If I've understood right sending shares is just a bookkeeping tool. Pool doesn't do anything with shares, but it shows that you do work.

You can send few high difficult shares or many low difficult shares. End result is the same.

Shares are what you get rewarded for.

Shares are what CKDB counts and uses to decide your part of the reward when one of those shares found by anyone on the pool is a block.

So, yeah I guess you could word them as effectively useless, but, if you don't submit them, you don't get rewarded, and total diff of the shares you submit determines how much you get rewarded.

So although blocks must be found before anyone gets a reward, you get no reward without shares.

seem like ckpool proxy mode is not reporting block solve message downstream.   not sure if that is the nature of the interaction or if i'm missing a setting. 

-ck removed the messages - at my request - if the miner isn't reporting itself as a proper miner.
I often got the impression, on block changes, that the hash rate would drop, and we took a guess at it being crappy miners/proxies not liking stratum messages.

Question, I wrote 20000 diff in "Workers\Management"? Then changed to 0, but asic reports that diff 20000, vardiff does not work? Rebooted, "off" then "on", same 20000.

Worst case create a new worker...

But it should go back to "Auto" if you set it to 0.
