So you're as bullish on XMR as always my G?
It is a long-term thesis. Only a massive defect, practically irremediable, or a governance catastrophe, could shake my view at this point. Speaking of which it would be nice to see trolling in the code base strangled in the crib by reviewers. I would actually be worried if it was merged in the code. So the code of monero has a bug or corruption? I only have a few monero but when I saw your message, I got depressed as a result. I was planning to buy more of them. In that case you are too easily led and should not invest in anything let alone Crypto. Now tell the truth.

P.S. the secular gold bull, dollar bear is looming again.
Off Topic: I've been thinking of getting into gold, but due to lifestyle considerations, holding the physical metal isn't practical for me. Would it be better to go with an ETF like GLD, or go with a custodian of the metal, such as Vaultoro? On topic: it would be nice to see trolling in the code base strangled in the crib by reviewers.
+1 Fluffernutter started it. Let's put an end to it.

Sorry I know you weren't talking to me but please please please do not buy the GLD. The GLD is good for trading. If you think the price is going to go up in the next few weeks so you buy it and sell it when it goes up. Perfect for that use case. But the gold in the GLD is rehypothecated dozens if not hundreds of times. You don't want be one of the guys caught standing when the music stops. Go with a private custodial service that contracts storage with a reputable company like brinks and has regular audits. If you want to go even a step further you can arrange physical storage in such a manner that the company you are purchasing from doesn't even have access to it once it is placed in the vault and the company you are renting the vault from doesn't even know what the contents of the vault are. But I don't know if you need to go that far. Up to you. Just pointing out that you can go that far if you want that level of security.

Actually this represents an ASTONISHING amount of trust for Ricardo by the community. If this campaign is even mildly successful it will be a significant PR coup. I still see a corresponding risk, but I've got my fingers crossed.

+1 Fluffernutter started it. Let's put an end to it. NACK. Please let our Chief Entertainment Officer do his job! Repo trolling is a great way to get more people to at least look at (and perhaps participate in) development. Besides, Monero runs on comedy just as Bitcoin runs on drama and Ethereum runs on controversy.

A very good read. Most (if not all) of the topics were discussed in the Monero community. It's not directly connected to speculation, but it is in a way. Monero mentioned in the context of Wanna Cry ransomware money converted to Monero (XMR) via ShapeShift. Eight Things Cryptocurrency Enthusiasts Probably Won’t Tell You.

Hopefully it's not another 8btc on a much more grander scale.

And the aswer is no. It's trolls all the way down . Nothing serious going on here. Nothing but the industry standard for privacy in crypto currency. Only the most fungible form of digital money in existence. Nothing to see here. Trolls all the way down. I'd leave before one of us tries to sell you drugs or something.

It is amusing to see someone trying hard to hoodwink others, but since it seems many people do not understand the difference between a git tree and a PR, I think there is a teachable moment here:
Anyone can have a git tree. It's as easy as cloning an existing one. Git is a decentralized revision control system. You can clone your own off Monero, and do anything you like to it. You can then PR anything. This is what open source is all about: you can modify the source to do anything you like. Open source, however, does not enable you to force others to merge your stuff into their own tree, and that is what is apparent here, despite someone who (I think) understands this very well, but is preying on people's naivety. So this illustrates the power open source software gives all of you. You are free to do anything on your own copy. You are free to choose to merge, or not, whatever you want from what others may have done. Exercise wisdom on what you choose to merge, and you will be standing on the shoulders of giants.
