How long does it takento see the block on the reward page?
Thought it was a couple of min 🙈

Block was on the reward page literally a couple minutes after the block was found.

A couple minutes?   I woke up, looked at the web site on my android phone,  Saw the timer for Pool block was 51 Minutes, but the block was not listed in block listing, NOR any reward.  I refreshed page, went to reward page, then blocks page a few times.  it was only after another stresfull few minutes( Oh No, where is the BTC)  that the information on both reward and block listigns actually showed up.   Normally I see them pretty quick after we find a block, this one was different for some reason.

Yay its in the reward section

Been kining with small miners on and off in the pool  for about 1 month but now i have an s9 running 247 and by smaller miners coming on board when i get to work
So prob my ramp up is gonna take prob a bit longer than usual lol
What's your expected total THs vs. what is shown on this most recent reward?
This is the most recent block

If you're planning on running all those all the time, then 7.08 / ( 13.5 + 1.5 + 8 ) = ~30%

Is there a medium miner bonus giveaway planned?

I see that those with 10+ PH/s get a nice reward. And now small miners Smiley

Perhaps there’s room for a bonus for middle sized miners? Wink
Doesn't hurt to ask, I suppose...

For anyone who hasn't heard, anything outside of Kano's 5 & 9.5PH giveaway--0.5 & 1BTC respectively for up to 3 per person and up to 10BTC total--are free-will, miner donations. Kano's is on a whole 'nother level, but it still comes out of his pocket, technically.

What a great mining pool and community! IT'S THE BEST EVER!!!

Absolutely, it’s a fantastic community from what I’ve seen Smiley by far the most active.

I was more referring to those who are under the 5-10PH, but larger than the 250TH mark.

Wink but yes, no harm to ask if there was any possible bonus, as there is only 2 people above 5PH, but 30 between 250TH and 5PH.

Roughly, based on the Help > Payouts section of the website (see below), I'd say since your S9 is half way there, you have about 250% (4.5 days) left.

The pool hash rate for the last day is roughly 91.87PHs which means the 5Nd 'ramp' is roughly 9days 9hrs.

The block is on the Blocks page first, before anyone, but the person who found the block, can know about it Smiley

The Rewards page shows the block usually about 13 minutes later, but can sometimes take a lot longer.
It's basically the maximum of 3 things:
1) 13 minutes
2) the next confirm (+2)
3) there's a rare 'delay bug' where it can sometimes take an extra shift before it shows it on the Rewards page - but it always does show it as long as it's OK

However, the way to know for sure if the block is all OK is the Blocks page.
Once the block reaches +2 confirms, KDB checks it's still in the blockchain, so usually only a few seconds after +2, KDB will know it's all OK, or change it's state if something is wrong.
(It continues this check, each network block change, until +6)

In this particular case it was:
Code:
[2018-03-24 15:39:06.334+00] _bloks_add(): BLOCK! Status: New, Block: 514974/...00003489c0f3f89e Diff 5.36T UTC:2018-03-24 15:39:06.121478+00
[2018-03-24 15:49:39.849+00] generate_marks() mark 6525896154197082260/e/x/Shift fin: 9y94h zekken/Block 514974 fin/
[2018-03-24 16:37:21.858+00] generate_marks() mark 6525896154197082360/e/x/Shift fin: 9y9a5 ako//
[2018-03-24 16:37:38.044+00] process_pplns(): payout 3234 setup for block 514974/6525896154197082260/1/1254909761 wm=339 ms=1835124 users=1619 times=5.0 add=0.0 addr_cd=1521905946,121478
So it looks like it was case 3) above since the block was a 'zekken' block but the pplns wasn't generated until just after 'ako'

...
Are all shares equal?
Is the # of shares the most important statistic in terms of rewards?

...
Higher diff will produce less shares.
Lower diff will produce more shares.
Both will produce the same expected Reward.

Quote
Is it better to leave it on variable difficulty and let it find it's own nirvana or is there a specific number that will work better?
It's best to let the pool decide, unless you want to lower your network usage and if you have hundreds or thousands of miners.

The total network usage of a single miner is so small that I don't think anyone could save money changing it, unless they had hundreds or thousands of miners - and in this case you'd be best to use a proxy anyway which will reduce it down to the equivalent of a single miner.

Quote
Worker Name:   Work Diff   :Last Share   Shares   :Diff   :Share Rate   «Elapsed   :Invalid   Block %   :Hash Rate
BMCA_1           12.238k   1s                   41   501,758   14.37THs   2m 30s   2.381%   0.016%   13.69THs
Looking at your worker page - since I can Smiley - that high invalid % is due to when it connected, it had a single stale share.
Note it says you submitted 41 shares, but the stale % was 2.318% ... and 2.318% of 41 is approximately 1 Smiley

I will add that, looking at the statistics at 41 shares = about 2 minutes of mining ... which is not very long at all.

On the Workers->Shift Graph page,
if you are mining the whole of the light red area of the block reward = 5Nd (as it says) then you are 5Nd ramped up Smiley

If not, then you can, very roughly, estimate it as the % of the light red area you were mining in.
That estimate will be an under estimate of your %, i.e. your % of the 5Nd will be higher than that, since the pool hash rate has grown over the last 5Nd.

Ask!!! Hahaha!!! Maybe Kano can change the contest to a more "real world user friendly" number.  I don't know. It's up to him, cause it's Kano's Bitcoin to give. I do know, I was promoting, and pushing for others to Help, and he announced the Giveaway amidst the confusion. (go back about 50 pages to see) He is the only one to CHANGE the criteria of the giveaway, since it's out of his pocket.

Realistically, YOUR number of TH/s makes sense, because it relates to ALOT of miners I've encountered during this giveaway. There are not ALOT that are eligible, BUT, there are at YOUR level. So, with that I ask:

Kano. Can you look a little further at the particular numbers of the 10 btc giveaway,  and consider miners at  "less than Corporate" numbers to be included??? There's ALOT of miners who are between 250THs and 5 PH/s out there who COULD be applicable.
Our numbers have increased dramatically, could there be a way to reconfigure the GIVEAWAY to include MORE real world Applicants???

I could easily change my Promotion to include the "new numbers" in which YOU decide. I understand completely what YOUR contribution is, and the COST, that comes with it.

Not to rain on your parade, but it sounded like Kano's intention was to woo large miners from other pools rather than just spend the pool fee rewarding those who already mine here.

It's at the limits set coz we need more miners in those ranges.
The problems before, when the pool has taken a dive, have been due to having too few large miners.
If one person leaving, puts us in the position we were in, at the end of last year, then I need to resolve that.

... and in case anyone has delusions about the 10BTC ... I've been risking an exceptionally large % of all my BTC, over the last couple of months to get the pool size back up, and it's been working, and that 10BTC more is not a small % either ... it is directed where I currently deem mandatory.
