There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I have a sidehack modded S7-LN (2TH @ ~450 watts) that is powered off and gathering dust now. I was never able to get it to reliably connect to any pool, and I couldn't figure out why it was so. I upgraded my network connection to a higher speed and still no joy. If you are at all interested in the details you can read about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1562227.0Cheers, - zed I have a 2Mbs connection (256KB/s) , so pretty slow. I've ran up to: - 1 S7 - 4 S5 - 4 S3+ - 6 compac - 6 U3 Without any issue. And that's on top of 13 computers and 2 cellphone on wifi. So my guess is that it is not a speed issue, but a firewall/proxy filtering your bitcoin packets.... I was thinking the same thing, but it seems that the only packets/messages getting filtered are the ones where the miner is sending a result to the pool. And as soon as the miner sends a TCP RST to the pool, everything works again, until the result is sent. Occasionally the miner is able to submit shares, but then fails over to a backup pool... I've given up on the S7-LN and I'm only running the single Compac and my ethereum GPU rig, which is rock solid, if not a hashing monster. I'll probably try to sell the S7-LN before too long, and use the money to add a GPU to the ethereum rig. Cheers, - zed

At 43PH, pool is doing very well to crunch a decent amount of blocks these past few days - especially after a bad drought end August. Mine on!

Nice day for kano So far, so very good!! We still have more than half of the official mining day remaining - for me it ends at 8 PM EST USA. About 13 hours. Looks to be a very productive day on the Block front! Keep it up girls and guys! I'm pulling ya! Edit: Probably shouldn't have said anything. Don't want to jinx the good vibes and positive monads flowing freely upon us! Come on Blocky #Five! Number Five, Number Five, Number Five, Number Five, Number Five, Number Five.... (My apologies to the Beatles.)

It is so VERY cool outside right now, 49 degrees F. My S9 board temps are in the mid to upper 40's, and the chip temps are in the mid 70's! LOVE IT! Fall is right around the corner! Happy Saturday everyone! Edit: That is with default clock speeds!

Slept in late - nice to wake up to 4 blocks! Looks like Tropical Storm Hermine has started turning east out to sea so Jersey shore will be spared the brunt of it (I'm .6 miles from the ocean & get jittery after the spanking that Hurricane Sandy gave us - still have 15 houses in town that never got repaired). Was hoping for nice 3 day weekend but looks like nothing but wind & rain, but at least we won't get flooded again. Let's keep those blocks coming! Mine on, my friends

Mine on, my friends Best of luck to you and your neighbors for the storm. Hopefully just a little damp without too much rain or flooding. Yes, "Hermine" moved farther to the east along the coast. So the heavy rains that were predicted just one day ago for my mountainous area will not receive any rain this far inland. Maybe a thunder shower in the late afternoon, which is normal summer-time weather around here. I was thinking just yesterday I might need to shut down my miners for the day, as I can't have the window fans sucking in torrential rains onto the miners. But it all looks clear now. Here's to finding a torrential downpour of blocks today! Best wishes!!

Thanks man! Glad to hear you're not gonna get hammered with rain & you can keep your miners running Here blocky, blocky Well, I just had to shut my miners down. Not because of rain, but my landscape guy is on his tractor cutting my grass. I have forgotten to close the windows on that side of the house once before when he cut it and you could see the layers of dust, dirt and grass clippings stuck to the window screens and window fan blades. I have since blown the dust out of all my miners and wiped down the fans. So now as soon as I hear the lawn mowers fire up, I run into the "coin room" and quickly unplug everything and close my windows! He's almost done anyway, so my miners will be back online in 5-10 more minutes. In the meantime, I had started a small 100TH rental from MRR yesterday to cover me when I thought I would have to be off-line today. So I'm still hashing along! Time for BLOCK SIX! EDIT: All my miners are back on-line. It took all of 30 minutes. So now I have a whopping extra ~38TH back on the pool. I've got another S9 that's in pieces on my desk waiting on B-man to (HOPEFLLY) return a NEW hash board and a NEW BB Black board. That will get me up to around ~50TH with my own hardware, and that's where I'm going to have to stay for the foreseeable future. Come on BLOCK SIX!

Come on BLOCK SIX! btw, pool Hash drop to 37PHHmmm, wonder if there are issues like a few days ago with connections or people have just jumped to another pool. Don't see why anyone would jump now as our luck has been steadily getting better over the last few days. As you said, "COME ON BLOCK SIX! Number Six, Number Six, Number Six, Number Six, Number Six, Number Six, Number Six, Number Six.... (It's actually down in the low 35's real-time, I believe) ~ Seriously don't like that. I want us back at 43-44. Please. Edit: Going back up now. So realistically there is no use watching the hash speed minute to minute. It's when it stays down or continues to fall is when I get concerned. So I'll shut up about that! LOL
