Just saw the "Monthly Stats" thing added to the blocks page...cool.  Cool  Kinda caught me by surprise.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Yeah actually it was the fact that it caught me by surprise, was the reason I added it.
When I checked this month's luck the other day, it was actually better than I thought it was, after seeing so much hash rate abandon ship.

I clearly spend WAY too much time worrying about luck, when it's actually OK.
Not that it'll make any difference to what I do, just less stress worrying about it when it's not 110% Smiley

Monthly stats is a nice addition to the web page. Really puts things in clear perspective. This is still the best place to mine (not that I had any doubt).

Agreed!  Love the new monthly stats!

And I love that our last 9 blocks have all been 13+ BTC!  Grin

Yes, the monthly stats are very nice to see. I'm a little surprised at the findings, but in a good way. It's great to be able to see the outcomes in true numbers rather than worrying about a particular bad streak of days. It always seems worse when the blocks aren't falling and the blocks get fewer and farther between and... redder.  Tongue

It has seemed that the steam had been sucked out of us with the hash rate decrease. But looking at the numbers in black and gray, we are really doing pretty well considering the drop. The hash drop has also meant my block payments are fatter - a nice consequence for us that are hanging in there - and that's always great to see!!

Thanks, Kano, for the good, hard work and helping us see clearer the big picture! Sometimes we get lost starring at the trees (blocks), and don't see the whole forest for what it is!   Cheesy

Here's to a (hopefully) difficulty decrease this time around. That would be sweet.

Come on BLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Mine ON, Brothers and Sisters!!  Keep on Cracking! Cool

EDIT: Kano, if you feel up to it and have the time, is it possible to put the average pool hash rate number in those monthly stats. I think that would be really interesting to see! Smiley
Thanks again!

Interesting stats Kano - seems with lower PH we had more blocks per month (see Mar-May)

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

Diff goes up Smiley

Also the May luck was close to 100% so that one breaks any long term clear pattern also.
Basically the luck went below 100% the week before and for a while after the halving.
Alas, none of the numbers are outside expectation, so we can just hope August (the worst, being 8 block behind) was just bad luck and nothing else.

Trying to analyze Lady Luck can be tricky.  She has 3 modes; Normal, Joy, and Agony.  She can and will shift to any mode at any moment.  Here on kano.is I realized a long time ago that the quality management and true transparency here gives us a bit of an edge over the long term.

Excellent! Thank you.
It's very nice to see the numbers laid out like that. It makes it very clear what's happening on the pool!  Smiley

EDIT: Kano, is the Pool Avg., Blocks, Expected, etc. in the Monthly Statistics updated in real time or is that something you must update manually?
Thanks for all you do!!

EDIT2: I should clarify my question. Are the fields on the Monthly Statistics table updated when a new block is found? That would seem more reasonable. Thanks!

Perhaps so, but you know what I say, "twice is a coincidence, three times is a conspiracy!"  Cheesy

BTW, I really do like the monthly tallies. Nice!

Of course.

Aside: all the block statistics on that page (except the page header) are updated when we find new blocks - that also means the 'current unfound block' is not part of those statistics, since it isn't a block.

Anyone watching ... CKDB just restated.
Cause was a database limit - I'm looking into why ...
All OK, no (data or) miners were affected.
