Feeling sick today, flu like symptoms, so to feel better I just made homemade chicken soup. Then I realized, cool! Another block should be coming soon!

Not a big deal for the big miners, but slowly building up my setup with cheap 2nd hand stuff Instead of buying those hit up the new avalon group buy. Get more power and support the company doing the promo. Plus avalons seem to just have block after block fall to their will on kanos pool.

This might be not the correct place but I'm just wondering, with the halving coming soon. Isn't it better u postpone for buying any ASIC now? We can't even cover the electricity cost and the cost of buying the ASIC when the halving come, unless the bitcoin price goes up around 2x of what it is now.
But do you think the price will go up 2x ? It might go up for a while before the 16nm ASIC available to public. But after many miner use the 16nm, the price will go down again (but still above what it is now I think because the new miner will cost a lot I believe) and the old ASIC will be like a junk with so high power consumption don't you think?
Just wondering.

the avalon 6 and antminer s7 will still be profitable for some that have cheap enough power. Or those that just dont care.
and as of right now there is no confirmed new gear just speculation that some will be produced and sold to the public. so the 1/2ing may get here and no new gear is ready to be released in which case the avalon/antminer is all we will have to work with at the time being.

Thanks Champs.. Made it with BTC a dress, but will change. I need to see stats before rolling out on 113 miners… 😨
Another thing that throws new Kano CKPool miners off is the concept of 5Nd and shifts. There is a ramp up period which takes about 1-2 days before your payouts are at maximum. There's a bit of an explanation here on the Help/Payouts page... https://www.kano.is/index.php?k=payoutEdit: Here are a couple of more resources that can also be beneficial to monitoring your gear...a couple of kano miners have developed tools on their own (tips go a long way!) https://ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1344360.0Thanks again. Helping getting an overview. Lets see how it goes. The kano.de has OK ping times, but could improve a little.

Can't make up my mind to sell off the S5's or wait for the Bitfury upgrade of the S5's. That would make them all small reliable 3.5TH miners…
Welcome to kano.is, I hope you enjoy your stay. It surprises me that miners of substantial size are only just now finding this pool. What is this Bitfury upgrade for the S5, do you have a link about this to share? Ukrainian project, which zOU mentioned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368053.0 sidehack/kilo17 community miner project: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368507.0Looking forward to see what is sidehack's final product The Sidehack project IS an blade upgrade for the S5`s.

Yes, I am fully aware of that. It's a retrofit for S1 chassis, but it should fit just as fine with S3, S5 Just mean't that I wonder what will be the final specifications, connectivity etc. He was thinking out loud about 4TH/s /480W (stock) per 2 boards. Is yours much over that 50ms -ish range?

Hey, philipma...where do you get your chicken? It's so interesting to watch the thread around the halving, etc. I think I have a pretty good idea of what will come about, but much of that has to do with having observed the last event, and the dynamics are indeed different today. My partner and I are maxxing out our power availability with a combo of S7s and S3s, and we are fairly confident it's a good move at this time for our long-term purposes. Having a resource like this board is a significant asset. You're all appreciated.
