On the other hand it makes me sad to see so many absolute shitcoins rallying yet again... it's the curse that won't go away.
Yeah, makes you worry if we are even special at all. We keep believing people will "get it" I've been believing this for a few years now, but I remain disappointed at how long it is taking for others to realise how special Monero is. I wonder what it will take. And, of course, the more time passes the more likely other coins will come along to challenge, perhaps with a greater development budget.

So so there with you guys (well guy and gal I think?). But even if Monero's value remained somewhat shrouded due to whatever reasons, I would at LEAST like to see BCASH and Ripple die in a fire the way they are supposed to. I mean allusions to the dotcom runup are constant. And to that extent Ripple is like a damn e-greeting card startup and BCASH is just a bad idea that everyone believes in. And yet... boom. But right now the tide is lifting all the boats... I'll just keep watching. Meanwhile in BTC: Again, *IF* the bull run happens to ignite from here... It's going to be really interesting to see what happens when FOMO actually hits the masses. December was but an appetizer in my opinion. That was the event that made the world really wake up to bitcoin. They all got their coinbase accounts, bought at the top and have been licking their wounds. But this time... ... ... ?? And Monero? As far as the public is concerned it is truly one of the "Crypto Blue Chips". Yes, ripple and bcash are in that bag too... but the differences and advantages we can see so clearly are really differences and advantages. Eventually their self evidence will sink in. That GUI FFS up there? Let's fund it. And bulletproofs will help too. The faster and easier Monero is to use the better. Those are still it's biggest hurdles. Getting smaller by the day.

Monero being considered a blue chip is a big deal and I'd argue a rather recent realization for the masses. Breaking back into the top 10 as well as big name peoples in crypto starting to truly call out scam coins (and in turn shine light on the few real projects) has definitely helped. Definitely kicking some xmr over to the FFS. Great momentum is building and the projects for the second half of the year are truly exciting.

Bit of a long shot. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see $1,000.

Bit of a long shot. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see $1,000. I think a 10k XMR would imply something like a 500k-1MM BTC in the current environment. So I agree with your analysis.

Bit of a long shot. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see $1,000. I think there should be a correlation between ETH and Monero price move. If Monero gets $1,000 next year, ETH can easily get $3,000 it seems. Is this wrong to you? If we can solve the relationship between these two, it will be easier to act in the market.

I see no correlation between ETH and monero. There may be a larger theme among alts but nothing unique to ETH. The xmr/btc relationship is what matters right now. And my hope is even that correlation breaks and you see movements unique to xmr. It should stand on its own merits.

ETH is a coin run by scammers that don't understand what mutability means and Monero is a private fungable currency. How can you ever compare them? How can you even trust ETH not to Fork away your coins if the Gov asks them too? Like Zuckerburg said "I don't know why, They "trust me", Dumb fucks. ETH is no differant.

@cAPSLOCK, I too, fell ill each time I see the impossibly ridiculous coins like Ripple moving up and eating up headline spaces. They don't just run like a e-card startup, they keep falling in line with the very institutions that cryptocurrency ideals are supposed to be against. I hate seeing all the corporate suits in this market. I hate reading a news item only to find out it's a sponsored PR. I hate that everywhere I look now, I see crap upon crap and people getting rich all of it, at the expense of the idea.

In a novel domain like crypto the market will be wrong quite a lot. One big question is whether you can be right any more often than that. If you lack the confidence to do so, your interest lies in owning the broad market, cap balanced. Therefore, things move in sync more than fundamentals would dictate. When that synchrony breaks under pressure of fundamentals, the moves will be strong and fast. Therefore, if you are betting on a supposed edge, expect long weeks of boredom, followed by sudden moments of wide-eyed shock.
The market has no ideology, so moral merits take a back seat to technical suitability for purpose and vibrancy of the denominated economy.

XMR is a good fit for short-term investments , studying its historical data . it rises from the lowest point to the hithest point in a month . quick gains from XMR .

As we know that Monero's (XMR) advantage lies in its function as a full anonymous cryptocurrency (privacy), unlike BitCoin or some other crypto which we can not call Full anonymous because if I know the wallet of your BitCoin address
