What Caused The Recent Monero Price Spike?
My guess would be the Monero-V snapshot at the end of the month which was extended from an earlier date.
is it possible?

Interesting to see if it plays out exactly the same way as the MoneroV pump before.

Here comes a speculation:

multisig complete= Monero on Coinbase?

Is this the same fantasy land as Paypal adopting Verge Tongue ?

You still only FUD Monero?   Even when there is +15% price increase?  Do you think Monero have any good attribute?  You spend hell of a lot of time in Monero Speculation thread to not like anything about it.

FUD, No? Been a bagholder of Monero since late 2015 of course I see its great attributes otherwise I wouldn't of invested in it.

I'm just a realist (in my mind) and I don't see anyway Coinbase will list Monero.
Although comparing it to the mythical land of delusion where people believe paypal would adopt verge may have taken it a step too far I admit.

LOL really. I am 100% sure you never ever had any monero. For sure you dont day trade, cos daytraders shill it when they need to unload bags, you FUD it with every post you make.  Just that will not go to high.

Lets not forget that you can contrive a metric by replies to fud. But this method has the effect that interacting with that data will change the data, kind of like observing particles that change them. Wink

Also lets not forget that that data can be used on decisions involving Monero's competitors as well.

I'm not defending him in any way just pointing out possibilities.

I was looking the monero historical hashrate

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/monero-hashrate.html

I do assume that ASIC private mining started somewhere in the end of 2017 bening of 2018 ...

My intuition tells me that these miners will dump their mined coins to cover their investments

Why not last week or last month? Why now? Cos of birthday?
ASIC miners that planed to sell already sold long time ago, those that planed to hold will hold to some big real world use Monero hype and price spike or will hold for long term.

Exactly. Luckily we all have post history where this can be checked.   I did hope he will give me at least one good trait Monero have. At least something. I did not heard any in one year or more he is posting here. When price goes up or down or when developers do this or that or when world react on Monero this way or that way. All is bad. Totally normal and good things.

I think the formula/logic to dump the coins is something like.
..Asic developers must take on account ASIC Development cost (capex + opex) then calculate how much coin they mined ...then they need to wait until the price cross their profit threshold to start sell their coins ...I don't know how much it cost to Bitmain ( is it something like Cost=Masks+N×Wafers ?? ) for cryptonight algorithm maybe the development is more trick than SHA-256  ..Regards to ASIC development costs I will take bitcointalk time-machine back to 2012 and read again to remember what happened in the past ;-)  ..

Personally, I think Bitmain et filia sold as fast as they could. The remaining miners will include a higher proportion of hodlers than when ASICs were online, so that supply is slightly reduced from now on.  Being just a bit behind the most profitable coins is the sweet spot for price appreciation.  Too low and your coin is dying.  Too high and you minimize the number of miners with a long horizon.  Supply is dwindling anyhow, but price is set at the margins.

I doubt we will see a quarter in which the predecessor quarter VWAP was higher than the current quarter for a while - not until BTC tops in the 25 to 40 range and retreats to 16 to 20 range, at least.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day.  Give a man a Poisson distribution and he eats at random times independent of one another, at a constant known rate.

if bch price reach the proper market price I may cash out the airdrop and invest into cryptonight ... regards to cryptonote ... it was my first coin  that really compiled flawless with c++boost lib

Since they mined only 4 months, I guess they will need $1000 or $2000 Monero price for profit.

Well in life unexpected things happens. You cant do everything with profit always. Sometimes you make some mistakes.  What if tomorrow there is unrepairable flaw in Monero and all coins are worth close to 0?   How will then they get profit?

I never thought I'd be mining Monero again after 2015. I was delighted to switch all my ETH miners over a week or so ago.

XMR/USD is hitting the 200MA, XMR/BTC already broke through the 200MA barrier - I'm confident we'll see 300 again at the end of the month

I would not be surprised either, If it wasn't for the BTC bubble it would be sitting right about there now.

Also guys you should have a look at coins that actively support Monero development: Masari.

It's a Monero fork, good relashionship with Monero, only 18.5 millions total coin supply and it's still early, only 3000 sats on SouthXchange and Tradeogre.
If you count that Masari uses a weighted harmonic mean difficulty adjustment algorithm for smoother difficulty adjustment, which has been PR'd back to Monero you already have a kick-ass coin. It also has only ever used RingCT, has a fixed ring size of 13, and we plan on adding uncle mining and researching block tree sharding.

Cheers !

good relashionship with Monero,

Cringe level BS. I know there are people stupid enough to buy this line, but I really doubt they are on this thread--maybe know the community before going full-shill.

Here we go:

Masari dev writed this post when Monero forked: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/8a7ubh/only_20_of_the_blocks_coming_into_the_fork_are/

FluffyPony talked about MSR in his podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TATpQ7KogBc&feature=youtu.be&t=6074

and also tweeted about MSR before that: https://twitter.com/fluffypony/status/971103127947669505

I don't know which one of us does not really know the comunity, i am a Monero Hodler for a long time  Wink
