I am a not a computer wiz kid. Tuesday I downloaded the new wallet 3.1. Is this still correct because I am confused with all the links in this thread.

Also, I have a lot of coins on Bittrex too. Can, how and when can I sent these coins to the wallet.

Can someone please explain this in plain English?

first compare where are you with block chain https://chainz.cryptoid.info/super/#!extraction
then if you on wrong fork better you download 1.6.1 and resync from scratch.

It froze at 94%. I haven't tried it again.
But wouldn't it make sense to post a direct link to the necessary Download... instead of a link that takes you to the Upload service? I merely ask out of curiosity. No doubt there's a perfectly good technical reason for departing from the convention used to download the 3.1 wallet which is still available to those who wish to remain on the wrong fork.

You can use any. 3.1.1 is trustless anon version, 1.6.1 is non-anon version.
