Mine On!

Good morning Team Kano

LOVING the weekend block party... makes me bullish on expanding my little operation.  Doing a little Sunday morning couch shopping for miners...

Anyone seen this and have any experience dealing with them?  https://tidbit.store/category.php?page=2&catid=btc&results=6&orderin=ASC&orderby=ID

Also, has anyone bought into the Dragonmint hype?  https://halongmining.com/

Both seem likely to be filed in the "too good to be true" category.  Nobody is advertising T9s or R4s anymore, much less at essentially "retail" prices from Bitmain.

Mine on!  Let's finish January in the green!

Hey guys can anyone please tell me what is the HS code for the Bitmain APW++ power supply for me to be able to import into USA?  I want to buy 26 units but I don’t know the HS code.  Huh

Thanks!

Anyone?
If you have not got the answer, this has details on miners in general.  Not sure about power supplies.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=620682.0

Here was another article talking about magna power supplies that should get you close.

Harmonized (HTS) Code / Customs Tariff Code
MagnaDC: 8504.40.9540, Power Supplies (rectifiers and rectifying apparatus) of a rated power output exceeding 500 watts
MagnaLOAD: 8533.40.80, Other, Electrical resistors (including rheostats and potentiometers), other than heating resistors; partsthereof
Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)
EAR99, Under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce and not listed on the Commerce Control List

When I have imported, I google Harmony code and a often description of what it does.  Saved myself a couple thousand that way one time with our pc-2-tv.net devices.

I was able to set my S9 fan speed manually and the reason was it keeps ramping the speed up to 6k and down constantly, my question is what is the safe temperatures on this miner?

I had temp issues recently also..-

-35 Celsius outside and my 14x S9's struggled to keep the workshop above 40 Farenheight...some temps of units near floor level were down to low 40's also...fans down to <2500 RPM on many units.
Awesome miner on average reports temps much  higher than miner itself...

I mine in -30C.  I restrict my fan intake by about 30% to allow the boards to get warm, and I boot them while warming them with a hair-dryer.  I use aluminum duct tape, but you could use anything that won't accidentally get sucked in.

Any thoughts on dealing with the 30C summer highs?

not a issue, fans run at full speed and you need to throw the hot air outside the mining room

Just found out something interesting for folks in the USA. Not sure if it applies to other countries.

I was looking to buy another couple of power supplies from the great underground empire of poo.
The last time I tried they accepted bitcoin as payment. They now only accept a US Wire Transfer or that other
crypto currency that will not be named.

I also noted their shipping was almost $100 via DHL.

The total cost from the great underground empire of poo would have been over $300 USD.

I checked and NewEgg is selling the same power supplies for about $120 and free shipping, AND NewEgg takes
payment in bitcoin.

Clarification, each power supply was about $120, so it would be about $240 for two, about a $60 savings and
as well as better ethical ground.

For my own part, I will support companies that support bitcoin.

Hope the info helps

I've been using Newegg for quite a while...especially after they began accepting BTC.  I've got two friends who want to get started mining, and I would like an A8, but who knows if they'll be "available" without opening escrow.

...and...YEAH...gotta love waking up to blocks...

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

O my guys, I only started mining on the 10th, and we have found 4 blocks. Still ramping up, but love to see it, thanks all. Can anyone suggest a mobile app for monitoring or even a website that is mobile friendly?

Wow, I decided to stop obsessing over blocks for a few days and this is what happens!  This is the first time in my four years of mining that I have been on the plus side of a lucky streak - it totally makes up for the dry spells!

About three years ago I bought a Microsoft Surface from Newegg for jut over 5 BTC!  Was so excited at the time - if I could only go back and slap my self silly!

Not going too specific here but you can get the rest of the info elsewhere, I am not responsible if you get it wrong, I am sure this would have to be repeated if you loose power or restart the miner

added these two lines bmminer.conf
"bitmain-fan-ctrl" : true,
"bitmain-fan-pwm" : "100",

restart bmminer
/etc/init.d/bmminer.sh restart

re the dragonmint IMHO it remains vaporware with ZERO trustworthy information about its existence beyond a couple protptypes. IF and I must repeat IF it makes it into mass production then quite frankly Halong has done what must the the worst product announcement in history....

I can't believe I keep doubting this pool. I am a total idiot. I'm still new to this and have slowly gone from 1 S9 to 3 over the last couple of months. Being new I am just in such a hurry to feel like I'm doing the right thing and making the most money back that I can for what I've put into it. In doing so I'm making bad decisions so I can see something each day rather than potentially waiting days or weeks for a payout. This is just not the best way...

Kano

Here are my Kano payouts that I'm still getting even though I've been off the pool for some time now. Columns... Your N Avg, Your BTC, and what that reward would be if I was 40.5 Th/s for 3 miners.

2.64   0.00127068      0.01949339
2.63   0.00149492      0.02302063
2.63   0.00158584      0.02442073
3.05   0.00179686      0.02385994
2.97   0.00179906      0.02453264
2.95   0.00172792      0.02372229

That's a total of 0.13904962 BTC if I were fully ramped. This is 0.05095098 BTC more than what I've earned on Slush in the last 14 days with only 6 blocks found on Kano.

SlushPool

On average I am getting 0.00629276 BTC per day on SlushPool which over the past 14 days would be 0.08809864 BTC and they find between 12-20 blocks per day. Believe me when I say I keep extreme records of my mining activity. Below is a breakdown of SlushPool taking the total payout so far (since mining with 3-S9s) and the total seconds to achieve that then used to come up with the minute, hour, week, etc. numbers.

Per Minute - 0.00000437
Per Hour - 0.00026220
Per Day - 0.00629276
Per Week - 0.04404935
Per Month - 0.19088051
Per Year - 2.29056607

Block Value (AVG) - 16.58 BTC
My Hash (AVG) - 40.70 Th/s
Pool Hash (AVG) - 1.82 Eh/s
Block Time (AVG) - 1.39 Hours
Blocks Found - 149
My Average Block Reward - 0.00036360 BTC

Summary for all doubters of Kano or people like me who keep wavering...

I left thinking I was doing the right thing getting consistent payouts and it would even itself out. Yes, maybe I could make more on Kano at the end of the month but Slush would be close enough I wouldn't mind getting a little less for consistency... I looked back at the big months on Kano and thought... wow there were some really big months but they had a lot more hashing power on those months. I thought to myself they only found 10 blocks in December and the hashing is down considerably from mid of last year. I thought, I thought, I thought too much...

Apologies for the length but I know there are others out there like me making bad decisions and, for me, I need real numbers to back up claims and believe in them. DO NOT DOUBT, MINE WITH KANO!!!

I'm switching back today with my 3-S9s (soon to be 4). The ramp is extremely painful but worth the rewards once you get there. This is a great thread, has tons of positive people actively participating (including Kano), and it's well worth the time invested.
