Trying to trade XMR on polo today has been a complete waste of time, the lag has got beyond a joke now.

i also made a BTC withdrawal 10 hours ago, and although confirmed as complete by polo, the tx id is still not valid on the blockchain, and i have got no response from mods in the trollbox, so now must wait to see if my support ticket is ever resolved. i also see in trollbox many other users have same problem with btc withdrawals.

anyone else here having problems?

have used polo for number of years now, since i bought my first xmr in 2014, and never had one single issue with them, but this week has tested my patience to much.

In that scenario I would target $30 in September, and we might not see a new ATH until macro instability later in the year stomps on the fuel pedal again.

Agree in general with IMHO the one major wild-card still hanging over XMR's head being Coinbase integration anytime from now to maybe announced early to mid summer time frame?  If/when that happens it'd be a big stomp on the fuel pedal for sure.

Things on this front have been quiet lately after all the ruckus coinbase stirred up a few months back, what with Charlie's tweets and Armstrong's twitter poll etc... but I have to imagine that *IF* they're gonna do this, that coinbase developers have probably been working on it all this interim time.  They can't really be TOO FAR OFF now from rolling it out if it's ever gonna happen at all.

Then again, developers have had trouble with Monero integration in the past (cough Jaxx cough) so maybe it's gonna take longer than they planned.

My personal belief is that this IS COMING however (even if it's just wishful thinking LOL)

I think we will get great opportunity to convert some BTC profits into XMR over the next few months. Bloodbath in XMR means apocalypse for the other shitcoins, imo.
I agree.
While a bloodbath in XMR is possible, I would not bet on it by going short.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

I don't know what to think about polo.  800 xmr withdrawal stuck for four and a half days.  I called the FTC and the SEC and got nowhere.  Then I called the Fraud and Consumer Protection unit of the Delaware Attorney General's office.   The number is (302) 577-8600.  I left a message stating that a Delaware corporation may be committing fraud on its customers, and gave the name of the corporation (poloniex) and the name and address of the registered agent in Delaware that Poloniex uses,

As an investor, unfortunately i totally give up investing on XMR anymore. It is such a nice project and very undervalued imo. But something is wrong maybe advertisements or maybe some internal issues i dont know. But the price is not growing for really long. When many shit projects already multiplied their volume and price, monero is still like a turtle.

Price doesn't determine longevity of a project.

Nor does it determine the legitimacy of one either.

Ehm have you tried to cancel the withdrawal and send again to another different XMR adress? You can cancel it in the pending withdrawal directly.

Your best bet may be to seek a financial advisor or pay for some trading courses. I'm sure there are some around here and there.

Getting trading advice on this forum is probably not the best place get it from.

They've had a 640% increase in trading volume this year.  It's going to be a bit rocky in places.  Competent help is hard to find - it takes some time to smooth the bumps.  It sucks to deal with, but I wouldn't jump on the fraud bandwagon just yet.

Anyone some speculations on Monero?  I am currently a bit at loss on what is happening / what is probably coming up.

Edit: I'm asking because its going down right now and I did not expect that from the patterns and technicals.

I advise: It is a good idea to buy some Monero, in constant numeraire amounts, on a regular and consistent basis, if you can afford to hold them for years, or if you may need to use them, to keep your financial affairs private.  It is a bad idea to speculate on timing of price moves unless you have special information.  (Note that competing speculators in a speculation forum have an interest in disinforming you.)  That said, we are here specifically to speculate, and some people will offer opinions.  The honesty and the accuracy of those opinions may or may not correlate with each other.

Regarding price, I don't give much weight to speculations about coinbase.  Demand is gradually growing, AFAICT, while supply growth is slowly declining, so prospects seem good, but without a catalyst movement is likely to be weak and take a while.  Meanwhile it can do almost anything since the cap and float is still smallish.

If you anticipate a strong demand for financial privacy in a globally liquid instrument, as I do, you probably want to own as much as you can, up to the limits of your risk tolerance.  You should also keep an eye on mimblewimble.

Quote
Also known as XMR, InfoRiskToday notes that the creators of the cryptocurrency claim that it's more private and difficult to trace than bitcoin. Unlike bitcoin, it also has no hardcoded block size limit, meaning that - at least in theory - an infinite amount of monero could be mined.

Hash rate has remained quite stable recently.  Botnets are not a new thing, and it doesn't seem that there has been a large expansion of them lately.  Does it?  Oh well, publicity is good.

https://www.yahoo.com/tech/another-large-scale-cyberattack-underway-experts-194944965.html

Another large-scale, stealthy cyberattack is underway on a scale that could dwarf last week's assault on computers worldwide, a global cybersecurity firm told AFP on Wednesday.

The new attack targets the same vulnerabilities the WannaCry ransomware worm exploited but, rather than freeze files, uses the hundreds of thousands of computers believed to have been infected to mine virtual currency.

Following the detection of the WannaCry attack on Friday, researchers at Proofpoint discovered a new attack linked to WannaCry called Adylkuzz, said Nicolas Godier, a researcher at the computer security firm.

"It uses the hacking tools recently disclosed by the NSA and which have since been fixed by Microsoft in a more stealthy manner and for a different purpose," he said.

Instead of completely disabling an infected computer by encrypting data and seeking a ransom payment, Adylkuzz uses the machines it infects to "mine" in a background task a virtual currency, Monero, and transfer the money created to the authors of the virus.

Virtual currencies such as Monero and Bitcoin use the computers of volunteers to record transactions. They are said to "mine" for the currency and are occasionally rewarded with a piece of it.

Seems suddenly Monero have lots of media exposure. And not crypto or tech or even economy, but general main media. Wonder how that will reflect on price. Might not at all.   Like when most people heard of Bitcoin for first time they did not buy. But for sure it stayed somewhere in our subconscious.
