How much longer until substantially less coins are produced each day?
I think that 25 million is the total supply, see Magi Specs We are at around 2.24 million now after 2/3 of a year, so it will be a while before we reach this limit. I'm not exactly sure what happens at the 25 million supply limit; my guess is that the PoW phase is over and the coin continues under PoS only; that is as best as I can remember from postings. Of course a large miner or two or more can come back on and this would cause the block rewards to drop back down again, however, I don't think that is what you are meaning.

The actual amount produced every day is variable and depends very much on the total hashrate. The maximum block reward now is 50, but in ten years time or so it will have reduced to 24, then 0.0001 XMG per block after that at block 5000001. You can explore this behavior in detail on this excellent web page.

So....who here has a VPS set up for XMG mining? Cuz I'm stuck in the process following Joe's instructions, not sure if they're outdated (?) here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg8800103#msg8800103I sent Mr. Lao a message, but hopefully others here may be able to help...I'll post where I'm at once someone is ready for a migraine (I think my swap file is set up, right now I'm trying to learn how to edit fstab properly)

Still debating whether or not VPS mining XMG would pay off ..... 5$ / month for a single core...but then again I've only made 3 XMG over the past day running between 2-3 cores off my i5-4670k....
Anyone have recommendations?
If you take a 5$/m vps 1 core.. mining at what?.. around 10kh/s.. lets say 11kh/s... 1 kh/s make around 0.0892 XMG/day (on pom.m-hash) so 0.0892 * 11 = 0.9812XMG/day * 30days = 29.436 XMG to at the current price high price on bittrex (0.00008350 btc) 29.436XMG = 0.002457906 BTC (btc at 232$ lets say 250$...) 0.002457906 BTC = $0.61 USD... Can you have a VPS under $0.61/month?? better use your 5$/month and buy 239 XMG each month.. and most of VPS hoster don't accept mining be sure to read the TOS!.. just a my advise..

Joe mentioned that he has yet to update the binaries on the website from 1.2.1.1 to 1.2.1.2 some time last week. I suspect that's partly due to the personal matters he has had to deal with lately, partly because of the Berkeley Database stuff that I've kept bringing up, and probably for a few other reasons as well. In short, though, he said there were no significant changes between 1.2.1.1 and 1.2.1.2 that require you to update. So it's alright to wait for the next official release, unless you're really itching to have the newest version (which would require you to compile it yourself).

What is better, having 1 worker with all the hash power or more workers sharing the hashes? I made some little tests but cannot figure out if it changes something or not (I guess if it does, it's small)

On a similar note, if running a CPU miner at 75% or more, how dangerous is extended usage? A simpler question would be: how long could I run at 100% before my processor bursts into flames?
And on the topic of XMG itself: how do we achieve our dream of landing on the moon? A space walk, perhaps? Maybe build ourselves an O'Neil cylinder?

Not sure if the swap line was edited in the correct spot). Step 7 - what directory am I cd'ing into, because after cloning (which I assume worked) I can't cd into the directory of what's required ( m7m...) Thanks, I'll be able to get on with more detailed info tomorrow... Highly appreciate the help!

I pay my living with (boring) numerical stuff. Two point must be expoited (My 2 cents) Thermal point of view I always stay lower than 70% on everyday computer. Of course thermal management is extremely important but I nevertheless prefer not to go beyond that limit with common pc. Try to take a look at the temp of your cpu (heatsink, northbridge southbridge etc...) Economical poit of view Magi is not made for huge miners, is an energy-clever coin. Going full power means paying high bills, better using a smarter way of mining, e.g. SweetSpot

If you have good temp (good cooling system) you can run it 24/7 at 100%.

With your second question; do you mean how we all can build a bigger community for Magi? Agree with what ELMacho20000 already said. My personal opinion about this is the way Magi is growing is step by step and that a good sign. No rush. BTC needed more than two years before getting nice value. If Magi keeps on growing and building new developments (some unique) and our Magical community stays like this (awesome with all the help people give eachother) it will receive a bigger value. Magi has already showed to be a long-term investment. People who like to gain fast money will use other coins for that. We all noticed lots of scamcoins or clones who will always die in the first 6 months. As Joe mentioned before Magi is here to stay and will try to help btc to get more people in the world of digital currency and use it like its meant to be used. I'am very proud of what we all (team and community) achieved already in the past 7 months. And we will continue!!!
