I'll be doing a CKDB restart in about 40 minutes. No miners will be affected. The web site/API will have lotsa ? for about 10 mins.
This update includes all the changes I've made (and tested) in the code over the last 4 weeks so there's quite a few in there. The changes are all 'under the hood' to do with reducing the memory usage of CKDB and more threading of the code.
CKDB restarted all ok - was from 08:27:45 to 08:36:40 UTC (9 minutes)

man I hope so, over 24 hours now since the last block, this isn't good.
I'm running here for a month to do a bit of a comparison to the "other" place. I was getting a consistent .05 to .09 btc per day with my hash rate. The fact they don't pay out as much of a block should add up fast when kano is hitting blocks but days like this make you leary.
On average all I need is 2-3 per day from kano to make it worth while to stay over here.....it's not much!

Well, according to my math, we should be getting about 3.63 blocks/day on average. And when we hit this fatass block, there will be more green ones following in its footsteps

patience, my young padawan.
something i learnt mining at this pool is... when the going gets tough, the tough gets going -- the pool delivers one way of the other. See the block stats - we are still well above 100% lucky. For a PPLNS pool - luck factor is key, in my opinion. I track the 50 and 100 blocks marker closely. I can almost guarantee you that once you leave the pool..... you may come back later, and regret for not braving through the hard times because nett-nett at the end of the 30 days, you still make more in this pool.

I have to ditto Citronick...I've been doing this (mining) since the beginning, have been to the top of Olympus and back to the underworld a couple of times...have mined on six different pools at different times, and solo...and I can say with a scientist's conviction that you'll do better here over the long term than anywhere else. Many miners are of the "gambler" profile...not that it's a bad thing, it's just the way some of us "beautiful people" are put together...and the luck/benefit factor is what draws them. It's also, however, an Achilles' Heel when periods of lower luck come in...the urge for immediate gratification can be overpowering, and lead to pool-hopping, which can only hurt the miner. The long discussions we've had on transparency and operational efficiency are critical as well. EDIT: ...and yes, I did the gambler thing for a number of years...Hold'Em...and was quite good at it. I just watch now, though. I'm a retired profiler, and don't like playing poker online where I can't read the other players. Additionally, once I got credentialed as a behavioral scientist, no one wanted to play against me. Gee...wonder why...

Gee...wonder why... Actually, I think it would be a heck of a learning experience to play poker against a profiler / behavioral scientist. Especially if that profiler / behavioral scientist would be willing to help identify my tells and suggest ways to eliminate them Back to mining discussions ...

Please, SOMEONE bust this ugly-A** red block!!!
it would be second worst block found after the halving. The worst is still 421721 2016‑07‑21 15:43:54 1,010,935,125,463 473.523% I wonder if we crack this one before it becomes the anti-leader after we go above 473.5%
