Yiimp is back, i got syn flood during the night which have triggered an ip change from my ISP.

There is actually an overload issue due to the way Minercontrol do the api queries, sample from one single IP :
Code:

multiply that by 500 and you can understand what is going on

I just ordered a second fiber connection as backup, which should be handled this month..

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

waiting mean lose money, a 1080ti can do $350 a month, this mean that every month without a 1080ti you are losing $350, never wait in mining it doesn't matter what they are going to release

I don't know I would be more worried about this new series of cards coming out called 'Vega'. Something about buying brand new cards and possibly being obsoleted in a month.

Also, not sure why you would buy a 1080ti, hash/$ is worse then a 1080 or 1070 if you scale down further. Density isn't that much better either.

That was another concern for me as Vega and Volta are incoming relatively near future but I also wanted to mine asap.

Yesterday I got a used MSI GTX 980Ti for a good price so I can experience Nvidia mining. As far as I know GTX980Ti has a similar hash rate with GTX1070 but of course with more power consumption.

Cards are really expensive where I live but I bought used GTX 980Ti %30-%35 cheaper than I would buy a used GTX 1070. It is 1/3 of a GTX1080Ti maybe even less as 1080Ti is like 1000-1100 USD here.

This purchase enables mining as much as it can do while I wait for Vega, possible Volta news and/or a price cut on 1080Ti.

I will keep an eye on 1080Ti mining as well. If I catch a deal on a 1080Ti I will upgrade.

Volta is a year~ or so out, next spring possibly in a desktop form. Vega is this month, not sure when we'll see desktop cards, but the first launch of whatever they choose is this month (they haven't specified exactly what's launching first and in what order).

While AMD has it's own programmers and it's own things it's good at, there is always the danger with new architecture that it might override some existing markets. IE even if AMD isn't good at it right now, it may possibly be extremely good at it when this launches.

1080TIs aren't worth it. They're 20% faster then a 1080, but they're closer to 30% more expensive. I can buy a 1080 for $500 (if you get them on sale $460), a 1080ti costs $700. You're paying a premium for one of the best cards. 1080s were the same way till the ti came out. 1070 is about as good of a deal as a 1080, density is lower, but efficiency is higher (1060 has higher efficiency then a 1070, but density really starts to become a issue).

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

Is DGB-skein currently the most profitable algo to be mining ? I can't decide between lbc/zec/dgb-skein

edit: i'm trying to use ccminer/alexis-1.0 for dgb-skein however i only get [2017-06-01 20:29:02] GPU#0:invalid argument error message, I'm not really sure why the same config works fine on tpruvot or sp miner, anyone else had the same issue ? GTX 1060 6gb

you can use the --cpu-priority on ccminer to fix this "issue"

It depends on your CPU and how many GPUs you have. A typical deskop with an i5 or better, and one or two
GPUs can easily CPU mine as well as GPU mine. A CPU with fewer cores than GPUs should have no other
applications running on the CPU.

Hi everyone. I have big problem with ccminer v 2.0 release.

I using 4 Palit GameRock 1070 8GB, Windows 10.

Every card has the same settings:

Power Limit 70%
Temp Limit 71%
Core Clock 150 MHz
Memory Clock 416 MHz

I tried mining DGB-skein. And when I start ccminer and resize cmd while ccminer starts, I always get error messages like
- unexpected launch failure or GPU #NN (number of GPU)  misaligned address.

if I try to close background window to task panel when ccminer starts, I get the same errors also.

I get error with message about bad address allocation in string 717 of the ccminer and ccminer crashes immediately after this message. So I can't remember message error exactly, sorry.

After few hours of mining ccminer crashes with errors bad address allocation in string 717 of the ccminer or GPU #NN (number of GPU)  misaligned address.

I don't have any problem with current card's settings with another applications for mining. I looked through internet about decision, but I didn't found anything about this ccminer's errors.

Maybe I do something wrong? Can somebody help me?

Sincerely,
Alex

Please, maybe somebody can help to compile the code correctly? I'm on Ubunty 17.10 with Cuda 8.0
I'm already compile the code from git repository linux and from main branch with the same error results:

When I compile the code I add "-fPIC" to nvcc to compile that, because without that it was the problem to link .o files.

How to recompile that to get to work?... Thanks...

i guess Amph is stealing electricity, would not surprise me Wink

a 1080ti can do 1giga in skein, one giga can earn you 0.18 btc a month(on yiimp it say 0.006 a day x 30 is 0.18), $2k per btc that is $360 a month, electricity is negligeable...

can someone explain how 1080Ti is making 1GH/s on skein, but 1080 only 660MH ? Just using different miners?

Can someone help me to compare 1060-3gb / 1060-6gb / 1070 / 1080 ?
A friend who wants to start mining "for fun" wants to buy few cards , I think he won't pay more than 900-1000e for the "mining" system, and asked for advice (he wants NV)
And as I use AMD (not counting 2 750s) I fail to find detailed comparison Sad

Am I right to assume these numbers more or less correct:
Code:
Algo/coin            Ethereum      Equihash     Skein
1060 3gb           18-19           250             300(?)
1060 6gb           19              260             380
1070               25              380             580
1080               21              400             800+ (??)

Thus I think 1060 3Gb or 1070 are better  bang for buck IF we talk about limited number of cards to use, not about power-density-per-rig? Similar ROI, they are better in dagger-hashimoto and equihash per-$, also should lose less value 5 wise
Does these calculations seem ok?
For reference, approximate prices here (in euro)
1060 3gb - 240e
1060 6gb - 290e
1070 -  420e
1080 - 550e

I think he'll be better with 2x1070 or 3-4x1060 3gb?
Thanks in advance Smiley

skein is just about cuda cores, that hashrate is normal: 1080Ti has 40% more cores than 1080, which in turn has 33% more cores than 1070, IIRC.

unfortunately that's best end-user price available.... buying from other country will be cheaper but will bring warranty and resale problems

yeah 2 x 1070 look better, but i need density now i have no more room, and i only have the option to add another gpu, so the smart move is to buy the faster one

still on skein 550MH of a single 1070 versus 1G of a 1080ti, is a very good compromise, 80% faster...

also do people really care about the price of a gpu at the moment? when everything is roing in two months? i don't care much about that, it's also funny because my last rig roid in a week or so...and i'm not joking i just hit some good profitable coin

p.s. i have noticed that the 1080ti is bad on some algo, like neoscrypt, can this be improved, or it's because of the gddr5x?

GDDR5X GPUs still have issues with compatibility. A 1080 for instance will sometimes get the full 30% speed increase over a 1070, but often times it wont. About half the algos worth mining right now have problems with GDDR5X. You'll get anywhere from 10%-30% (usually around 15%). A 1080ti is no different. It's a shitshow, skein doesn't have problems.

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.
