Thanks for the super fast reply, I will just ignore them until I get my head around doing firmware upgrades, now that looks like a challenge from all I have read. Anyway, again, thanks for super fast reply.
My S3 firmware upgrade isn't actually a firmware upgrade, just a change to whatever firmware you are running (though should be latest)
So it can't brick it Smiley
The readme says the steps.
https://bitbucket.org/TheKano/cgminer-binaries/src/f5884bfece7a8dfd48550cb172272212459be51c/AntS3/?at=master

This is way cool. I've got six of these (well, five running and one down) and would like to make certain they're all "up to snuff" as they'll eventually be paid forward to some folks to get them baptized to BTC. Gonna be taking the S3s all apart and cleaning, etc. soon as the A6 comes in...which leads to...

...I decided to go Avalon for now. It's become a matter of principle (and I'm thankful I don't have to actually make a living mining, and so don't feel locked in to a higher producing, more expensive machine). The interesting thing is that I placed an order with Jon at Canaan day before yesterday; they got back to me last night (on their initiative...I hadn't asked anything...I like that) apologizing for a delay, and that they're setting up a new shop. Of course, I'm only on my first cup of French press and so my mind starts clicking, "Oh, my! Maybe new hardware line as well? Oh, my!"

Nice thought...we should ALL be so lucky...anyway, good to wake up to lots of positive activity and Sonny's play-by-play (which I love as well).

Tiger Kitty (the 16-yr old senior feline here) wanted to share this toward the group effort:

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Just got an s9 11.85.

Two boards only pull 780 watts.
Two boards on my s7 pull 800 watts.

Can just switch them out one for one in the datacenter.

For those about to block we salute you! AC->BTC

I don't *think* they are interchangeable. Could be wrong. If they are, I've got a dead S9 board that I'd love to swap for an S7 board. The idea had occurred to me but I didn't think it would work.
Hope I'm wrong. Smiley

I meant one whole s9 for one whole s7
S9's have a longer chassis, longer boards.

Have s9's been hitting blocks on the pool? They seem to have a pretty high best share compared to s7's

The S7 and the S9 both use the same wattage so you could swap out an S7 and pop in an S9...actually my 2 S9s use slightly less power than
some of my S7s  Grin
