Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I have just started mining with Kano, but I am going to have to turn the miners off at night as they are just too loud...... Are you penalised at all by the Kano pool if you are not mining 24/7 (aside from the fact you’re not mining for 8 hours a day)?

No penalty...you just have lower hashrate factoring into your payouts.

Go to eBay and do a search for "antminer sound" and you will see some ideas of things you can easily build to soundproof your equipment. Looks like you only have a couple of machines to work with so it would be a breeze to do.

Thanks for the reply and the soundproofing is already in hand, just waiting for the stuff I need to be delivered!

Even with soundproofing, I put them in a separate room and soundproof the door (I need to get a heavier door ... )

Same here. Managed to reduce the noise from 84dB to 63dB but still buzz is too heavy overnight.

Yes, the expected result is to earn the % of the time you are mining.

So e.g. if you always mine 75% of the time, you expect to average out to 75% reward for your hash rate.

If you switch to full time mining after you've already ramped up to 75%, you'll simply ramp up from 75% to 100%

...Your total PPS reward (PPS%) since you've been mining on the pool is ... 106.3% PPS
...Is my understanding correct that on a PPS pool, this 106% would be impossible due to miners only ever getting paid 100% minus the PPS pool fee--2%, for example--which would always be 98%?

It seems that the only way to look at this is that they are paying a higher fee for more frequent payouts.
...and of course since this is a PPLNS pool, not a PPS pool, the variance with a small number of blocks can be quite high.
Sorry for the confusion. I know we're PPLNS. I was trying to compare us to some PPS pool in an attempt to dispel the notion that a miner could make 106% on a PPS pool.

The BTCest mining pool (<1% fee): KanoPool
***PPLNS rewards averaged over the 5Nd to reduce variance***

Looking to donate another S7 to a KANO member in exchange for receiving Bitmain coupons.

Coupons WILL be used towards S9 purchase and WILL be mining on KANO POOL ONLY!!

S7 going to KANO member must also keep the S7 on the pool as it is now.

Coupons needed are $300 and up and I would need x2 in order to release the miner. Also willing to pay a small fee for coupons instead if nobody wants to keep this type of "exchange program" going.

Nothing happens until something moves.

MINE ON WITH KANO........except DPoS2

Are s7's still profitable or mainly obsolete. I know it depends on electricity. I pay .085 kWh. Is this a fully functioning s7 or one with 2 dashboards?

As a business model, no.

Have 2 left. Currently hashing at Kano with rate in pic.

kano,

What a great service. Thank you.

Would it be possible to have the payouts set to every other block or even less frequent for an individual account? I'm thinking I would like to contribute in keeping the network free of unpaid transactions when I don't require frequent payments. It would also result in higher payments by allowing paid transactions... what am I missing?
