a few lines under

https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/wiki/Compatibility
says
Quote
So, basically, if you have a nVidia GeForce GTX 470, and that's all you're using, then you'd want to comment out the other nvcc_ARCH lines and make sure that only nvcc_ARCH += -gencode=arch=compute_20,code=\"sm_20,compute_20\" was uncommented.
for GeForce GTX 560 Ti   2.1
nvcc_ARCH += -gencode=arch=compute_20,code=\"sm_21,compute_20\"
should be added?
Or only
nvcc_ARCH = -gencode=arch=compute_20,code=\"sm_21,compute_20\"
should be added and uncommented?

==========================================

compiled with only one line uncommented:
Code:
nvcc_ARCH = -gencode=arch=compute_20,code=\"sm_21,compute_20\"

no more errors.

thanks!

THE GTX 730 IS AN OLD CARD--

There are older CudaMiner softwares that may work on the GTX 730 card.  But, as previously posted on this page, a GTX 750ti would be a better choice.  The Maxwell series chips (750ti) brought in a new era.  I believe that the 730 is a Kepler chip.  You will need an older software, and it will be less efficient.  Likely, it will cost more in electricity than any income generated by the older, smaller card.

A new, or new-old-stock, or used 750ti is still a good investment.  I haven't purchased a GTX 1050ti, but it is likely a good starter card.  I earned a LiteCoin with a GTX 550ti using CBuchner's CudaMiner.  it took several weeks, and was worth $20 or so at the time (2014).       --scryptr

Power Consumtion around 40Watts
arch 3.5
GK208
isnt that old  but more for office use  but you can mine too on them , sure another cards are more powerfull compared to them

I LOOKED UP THE CARD MODEL--

With that generation of card, any model lesser than a GTX 750 was designated with only a "GT" prefix.  If there is a problem with the mining code in the Windows version, the problem is beyond me.

The GT 730 is a low-profile, low-energy, and low-cost card.  Conceivably, it could be utilized in a rack-mount system.  Still, it is an older card.  I have a PNY GT9800+ (top of  the model line) that will mine scrypt at 14kh/s, but the CPU on my mobile phone will do it faster, and at the risk of catching fire in my pocket.

A rack of 36 GT 730 cards may cost less than $3000, and run on household current.  Would it be worth it?  I don't know.  I wasn't able to find a hashrate/reward calculator after a quick search.       --scryptr

GT 730 was my first GPU that could mine. It's Kepler, sm 3.5 so efficiency is not an option.
A Pascal version would be useful where space is an issue but still not practical for large scale.

But the initial question was not about buying a GT 730 but getting an existing one to work. It does
if you specify the correct algo on the command line, just like any other card.

GOOD CATCH! NO ALGO SPECIFIED--

After carefully re-reading all the info posted, it is apparent that no mining algorithm was declared in the launch line.  I also noted that there was some "auto" routine called, and I was unaware that CCminer could correctly determine the required algorithm from a connection alone.  If this is a new feature, it may need work.       --scryptr

Which algo should i use? I'm interested in monero and dash mining right now and neither of those are "explicitly" listed there.

THE MONERO COIN (XMR) ALGO IS CRYPTONIGHT--

Several coins use the algo.  There are other variations, also.  The Readme file helps, and if you run CCminer like this:

 "ccminer -h > help.txt"

you will get a text file with all the commands explained.  Together with the Readme file, you should be able to better understand CCminer.       --scryptr

Trying TSIV's version of ccminer (ccminer-cryptonight-0.17) with the cryptonight i get the below when trying to compile.....seems i just have no luck with this..... it would be fabulous if i could find an RPM or something for nivida and cuda that would mine monero...... Not sure where to go from here...
