Nope, especially once POC2 comes out, I'm convinced it is ASIC proof, not just highly ASIC resistant like the current algorithm..  highly doubt we'll be seeing ASIC ever since POC2 can always just bump up the difficultly for ASIC resistance.

I'm trying to find the pool that works best for me with around 16TB on an i5 ubuntu machine with 8gb ram.
I started with cryptomining farm, which seemed to work fine but I'm in southern california, the farm is in asia and occaisionaly I miss out on a few good deadlines by being too slow.  I'm thinking I'll get my nonces delivered more quickly to pool closer to me.  I know there is an east coast pool in the US and a few in Europe, does anyone know of a good pool on the west coast of the US ?

thanx in advance,
 Cool
propagation delay is the least of your worries.  optimize your plots instead to speed up read times.

my plots are optimized, thanks for the thought.   I welcome any other suggestions........I'm using Uray's miner.

http://burst.ninja is US based, and we've got an ever changing payout system pointed towards ultimate fairness.

Right now the payout system is highly based upon block finder, and shares that are close to block finder, then you get some too for being an overall big miner. We think the system is the best, and our code is the newest, and accepts any miner you point at it. We're constantly improving, and right now we're working on the new UI.

Come give us a shot, let me know what you think, and we will make changes based on suggestions of our miners to make sure we can get ultimate happiness for all involved! hehe. It's a pipe dream to make EVERYONE happy, but we're gonna try to get 90% there at least!

come check it out!

After some research I have chosen BURST for mining. As many of people in here I am using my home PC (i5, 8gb ram, 20TB) to pool mining at burst.ninja. Cost effective of this setup is unique.

Also my PC has 2xGTX970 graphic cards that I used to plot (but mainly for gaming purposes) and I'm not sure if I should use them to mine on some multipool for other coins or not. Does it really worth those extras cents/day? I know I'll run o loss but my worry is about those cards running pretty hot (about 70ºC 24/7).

What do you guys think? Share HDD/GPU mining of should i go BURST all the way in?

P.S. I really have to find some way to fully understand those technical terms of cryptocurrency and how to analyse those charts so I can buy/sell at the right moment. So any help would be appreciate Smiley

Sorry if these question have been already answered but i can not find something in these huge forum.

Using Blagos miner in SOLO mode , The "Server" is the system where wallet is running.
Can i have the "UpdaterAddr" point to another server (pool) while solo mining?

I am asking this because when i am using my wallet system as "UpdaterAddr" sometimes i have  a small delay in block update (1 block delay)

Why Do i  need wallet to be opened? ( i don't see any net traffic between miner and local wallet during mining)

Thanks

-[Configuration Change ANN for http://burst.ninja pool]-

-We have decided that even though the minimum payout was set high, the block limit was making payouts too small for smaller miners, and taking too much with the BURST fee. So, we've implemented 300 minimum payout no matter what. (if 500 blocks go by without reaching 300, THEN and only then it will payout the balance.)

-We have implemented a "Scaling Factor", that changes payout distribution. So we have full control over how the distribution ladder looks. This means that when you see a share of 30 min and it's getting paid 4k, then a share of 5 hours that's getting paid 5, and you realize it's too extreme, we can change that. (we've already made changes, and currently the ninja pool is running at a scaling factor of 250.

-We continue to make upgrades to the pool, and we're in process of working a new UI. We are always striving to better serve our miners! Thank you!

BURST, the unique POC coin, uses the HD for getting coins but, for sure, if the price raise there will appear ASIC and we sill stock docens of HD that could be used for other things.

i dont think that asics will come up in the next years. If the come up, your miners could easy be switched to a maidsafe oder a strojx miner.....so no problem at all.

Not so far.....

A i7 can get 20MHash/s and a Antminer S4 gives 2 THash/s. So there is a factor 100,000.

In BURST ploting a i7 calculate 20,000 nonces/minute (about 5 Gb/min), if you apply the same factor, the hipotetical BURST ASIC will calculate 0,5 PB/min, an equivlalent in the 4 minutes block time to a 2Pb (15% of actual size).

The cost of the Antminer S4 is 1500$ and consumes 1500W, the cost of 666 3Tb HD (100$ each) is 66,000$ and consumes (8W each) 5300W (and you would need docens of computers).

So, if the price raise and BURST got popularity, ASIC will come, but don´t worry, Bobafett, for then we will drive our own Ferrari without crowdfund the FerrariSharing.

This is a large part of the reason I'm pushing for POC2.

With POC2 we can shorten block times (probably 30 seconds?), which improves the efficiency of HHD vs ASICs since ASICs have a shorter period of time to do the same amount of work.

Plus keep in mind that you plot once then you just pull numbers off the drive.. point being it isn't the i7 doing the having. And keep in mind that most people will use GPUs to plot their drives.

Also not understanding, how did you get Ant miner =666 *3 TB worth of drives?

If I didn't know better the scenario like mentioned above may already be happening on the network. PoC2 development definitely needs to be hurried up.

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

5gb/min is plotting, which is all 4096 scoops. If you are mining with an asic like that, you have to ditch 4095/4096 of those calculations because they aren't valid. You can't only plot 1 scoop at a time, you need all 4096 to sign with ur burst address. Therefore, the asic just became 4096 times less efficient Cheesy

Weird, I just saw block 75887 mine, 75888, 75889, 75888 (fast block), 75890... This mine happened on all of my machines. I'm pretty sure there is something really weird happening with the network right now.

The network is also oscillating between 15PB-23PB every 20 blocks or so.

If you refresh the burstcoin.info page, it will show the values from the burstcoin.eu page real fast before it switches to the actual ones.

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

OFFER TO SELL MINING HARDWARE

After accumulating a whole lot of BURST with my setup, I am now moving to a new apartment and wish to sell my hard drives and necessary cables, adapters, etc.

Available:
Approx. 115 TB of storage space, mostly 3 TB Seagate Barracudas (between 35 and 45 drives).
Enough SATA cables for all drives
Enough SATA to USB adapters for all drives
USB 3.0 male to female extension cables
7-port USB 3.0 Hubs
SATA power cable multipliers for use with PSU

I can plot the drives using your numerical BURST address, if you'd like.

Pricing including shipping:
Custom plotted drives WITH necessary cables, adapters, etc. for USB use : $32/TB
Wiped/blank drives WITH necessary cables, adapters, etc. for USB use: $27/TB

BULK PRICING including shipping:
ALL drives, custom plotted, all cables, adapters, etc. : $30/TB
ALL drives, wiped/blank, all cables, adapters, etc. : $25/TB

Payment is preferred in BTC, BURST also an option. Will consider other payment methods.

These drives (just the drives, no cables, adapters, etc.) will also be listed on Ebay.

All drives and cable/adapter quantities will be verified before finalizing a sale.

PM me with any interest.
