Which miner do I need to use for solo mining?? Poc_miner v1??
Yes.

Why can't we use pool miner to mine in solo?
it's better to understand...
Didn't anyone remake solo miner?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/85cequgcmlonc6z/miner-burst.zip?dl=0
3 in 1  Grin

for solo:  miner.exe solo 127.0.0.1 8125 c:\plots\ d:\plots\ ...
for Uray's code pools:  miner.exe pool POOL_NAME POOL_PORT c:\plots\ d:\plots\ ...
for BurstCoin's V2 pool:  miner.exe poolV2 POOL_NAME POOL_PORT c:\plots\ d:\plots\ ...   (alpha-version, testing)

Very good!
I already tried before but I was wrong in "solo" option.
now it works... 0.1% chance! booooo

EDIT: is there an explanation on numbers / values I can see?
sdl - sent deadlines
rdl - recieve confirms deadlines
ss - sent getMiningInfo to server
rs - recieve getMiningInfo from server
(0) - errors

chance calculate for current basetarget

Relax, I’m russian!...

The problems with high ram usage exist in win7/vista. I think this system have problems with allocating/releasing memory. Under Linux and Windows XP i dont have this issues.

Just wanted to go on record for http://burstmultipool.com

I have been mining there for a few weeks;
-  I bought shares in the pool, and have received a dividend payment for my share purchases in the pool
- If I  ever had a question, or needed support, it was available promptly.

A+

I will be purchasing more shares in the pool to show my support.

How often are the dividend paid?

I would like to know as well, I am for sure the biggest investor, and I don't think I have seen a payment yet from my assets... guess I could have just overlooked it. but yea.

not sure to be honest, I just refreshed my wallet this morning and saw a dividend payment.
I'm thinking somewhere around 2 weeks.

Strage.... i don't think i have memory problems with windows.  I am using java 64 bit for the miner and wallet, and i am running all kinds of plot sizes, still, the miners use not much memory, 512K for the most hungry one.

I did have a pagefile that went berserk earlier today, after i started plotting a file, but i am not sure what was the cause.

There might be longterm memory leak problems, but as i understand java, java should manage memory leaks reasonably well, except if they are tied to resource leaks, in that case things can get a bit ugly.

Somebody fluent with java developent on windows might want to throw the miner through some leak detection system to see if there are any problems. Remember to have a selection of files, also broken ones, in case that might be part of the problem.

anyway - seems to work fine here, as soon as i went to 64 bit java, all my troubles dissapeared.  -  if i leave the pc unattended for a day or so, things seem a bit sluggish, so we might have some kind of resource leak somewhere.. perhaps..  but then, perhaps the sluggishness was due to something else running on the box.

Anyone having memory issues might want to look in task manager, and locate the exact program that is using more and more memory, and under what conditions.

I can't set it to more than 2000 - "The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size."
It worked some time on xmx1000 but it looks like it hung itself and stopped logging new block heights.
I have also some issues with urays miner - it crashes even faster, after few submitted shares. Dev's pool is the only option for me right now, but it looks like I get 30-40% of burst calc results on it.

Check that you have java64 installed, and that you are running java64 instead of java32.  Java32 cannot allocate much RAM, even though you might have it physically on the computer. Even with a 64 bit windows, unfortunately, the standard installation comes with java32, and you have to go to the sun website and download java64 and install it, and then change the batch files to run the 64 bit java. (the wallet can do this ut of the box, so look at that batch file for inspiration about where to run java64 )

Nothing in the task manager

And frees the memory is not by stopping miner

Getting sick and tired of low payout for the devs v2 pool. My wallet shows I have forged 12 Blocks and yet I only have 78,000 coins to show for it mining with the pool.

How the hell did I manage to find 6 blocks in 3 days with 3 blocks found in the space of 8 hours on the 23rd? with only 7200 GB!

I think the poster earlier encouraging us to just solo mine is right - the difference in payout is damning.

maybe its because of reward distribution method? I havent done the math but from my observation it can lead to big variance due to luck ...

Update: sorry i've been surprised by urays reward distribution, dev2 pool uses PPLNS which should be lower variance..

I understand a small variance, been mining since Litecoin in the wemineLTC days - but this is silly. How the hell can it possibly be profitable to mine with a pool when I am nearly 50% down in respect of what I would have now If I had solo mined?

Question: Is it still preferred to use the solo miner in the OP? Or do we have a better program now? There is no update to the original miner in the OP or in the Windows Mining guide. Cheers!

You are right.. Ive had similar results with pools.. /i dont want to blame them, they have done much great work!/ But I havent investigated it in deep...

Clearly its better to mine solo when you have 12tb plus.

One idea: could it be that pools deadline limit is set too high? It leads to smaller number of high value shares. Any thoughts on this, pool ops?

Further investigation is required I think - this is just silly. Either it is horribly inefficient and not profitable or the luck factor is so great that it is not profitable. Either way I'm down over 40,000 coins Sad

Can anyone give me (and anyone else in my position) a quick start guide to get solo mining using the most efficient and profitable miner we have in the community, for solo plots that have been working with the devs v 2 pool miner?

Thanks so much guys - not your fault, you guys are a great asset to the community, just understandably feeling a bit cheated right now lol
