So let me get this straight.. He sent BTC, wants a refund, but minersource is choosing to refund the USD amount. But when I got my refund, minersource chose to refund the same amount of Bitcoin instead of the USD equivalent. And you think this is fair? So minersource benefits regardless of the price of Bitcoin, because they'll choose to refund the option that benefits them every time.
I guess I was right in my presumption that had the price of Bitcoin gone up from when I purchased (BTC =$1167 when I paid), then they'd try to get me to accept less Bitcoins to coincide with the USD value, versus them forcing me to accept the same amount of coins, even though the value has fallen by half since then.

Like I said, they're having their cake and eating it too.

See update.

I think regardless of what they refund you in - Bitcoin or USD it is OK as long as the value of the refund is the same as what you originally paid (minus a processing fee if they charge one).
And that's the problem. They choose the option where the value is less, regardless of the exchange rate.
See update.

Theres a clear different between pre-orders up thru april that took BTC and said BTC was forwarded BA, and further orders when we switched to Bitpay and Shopify and BTC was then cashed out to USD and sent to BA. Pretty simple.
Stop trying to justify your fraud. I lost $1200 because of you. My only regret is not requesting a refund sooner.

We've started the design in June. The only difference between us and our competitors is that we do not give unrealistic time frames which we know we cannot meet.

We are confident that we will deliver sooner but we do not make promises that we might not be able to fulfill.

Warning: Trade with extreme caution!

I've put my block eruptors back on-line and pointed them at 127.0.0.1:8332.

I now have some hope of breaking even.

There's going to be a jump of almost 30 Petahash in 6 days.

Does anyone know the reasons why there is so large difficulty jump (around 25%) this time?

Some new mines being started somewhere? The hardware being replaced in established mines?

If so, do you know which mines and what is their Petahash input?

After two months of "next week" it seems BA has changed their tune, David says "this week" on their forum. KnC was "[last week]" @ 20nm.

How are the X1 customers doing? Enjoying your 100Gh/s miner?

So ready to hear from Bobsag today that all of the boxes have arrived safe and sound and that the testing is underway and they will be reshipped today overnight for delivery tomorrow!  That would seriously be almost better news than my now fiancee saying yes to my proposal last Friday Wink

But Bobsag, here are some requests/suggestions...

1. If pictures take time, please do not take them of all of the boxes, in and out as soon as possible.  All that is needed is one little update saying, "hey, we got everything and are sorting through it now."

2. Please let us know as soon as possible if anything else will be needed by us to plug and play these.  aka. power cord.

That is all I can think of right now, very excited to be moving on with this debacle.

Could it be the Neptunes from KnC?

Yes Neptune is defo contributing to it but not £30 Petahash. It's like 3 massive mining pools are joining :-)

I like how BA hasn't bothered to lower the price of their miners even as other manufacturers drop their prices and release new miners. $373 for 100gh was barely a good deal back in December. I sense it's just another way of them manipulating their compensation. I just can't see anyone buying those in the last month thinking it's a good deal. Maybe that's why they don't want to talk compensation, they probably haven't had any more money roll in since they got people to pre-order their compensation power supplies.

No money coming in means no money to build compensation units. If they lower the price to get more people to buy in then their compensation numbers go up even higher as they promised to send extra hashing power if they lowered the price.

Yep. Despite all the accusations, I don't see a scam. I see a company that severely underestimated the scale of this project. They made certain promises that I'm sure they intended to keep, but now they're just f'ed. If they lower the price to encourage new money, they'll have to extend that savings to orders placed in November, thereby canceling out the new money. If they allocate all their resources to a fair compensation for existing customers, they have no product to sell to new customers. It's a catch 22, and everyone's left holding the bag.

Yep,.. never attribute to malice what can easier be explained by stupidity or incompetence. (Both of which BA seem to mine considerably faster than bitcoins)

they will drop the price after these ship.  if they do it now they will have to increase what their suckers, errr, their batch 1 people, receive.

the X-3's will be cut to ~3K immediately after existing orders are filled.  I've seen other manufacturers do that already and there's no reason these guys won't also, as there's no fricking way anyone in their right mind is ordering an X-3 for 6K when you can buy a 1.6 from Cointerra off the shelf for 3349, and they're still not moving at that price.  Those assholes shipped all their preorders at 6K a pop and then slashed the price in half.

just another way these manufacturers are fucking the people that paid them in the first place.  they charge x at time Y, then deliver at time z when the product is worth 0.5x, keep the original customers' money for a product that is no longer worth what they paid for it, then slash prices to dump the remainder, all the while stringing people along and dicking them on refunds and anything else they can get away with, and hiding behind semantics and bullshit all the while.

Dealing with Black Arrow has, without question, been the shittiest experience I have ever had in terms of buying a product.  The other ASIC manufacturers are no better from what I've seen, with a few exceptions.

Damn, you must live next door,I thought the just got them a few hours ago! They didn't give you a power cord at all?

Our first units did not include any power cables, we will be ordering enough spare cables at least for all our US customers. Several people did local pickups today, hence them having them so fast.

So have you tested any units if you don't have power cables, I assume you tested a few, but not in bulk? How long will it be to get the cables and will our orders be put on hold until those come in?  can we request the units be sent without cables and we can source our own or pay for shipping for those separately?

wow! So somebody drove from Southern California to pick up their miner in Colorado and drove all the why back home to post "The first of my X-1 units arrived today."

Hi all -

Will I accept FIAT or bitcoins?
- I am happy to accept bitcoin or USD via any of the typical payment formats.

Will I do an in person exchange?
- Yes, I am located in Southern California.

Will I use escrow?
- Yes, the fee will be added on top of the sale price.

When will this auction end?
- I have a handful of people interested at the $2000 price in the initial post. (Which is about 29.4 BTC as of today.) If you are interested in making new offers please let me know.

Will I ship outside of the USA?
-Yes, the cost of shipping will be added to the sale price.

Is there anybody on this forum that can be trusted? Hell! I just learned that the guy who invented Bitcoin (Satoshi Nakamoto) doesn't even exist or is in hiding for some reason. I thought Bitcoin was a company up to today. I didn't even know that when I worked at butterfly labs not that it matter any.

I'm in the IE too. Moreno Valley.

*Waves from Colorado* You do realize that post was from a year ago?

I thought about how to give you guys some assurances that I am in CO... but everything gives away a ton of person information. How about IP address?

That's probably not enough. What if I add a Lego mini figure to the photo?

He is very Coloradian. He looks like he just finished smoking a big blunt.

You can buy the power cables at Frys or microcenter or steal them from a laptop, etc. They are standard Mickey Mouse cables. C13 would have been better though.

I know I can buy the cables, just really didn't want to spend about 10% of the cost of each machine just to get the correct cable for it.  Was more curious as to how long this would delay shipping.  Hopefully Bobsag will confirm that the cables will arrive tomorrow and shipping will commence?
