Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Heh I had a PM from someone asking why the bad luck in October ... So I checked the actual month value ...
45 blocks 4485.31% Diff i.e. luck is 100.3% (then add txn fees and subtract pool fee) So still better than 100% PPS (that all PPS pool pay less than that)
So we are still ahead for October at the moment with those 2 blocks we just got.

Well, if you put it like that. Yeah, I see that we have done 45 blocks so far this month. Way cool. I suppose I'm only looking at it from the last few days perspective. But like I said, I guess I'm spoiled and expect 6+ block days everyday. But I've always been a dreamer. Love this pool! Mine on!! Come on BLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

... and the September numbers ... which includes that 715% block at the very end of September:
110 blocks 11371.69% so we were behind on the month of September by 3.72 blocks, luck was 96.73%
Adding txn fees 102.9% and subtracting pool fees 99.1% the September result is: 98.6% PPS

man it's sure tempting to jump ship when things are like this....but have to remember I guess the average. We need about 3 coins per day to make money and we had some big days last week......fingers crossed this week is better.

I could get used to this...my per block rewards are up ~54% over last month. The overall result is still positive.

... luckyant has a BDR of ~4.5 and has found 9 blocks ...
Hi Kano, -is it possible to get BDR into the "my account tab" - Under what conditions it makes sense to run a local ckpool as proxy?

Hi Kano, -is it possible to get BDR into the "my account tab" No, for a number of reasons. Mainly though coz it's not available within CKDB since I don't keep all of shift history in RAM, it's a result of running the luck report on all of history, that currently takes about half an hour. - Under what conditions it makes sense to run a local ckpool as proxy?
Well you can run ckpool in proxy mode, so it's just a proxy, not really a "local ckpool" You'd use that when you have a lot of miners and want to reduce your network. When running ckproxy, it uses one connection for a large number of miners. This one connection gets one work item per pool work change (about every 30 seconds) and divides that up to all the miners. Thus it also reduces the network load on the pool in proportion to your number of miners. If the number of miners is high enough and fast enough to require it, it will use more than one connection.
