, UTC had a big possibility to get listed there. Of course that never happened

I just wanted to give a quick update as to what is going on behind the scenes. We are currently slated to have the new wallet available for download next week with the update kicking in around May 26th. Of course, we want to make sure this update is 100% bulletproof before we go live, so we are currently testing and squashing bugs to make sure all systems are go for launch. On another note, I had the opportunity to have Ultracoin featured in the bag drop in for the Libertarian National Convention in Orlando, FL, USA later next week. I will be shipping out Ultracoin marketing material to be placed and distributed to up to 800 members of the convention. This will be great exposure as cryptocurrencies are often lauded in this circle and Ultracoin will make a perfect fit. Convention goers will be visiting from all around the United States so I hope that they can all take a little piece of Ultracoin back home with them, and with the wallet update hopefully coinciding around the same period, they will be introduced to the best version of Ultracoin to boot. I've taken care of all marketing expenses out of pocket. When the update goes live I have a few other surprises planned as well. Stay tuned as we are currently working hard to deliver the next best version of Ultracoin.

Fork Update

Sorry everyone - but we have a short delay.

Setting up the test pool and testing has taken longer than originally anticipated.






Everyone has been very busy on both UTC and other commitments but its coming together. Finalising the test pool is the critical bottleneck at present but after Alenevaa has completed this we still need several days of testing and adequate time to distribute wallets to all stakeholders so they are ready for the fork.

We all want to make absolutely sure that everything works fine before wallet release so we have made the exec decision to delay release so we don't rush things through and end up patching things up later on in an ad hoc fashion. This is extremely important to all stakeholders but especially our exchange Bittrex.

I trust you all understand the reasons for the delay - but do not worry - we will get there in style in the end.

At this point there is no definitive date for the fork - but expect at least another few weeks.

Steven will update us all when testing is completed and we are ready to move forward.

The test pool either doesn't seem to be set to Scrypt-Jane N-Factor 14 or something's up with the difficulty because it rejects every share (low difficulty share).

When test wallet reached fork block (1731464) the stratum lost his connection to wallet daemon.

Because there are too many changes everywhere I've decided to test the code before fork happens.
So I set up new fork point in the future (block=1733000).

I threw some hash at it for a short while but for now I have to go, I will mine tomorrow if needed.
