There was also a high share about 7 hours ago: (about 2.25hrs before we got the block) [2016-02-10 07:34:36.738+11] Share ok Diff 98.0% (141162320081/144116447847.3) --- Pool 213413120924.0 213G 148.08%
(previous one was 9 days ago) Comparing these numbers to my highest share currently makes me realize how incredibly far off all my equipment is. I know it's all luck but man this difficulty is getting crazy high. This is not really anything new. The difficulty has been completely fucked since we left the GPU era. The difficulty is designed to protect bitcoin, not miners.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in
Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it
will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Anyone mining with tubes, I restarted the nonce proxy 20 mins ago. All should have just seen an immediate reconnect (we didn't lose or failover any users) One user's miners hadn't switched over from before, and this restart fixed it for them.

Block!
Damn. I thought for sure I'd beat you to the punch this time. You must sit in front of your computer clutching your iPhone waiting for the notification Nah...I'm just working at my computer doing swim team stuff and I have a cgminer cmd window open on my second screen. I see the messages from CKPool for each work accepted and any new blocks that are hit. If it belongs to kano.is, it shows me who hits it also. This cgminer is running an Antminer U3 which is useless for it's 63GHs hash but I like to keep an eye on the cmd window messages! random light bulb. switch to -l 7 and going to dig trough ckproxy.log to confirm a crazy idea.

Hello... Im a new miner to ckpool. Jumped over from Antpool.
At this moment ive moved over 130-140T/H with another 200T/H coming in the next 10 days or so.
I have 2 accounts at kano.is mainly because they are shared with different partners.
On one account ive set the BTC wallet address and its fine, ive been receiving payouts. On the next account, when i attempt to set this same BTC wallet address, it says Error : BTC address unavailable.
But this very same wallet receives payouts from kano.is under a different account.
Is there a reason for this? Can i set 2 - 3 different mining accounts to pay to the same wallet?
Thank you!

Awesome thepinkanator95 - with ~2THs! Well done, I haven't seen a block solved with that little hash for some time now. thepinkanator95, what is that, like 2 S5's?

kano has probably set some kind of protection that once a BTC address is linked to an account that it cannot be associated with another account. It would be far easier to just use a different address for the second account (and probably your only option unless kano changes this protection). BTW you can still mine directly to a BTC address instead of an account, you just don't get all the features on kano.is that user accounts get.

An address can only be associated with one account. This ensures that I can always combine rewards to the same address and always be able to reverse track a payout back to an account for when outstanding balances are implemented. You address history is recorded (forever) so there will always be a way to find the payouts for an account. Guarantees that the blockchain represents correctly your account.

With a hashrate of 1 PH is best to use the proxy for submit share with high difficulties 500K and above or not use the proxy and have more connection for submit more share with a lower difficulty on average 70K.

From a latency point of view, ckproxy will mean much less network traffic between the proxy and the pool (if not run in passthrough mode) since one work item will be sent each block change to ckproxy and the ckproxy will break it up to each local miner. From a variance point of view, of course a 500K difficulty will mean higher variance than 70K difficulty. However there is no average expected loss due to the higher variance, just ... higher variance.

Well only a share with a difficulty high enough to solve a block will solve a block.

Yeah as mentioned above, this isn't relevant to finding blocks. With regards to finding shares, it's as I said, higher difficulty will mean fewer shares and higher variance, less network. Lower difficulty will mean more shares and lower variance, more network. The long term expected share reward of both is of course the same.

If I've understood right sending shares is just a bookkeeping tool. Pool doesn't do anything with shares, but it shows that you do work.
You can send few high difficult shares or many low difficult shares. End result is the same.

seem like ckpool proxy mode is not reporting block solve message downstream. not sure if that is the nature of the interaction or if i'm missing a setting.

Pool restart.. please? Haha! I remember a time when you just asking for a restart would seem to trigger a block. Looks like it worked again!

I often got the impression, on block changes, that the hash rate would drop, and we took a guess at it being crappy miners/proxies not liking stratum messages.
